EVAL01-HMC1065LP4
Analog Devices Inc.
The HMC1065LP4E is a compact GaAs MMIC Image Reject Low Noise Converter in a leadless RoHS compliant SMT package. This device provides a small signal conversion gain of 13 dB with 17 dBc of image rejection, and -2 dBm Input IP3. The HMC1065LP4E utilizes an RF LNA followed by an I/Q mixer which is driven by an active X2 multiplier. IF1 and IF2 mixer outputs are provided and an external 90? hybrid is needed to select the required sideband. The I/Q mixer topology reduces the need for filtering of the unwanted sideband. The HMC1065LP4E is a much smaller alternative to hybrid style image reject downconverter assemblies and it eliminates the need for wire bonding by allowing the use of surface mount manufacturing techniques.APPLICATIONS Point-to-Point & Point-to-Multi-Point Radio Satellite Communications Sensors

LTC2980-24 | 24-Channel Power Supply System Featuring the LTC2980-24 Power System Manager
Analog Devices Inc.
The DC3097A-KIT is a demonstration system for the LTC2980-24 for the 24-channel I2C/SMBus/PMBus Power System Manager (PSM) with EEPROM. It consists of 4 circuit boards, namely one DC3094A board and three DC1361B boards. The LTC2980-24 monitors and controls 24 power supply rails which are provided by three DC1361B power supply boards that plug into the DC3094A. The system demonstrates the ability of the LTC2980-24 to sequence, trim, margin, supervise, monitor, and log faults for the twenty-four power supplies. Together these four boards form a sophisticated, 24-channel, digitally programmable and digitally managed power supply system.
The board set contains twenty-four independent power supply rails, by having the three DC1361B boards. All 24 rails are based on LTM4603 DC/DC μModule® switching regulators. The DC1361B board is pre-configured with output voltages ranging from 0.8V to 3.3V. The power supply channels may be reconfigured to different output voltages by changing the feedback resistors. The LTC2980-24 can be configured to monitor current on odd numbered channels. The DC1361B board has been designed to allow the user to enable this feature on Channel 7. In this configuration, Channel 7 measures the current on Channel 6’s 1V output.
The LTpowerPlay® graphical user interface (GUI) supports this demonstration system and enables complete control of all the features of the LTC2980-24. Together, the LTpowerPlay software and DC3094A hardware system create a powerful development environment for designing and testing configuration settings of the LTC2980-24. LTpowerPlay stores these settings in the LTC2980-24 internal EEPROM or in a project file. The software displays all the configuration settings and real time measurements from the Power System Management IC. Telemetry allows easy access and decoding of the fault log created by the LTC2980-24. The board comes pre-programmed with the EEPROM values appropriate for the twenty-four power supply rails. Just plug and play!

The HMC951A is a compact gallium arsenide (GaAs), monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC), in-phase quadrature (I/Q) downconverter in a RoHS compliant package that operates from 5.6 GHz to 8.6 GHz. This device provides a small signal conversion gain of 13 dB with a noise figure of 2 dB and an image rejection of 32 dBc. The HMC951A uses a low noise amplifier (LNA) followed by an image mixer that is driven by a local oscillator (LO) buffer amplifier. The image reject mixer eliminates the need for a filter following the LNA and removes thermal noise at the image frequency. The IF1 and IF2 mixer outputs are provided and an external 90? hybrid is needed to select the required sideband. The I/Q mixer topology reduces the need for filtering of unwanted sideband. The HMC951A is a smaller alternative to hybrid style, single sideband (SSB) downconverter assemblies, and it eliminates the need for wire bonding by allowing the use of surface-mount manufacturing techniques. The HMC951A is available in 4 mm ? 4 mm, 24-lead lead frame chip scale package (LFCSP) and operates over the ?40?C to +85?C temperature range. An evaluation board for the HMC951A is also available upon request. EVAL-ADM1170EBZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADM1170 is a Hot Swap controller that allows a board to be safely inserted and removed from a live backplane. This is achieved using a pass FET with a current control loop that monitors the input current using a sense resistor. An internal charge pump is used to enhance the gate of theexternal high side N-channel FET. When an over current condition is detected the gate voltage of the FET is reduced to limit the current flowing through the sense resistor. The ADM1170 operates with a supply voltage ranging from 2.7V to 16.5V. Using separate SENSE pins from VCC the ADM1170 allows for the hot swap of supplies ranging down to 1.6V. During an overcurrent condition the timer cap determines the amount of time the FET will remain in this condition. The ON (ON-CLR) pin is the enable input for the device and also acts as a latched fault reset for the ADM1170-2 model. The SS pin is used to control the inrush current profile by ramping up the current sense limit at a rate set by the SS capacitor. This device is available in two options: the ADM1170-1 will automatic retry for over-current fault and the ADM1170-2 will latch-off for an over-current fault. The ADM1170 is packaged in an 8-lead TSOT packageAPPLICATIONS Hot Swap Board Insertion ? Line Cards, Raid Systems Electronic Circuit Breaker Industrial High Side Switch/Circuit Breaker

The LTC6905 precision, programmable silicon oscillator is easy to use and occupies very little board space. It requires only a single resistor to set the output frequency from 17MHz to 170MHz with a typical frequency error of 0.5% or less. The LTC6905 operates with a single 2.7V to 5.5V power supply and provides a rail-to-rail, 50% duty cycle square wave output. The CMOS output driver ensures fast rise/fall times and rail-to-rail switching. Operation is simple: A single resistor, RSET, between 10K to 25K is used to set the frequency, and an internal three-state divider (DIV input) allows for division of the master clock by 1, 2 or 4, providing three frequencies for each RSET value. The LTC6905 features a proprietary feedback loop that linearizes the relationship between RSET and frequency, eliminating the need for tables to calculate frequency. The oscillator can be easily programmed using the simple formula outlined below:See first page of Data Sheet for formula? For higher accuracy, fixed frequency versions that includean internal frequency-setting resistor, see the LTC6905-XXX Series datasheet.Applications High Frequency Precision Oscillator High Speed Data Bus Clock Fixed Crystal Oscillator Replacement Ceramic Oscillator Replacement
