EVAL-ADXL367-SDP

Analog Devices Inc.
The ADXL367 is an ultralow power, 3-axis microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) accelerometer that consumes only 0.89 ?A at a 100 Hz output data rate and 180 nA when in motion-triggered wake-up mode. Unlike accelerometers that use power duty cycling to achieve low power consumption, the ADXL367 does not alias input signals by undersampling, but samples the full bandwidth of the sensor at all data rates. The ADXL367 always provides 14-bit output resolution. 8-bit formatted data is offered for more efficient single-byte transfers when a lower resolution is sufficient. 12-bit formatted data is also provided for ADXL362 design compatibility. Measurement ranges of ?2 g, ?4 g, and ?8 g are available, with a resolution of 0.25 mg/LSB on the ?2 g range. In addition to its ultralow power consumption, the ADXL367 has many features to enable true system level power reduction. It includes a deep multimode output first in, first out (FIFO), a built-in micropower temperature sensor, an internal analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for synchronous conversion of an additional analog input with interrupt capability, single-tap and double-tap detection that can operate at any output data rate with only an added 35 nA of current, and a state machine to prevent a false triggering. In addition, the ADXL367 has provisions for external control of the sampling time and/or an external clock. The ADXL367 operates on a wide 1.1 V to 3.6 V supply range, and can interface, if necessary, to a host operating on a separate supply voltage. The ADXL367 is available in a 2.2 mm ? 2.3 mm ? 0.87 mm package.APPLICATIONS 24/7 Always on sensing Industrial Digital Healthcare Prosumer Hearing aids Vital signs monitoring devices Motion-enabled power save switches Motion-enabled metering devices Smart watch with single-cell operation Smart homes

ADXL367 Breakout Board

Analog Devices Inc.
The EVAL-ADXL367Z is a simple breakout board that enables easy connection of an ADXL367 into an existing system. The ADXL367 is a nanowatt, 3-axis, digital-output accelerometer whose industry leading low power consumption and built-in features make it ideal for use in a wide variety of applications. Due to its small size, the EVAL-ADXL367Z has minimal effect on performance of the system and of the accelerometer, and thus it is ideal for evaluation of the ADXL367 in an existing system. Note that the ADXL367 must be communicated with digitally via SPI or I2C. No processor is included with the EVAL-ADXL367Z; firmware must be supplied externally by the user. For evaluation boards that include a processor, please see the EVAL-ADXL367-SDP. MARKETS & TECHNOLOGY Industrial Digital Healthcare Prosumer Automotive Aerospace and Defense

EVAL-ADXL372Z-S

Analog Devices Inc.
The ADXL372 is an ultralow power, 3-axis, ?200 g MEMS accelerometer that consumes 22 ?A at a 3200 Hz output data rate (ODR). The ADXL372 does not power cycle its front end to achieve its low power operation and therefore does not run the risk of aliasing the output of the sensor. In addition to its ultralow power consumption, the ADXL372 has many features to enable impact detection while providing system level power reduction. The device includes a deep multimode output first in, first out (FIFO), several activity detection modes, and a method for capturing only the peak acceleration of over threshold events. Two additional lower power modes with interrupt driven, wake-up features are available for monitoring motion during periods of inactivity. In wake-up mode, acceleration data can be averaged to obtain a low enough output noise to trigger on low g thresholds. In instant on mode, the ADXL372 consumes 1.4 ?A while continuously monitoring the environment for impacts. When an impact event that exceeds the internally set threshold is detected, the device switches to normal operating mode fast enough to record the event.High g applications tend to experience acceleration content over a wide range of frequencies. The ADXL372 includes a 4-pole low-pass antialiasing filter to attenuate out of band signals that are common in high g applications. The ADXL372 also incorporates a high-pass filter to eliminate initial and slow changing errors, such as ambient temperature drift. The ADXL372 provides 12-bit output data at 100 mg/LSB scale factor. The user can access configuration and data registers via the serial peripheral interface (SPI) or limited I2C protocol. The ADXL372 operates over a wide supply voltage range and is available in a 3 mm ? 3.25 mm ? 1.06 mm package.Multifunction pin names may be referenced by their relevant function only.APPLICATIONS Impact and shock detection Asset health assessment Portable Internet of Things (IoT) edge nodes Concussion and head trauma detection

Automotive grade gyroscopes have more extensive guaranteed min/max specifications due to automotive testing. The output signal, RATEOUT (1B, 2A), is a voltageproportional to the angular rate about the axis that is normal tothe top surface of the package. The output is ratiometric withrespect to a provided reference supply. A single externalresistor between SUMJ and RATEOUT can be used to lowerthe scale factor. An external capacitor sets the bandwidth. Otherexternal capacitors are required for operation.A temperature output is provided for compensation techniques. Two digital self-test inputs electromechanically excite thesensor to test proper operation of both the sensor and the signalconditioning circuits.
