The HMC701LP6CE is a SiGe BiCMOS fractional-N frequency synthesizer. The synthesizer includes a 8GHz 16-bit RF N-Divider, a 24-bit delta-sigma modulator, a very low noise digital phase frequency detector (PFD), and a precision controlled charge pump. In addition the synthesizer supports an external step tuned VCO.The fractional synthesizer features an advanced delta-sigma modulator design that allows ultra-fine frequency step sizes. The synthesizer features the ability to alter both the phase-frequency detector (PFD) gain and the cycle slipping characteristics of the PFD. This feature can reduce the time to arrive at the new frequency by 50% vs. conventional PFDs. Ultra low in-close phase noise also allows wider loop bandwidths for faster frequency hopping.The synthesizer contains a built-in linear sweeper function, which allows it to perform frequency chirps with a wide variety of sweep times, polarities and dwells, all with an external or automatic sweep trigger.A General Purpose Output (GPO) bus supports the use of multiple VCOs. The LT3469 is a transconductance (gm) amplifier that can drive outputs up to 33V from a 5V or 12V supply. An internal switching regulator generates a boosted supply voltage for the gm amplifier. The amplifier can drive capacitive loads in the range of 5nF to 300nF. Slew rate is limited only by the maximum output current. The 35V output voltage capability of the switching regulator, along with the high supply voltage of the amplifier, combine to allow the wide output voltage range needed to drive a piezoceramic microactuator.The LT3469 switching regulator switches at 1.3MHz, allowing the use of tiny external components. It is an ideal choice for driving low power, high performance ADCs as a single-ended-to-differential or differential-to-differential amplifier. It provides a precision gain of 1, common-mode level shifting, low temperature drift, and rail-to-rail outputs for maximum dynamic range.The AD8476 also provides overvoltage protection from large industrial input voltages up to ?23 V while operating on a dual 5 V supply. Power dissipation on a single 5 V supply is only 1.5 mW.The AD8476 works well with SAR, ?-?, and pipeline converters.
