Analog Devices Inc.
The AD607 is a 3 V low power receiver IF subsystem for operation at input frequencies as high as 500 MHz and IFs from 400 kHz to 12 MHz. It consists of a mixer, IF amplifiers, I and Q demodulators, a phase-locked quadrature oscillator, and a biasing system with external power-down. The AD607?s low noise, high intercept mixer is a doubly balanced Gilbert cell type. It has a nominal ?15 dBm input referred 1 dB compression point and a ?8 dBm input referred third order intercept. The mixer section of the AD607 also includes a local oscillator (LO) preamplifier, which lowers the required LO drive to ?16 dBm. In MGC operation, the AD607 accepts an external gain-control voltage input from an external AGC detector or a DAC.The I and Q demodulators provide in-phase and quadrature baseband outputs to interface with Analog Devices? AD7013 (IS54, TETRA, MSAT) and AD7015 (GSM) baseband converters. A quadrature VCO phase-locked to the IF drives the I and Q demodulators. The I and Q demodulators can also demodulate AM; when the AD607?s quadrature VCO is phase-locked to the received signal, the in-phase demodulator becomes a synchronous product detector for AM. The VCO can also be phase-locked to an external beat-frequency oscillator (BFO), and the demodulator serves as a product detector for CW or SSB reception. Finally, the AD607 can be used to demodulate BPSK using an external Costas Loop for carrier recovery.APPLICATIONS GSM, CDMA, TDMA, and TETRA Receivers Satellite Terminals Battery-Powered Communications Receivers

The AD7170 is a very low power 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC). It contains a precision 12-bit sigma-delta (?-?) ADC and an on-chip oscillator. Consuming only 135 ?A, the AD7170 is particularly suitable for portable or battery operated products where very low power is a requirement. The AD7170 also has a power-down mode in which the device consumes 5 ?A, thus increasing the battery life of the product. For ease-of-use, all the features of the AD7170 are controlled by dedicated pins. Each time a data read occurs, eight status bits are appended to the 12-bit conversion. These status bits contain a pattern sequence that can be used to confirm the validity of the serial transfer. The output data rate of the AD7170 is 125 Hz, whereas the settling time is 24 ms. The AD7170 has one differential input and a gain of 1. The AD7328 is an 8-channel, 12-bit plus sign, successive approximation ADC designed on the?iCMOS? (industrial CMOS) process.?iCMOS is a process combining high voltage silicon with submicron CMOS and complementary bipolar technologies. It enables the development of a wide range of high performance analog ICs capable of 33 V operation in a footprint that no previous generation of high voltage parts could achieve. Unlike analog ICs using conventional CMOS processes, iCMOS components can accept bipolar input signals while providing increased performance, dramatically reduced power consumption, and reduced package size. The AD7328 can accept true bipolar analog input signals. The AD7328 has four software-selectable input ranges, ?10 V, ?5 V, ?2.5 V, and 0 V to +10 V. Each analog input channel can be independently programmed to one of the four input ranges. The analog input channels on the AD7328 can be programmed to be single-ended, true differential, or pseudo differential. The ADC contains a 2.5 V internal reference. The AD7328 also allows for external reference operation. If a 3 V reference is applied to the REFIN/OUT pin, the AD7328 can accept a true bipolar ?12 V analog input. The AD7400 is a second-order, sigma-delta (?-?) modulator that converts an analog input signal to a high speed, 1-bit data stream with on-chip digital isolation based on Analog Devices, Inc.?iCoupler? technology. The AD7400 operates from a 5 V power supply and accepts a differential input signal of ?200 mV (?320 mV full scale). The analog input is continuously sampled by the analog modulator, eliminating the need for external sample-and-hold circuitry. The input information is contained in the output stream as a density of ones with a data rate of 10 MHz. The original information can be reconstructed with an appropriate digital filter. The serial I/O can use a 5 V or a 3 V supply (VDD2).The serial interface is digitally isolated. High speed CMOS, combined with monolithic air core transformer technology, means the on-chip isolation provides outstanding performance characteristics superior to alternatives such as optocoupler devices. The part contains an on-chip reference. The AD7400 is offered in a 16-lead SOIC and has an operating temperature range of ?40?C to +105?C.An external clock version, AD7401, is also available.APPLICATIONS AC motor controls Data acquisition systems A/D + opto-isolator replacements
