The LTC5593 is part of a family of dual-channel high dynamic range, high gain downconverting mixers covering the 600MHz to 4.5GHz RF frequency range. The LTC5593 is optimized for 2.3GHz to 4.5GHz RF applications. The LO frequency must fall within the 2.1GHz to 4.2GHz range for optimum performance. A typical application is a LTE or WiMAX multichannel or diversity receiver with a 2.3GHz to 2.7GHz RF input.The LTC5593?s high conversion gain and high dynamic range enable the use of lossy IF filters in high selectivity receiver designs, while minimizing the total solution cost, board space and system-level variation. Operating over an input voltage range of 3.6V to 58V, the LTM8050 supports an output voltage range of 0.8V to 24V and a switching frequency range of 100kHz to 2.4MHz, each set by a single resistor. The board operates from an input range of 4.5V to 16V, and provides a –5.2V, 1.7A output or a –12V, 1A output (jumper selectable). It operates at 400kHz and may be synchronized to an external clock. A soft-start feature controls output voltage slew rate at start-up, reducing current surge and voltage overshoot. Burst Mode® operation that improves efficiency at light loads can be enabled with a jumper. A power good output signal is provided. The demonstration board has options for larger MOSFET and diode packages on the back of the board for higher output current requirements.
