Demonstration circuit 995A is an adjustable 1.1A linear regulator featuring the LT3080. Architected as a precision current source and voltage follower, it allows this new regulator to be used in many applications requiring high current, adjustability to zero output, and no heat sink. The device brings out the collector of the pass transistor to allow low dropout operation when used with multiple supplies. The demo board's input supply voltage range is 2.3V to 25V. For proper regulation, the LT3080 has a control pin; the voltage on this pin must be 1.2V to 1.35V higher than the output voltage.The output voltage is jumper selectable and can be set to 1.8V, a value between 0V and 5V (using trimpot R2) or a user-defined value.
A key feature of the LT3080 is its wide output voltage range. By using a reference current through a single resistor, the output voltage can be programmed to any level between zero and 36V. The DC995A has a reduced input voltage 25V due to input capacitor voltage rating. The DC995A can be used as a high current linear regulator, a post regulator for switching supply,a variable voltage supply or a low output voltage power supply.

The LT1304 is a micropower step-up DC/DC converter ideal for use in small, low voltage, battery-operated systems. The devices operate from a wide input supply range of 1.5V to 8V. The LT1304-3.3 and LT1304-5 generate regulated outputs of 3.3V and 5V and the adjustable LT1304 can deliver output voltages up to 25V. Quiescent current, 120?A in active mode, decreases to just 10?A in shutdown with the low-battery detector still active. Peak switch current, internally set at 1A, can be reduced by adding a single resistor from the ILIM pin to ground. The high speed operation of the LT1304 allows the use of small, surface-mountable inductors and capacitors. The ADF4401A is a fully integrated, system in package (SiP) translation loop (also known as an offset loop) module that includes a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and calibration phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit. Designed for highly jitter sensitive applications, this solution reduces board space and complexity compared to traditional discrete translation loop solutions designed on a printed circuit board (PCB). The time to market is significantly reduced by taking advantage of this highly integrated solution with in package circuitry and enhanced isolation that attenuates spurious components. The ADF4401A provides a frequency synthesis solution for engineers designing highly competitive systems. The ADF4401A requires an external phase detector or phase frequency detector (PFD) and an external local oscillator (LO) to form a frequency synthesis solution. The ADF4401A implements an integrated downconversion mixing stage in the feedback loop that sets the loop gain to 1 and minimizes the in band phase noise. By combining the frequency downconversion stage and low noise, integrated, wideband, VCO technology from Analog Devices, Inc., the ADF4401A offers a wideband jitter performance of 9 fs rms at 8 GHz output. The output jitter performance is largely dependent on the performance of the external offset LO. The ADF4401A module uses an internal PFD and VCO calibration circuitry to select the appropriate VCO band. The user can disable the calibration circuitry and close the loop using the external PFD.
