LT8603 Demo Board | 42V, Quad Output Triple Monolithic Buck Converter and Boost Controller

Demonstration Circuit 2114A features the LT8603 with triple monolithic buck regulators and a boost controller. The demo circuit is designed for 8.0V, 5.0V, 3.3V, and 1.8V outputs from a nominal 12V input. The 4th channel is set as a boost converter and is powered from a wide input range with output VOUT4 regulated at 8V if 3V < VIN < 8.5V. It works as diode pass through if the input is above 8.5V. The two high voltage buck regulators are powered from the boost converter. VOUT1 is regulated at 5V with 1.5A maximum output load current, and VOUT2 is at 3.3V with 2.5A maximum output load current. Thanks to the pre-boost converter, they can ride through a cold crank in automotive applications while providing constant output voltages 5V and 3.3V. The low voltage buck is powered from the VOUT2 (3.3V), and the output VOUT3 is regulated at 1.8V with 1.8A maximum load current.

Demonstration circuit 2315A is intended to demonstrate the performance of the LTC4235-1/LTC4235-2 Dual 12V Ideal Diode-OR and Single Hot Swap™ Controller with Current Monitor. The controller operates in redundant 12V supply circuits, where each rail has an individual ideal diode, and the outputs are connected to the load through a single Hot Swap circuit. The controller enables monitoring of the load current by providing a signal that is 100× the sense resistor voltage.

Demonstration circuits 2324A-A, 2324A-B, and 2324A-C are active clamp forward converters with synchronous rectification featuring the LT3753.
These circuits were designed to demonstrate the high level of performance, efficiency and small solution size attainable using this part. They operate at 240kHz. The DC2324A-A produces a 24V/5A output from an input voltage range of 36V to 72V. The DC2324A-B produces a 24V/5A output from an input voltage range of 18V to 36V. The DC2324A-C produces a 24V/4A output from an input voltage range of 9V to 18V, making it suitable for telecom, industrial and other isolated power supply applications. They all have an eighth-brick footprint area. Synchronous rectification helps to attain efficiency exceeding 94% (exceeding 95% for the DC2324A-A and DC2324A-B).

Demonstration circuit 2866A features the LTC4421 Dual
Supply High Power Prioritized Powerpath™ Controller in
a 12V/24V, 10A application. The LTC4421 incorporates
strong gate drivers to switch large external N-channel
MOSFETs and fast switchover circuitry to minimize VOUT
droop while preventing reverse and cross conduction
currents, making it an ideal solution for high reliability
systems, battery back up systems, and servers. DC2866A
arbitrates between two input supply rails, selecting the
highest priority, valid supply to power the load. By definition, the supply connected to V1 is the higher priority
supply, although it can be changed dynamically. External
resistive dividers set the undervoltage and overvoltage
thresholds that bound the valid voltage window. External
sense resistors set the limit on maximum current that can flow to the load. Two or more DC2866As can be cascaded
to provide switchover between more than two rails.
