The LTC2444/LTC2445/LTC2448/LTC2449 are 8-/16- channel (4-/8-differential) high speed 24-bit No Latency ?? ADCs. They use a proprietary delta-sigma architecture enabling variable speed/resolution. Through a simple 4-wire serial interface, ten speed/resolution combinations 6.9Hz/280nVRMS to 3.5kHz/25?VRMS (4kHz with external oscillator) can be selected with no latency between conversion results or shift in DC accuracy (offset, full-scale, linearity, drift). Additionally, a 2X speed mode can be selected enabling output rates up to 7kHz (8kHz if an external oscillator is used) with one cycle latency.Any combination of single-ended or differential inputs can be selected with a common mode input range from ground to VCC, independent of VREF. While operating in the 1X speed mode the first conversion following a new speed, resolution, or channel selection is valid. Since there is no settling time between conversions, all 8 differential channels can be scanned at a rate of 500Hz. Demonstration circuit 856A is a 500mA, 1.25MHz Synchronous Boost Converter featuring the LTC3427EDC. The demo circuit demonstrates a DC/DC boost converter, with a 500mA switch current limit, providing 3.3V at 180mA from a 1.8V to 3.6V input voltage.

Demonstration circuit 857 features the LT3481EMSE and LT3481EDD in two step-down converter circuits, one configured for high efficiency and the other for small size. The high efficiency circuit switching at 800kHz is designed for 3.3V/2A output from a 4.5V to 34V input. The small size circuit switching at 2MHz demonstrates the LT3481’s ability to operate with a small inductor and output capacitor. It is designed for 5V output from an 8.5V to 22V input. The wide input range of the LT3481 allows a variety of input sources. The typical sources are automotive batteries, wall adaptors and industrial supplies. The current mode control scheme creates fast transient response and good loop stability. In addition, the LT3481’s integrated boost diode reduces the parts count. The low ripple Burst Mode® Operation of LT3481 not only allows the circuit to have high efficiency over a broad current range but also provides the low output ripple at light load conditions.

Demonstration circuit 876 is a dual step-up white LED driver with wide dimming range featuring the LT3486. The board is optimized to drive a string of six, eight, or ten white LEDs at 100mA from each of its two outputs with a PVIN input voltage range of 3V to 25V.
