LTM4645 High Efficiency, PolyPhase 75A Step-Down Power µModule Regulator

Demonstration circuit 2616A-B features a polyphase design using the LTM4645EY, a 25A high efficiency, switch mode step-down power µModule regulator. The input voltage range is from 6V to 15V. To use DC2616A-B for input voltage range from 4.7V to 6V, connect INTVCC to SVIN (change R22, R42, R55 from OPT to 0Ω), DRVCC to VIN (change R21, R38, R52 from 0Ω to OPT, R2, R39, R53 from OPT to 0Ω). The output voltage range is 0.6V to 1.8V. The DC2616A-B can deliver a nominal 75A output current with three LTM4645 modules in parallel. As explained in the data sheet, output current derating is necessary for certain VIN, VOUT, and thermal conditions. The board operates in continuous conduction mode in heavy load conditions. For high efficiency at low load currents, the MODE_PLLIN jumper selects pulse-skipping mode for noise sensitive applications or burst mode operation in less noise sensitive applications. The MODE_PLLIN pin also allows the LTM4645 to synchronize to an external clock signal. The phase shift between two adjacent phases is 120 degrees. DC2616A-B has the option of choosing both internal and external compensation circuit for LTM4645. The LTM4645 data sheet must be read in conjunction with this demo manual prior to working on or modifying demo circuit DC2616A-B.

LT4293, LT4321 IEEE 802.3bt and LTPoE++ Interoperable Powered Device

Demonstration circuit 2911A is an IEEE 802.3bt compliant and LTPoE++ interoperable Power over Ethernet (PoE) Powered Device (PD). It features the LT4293 PD interface controller and the LT4321 PoE ideal diode bridge controller.
The LT4293 provides LTPoE++, IEEE 802.3af (PoE, Type 1), IEEE 802.3at (PoE+, Type 2), and IEEE 802.3bt (PoE++, Type 3 and 4) compliant interfacing. It utilizes an external, low RDS(ON) (30mΩ typical) N-channel MOSFET for the Hot Swap function to improve efficiency.
Power good (PWRGD) output indicates the PD controller is ready to provide power to the downstream load. This signal can be used to enable an isolated power supply. The T2P output indicates the available power from the Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE). This signal communicates allocated power from either LTPoE++ or IEEE 802.3bt-compliant PSEs to the downstream PD circuitry.
The LT4321 controls eight low RDS(ON) (57mΩ typical) N-channel MOSFETs to further improve end-to-end power delivery efficiency and ease thermal design. This solution replaces the eight diodes typically found in a passive PoE rectifier bridge.
The DC2911A accepts up to 90W of delivered power from a PSE via the RJ45 connector (J1) or a local 48V DC power supply using the auxiliary supply input. When both supplies are connected, the auxiliary supply input has priority over the PoE input.

Demonstration circuit 719 is an Isolated Full-Bridge Converter with Synchronous Rectification featuring the LTC3723-1, LTC3901, LTC4440, and LT1431. It operates at 300kHz and produces a regulated 12V, 20A output in a quarter-brick footprint from a typical telecom input voltage range of 42 to 56V. Synchronous rectification helps to attain efficiency approaching 96%. Isolation voltage is 1500VDC.

The LTC1174 is a simple current mode DC/DC converter ideally suited for 9V to 5V, 5V to 3.3V or 5V to ?5V operation. With an internal 0.9? switch (at a supply voltage of 9V), the LTC1174 requires only four external components to construct a complete high efficiency DC/DC converter.Under a no load condition the LTC1174 draws only 130?A. In shutdown, it draws a mere 1?A making this converter ideal for current sensitive applications. In dropout, the internal P-channel MOSFET switch is turned on continuously allowing the user to maximize the life of the battery source.The maximum inductor current of the LTC1174 family is pin selectable to either 340mA or 600mA, optimizing efficiency for a wide range of applications. Demonstration circuit 1225 is high efficiency nonisolated SEPIC (Single Ended Primary Inductor Converter) converter featuring the LTC1871-1 switching controller. The DC1225 converts 5V to 20V input to 12V output and provides over 3A of output current. The converter operates at 300kHz with efficiency over 94%. With proper amount of airflow, the DC1225 converter can generate over 3A of output current. The DC1225 can be easily modified to generate output voltages in the range from 1.23V to 48V. Also, the DC1225 can be modified for other input voltages like 5V-36V, 9V-36V, 36V-72V, and so on. The wider input voltage range will decrease the converter efficiency.
