Demonstration circuit 2814A-A is a high voltage, high efficiency synchronous buck-boost DC/DC converter with an input voltage range of 8V to 80V. After the part has started, the input voltage can run down to 3.5V. It can supply a 3A maximum load current with an output range of 8V to 16V. The demo board features the LT8210EUJ controller. The constant frequency current mode architecture allows a phase-lockable frequency of up to 400kHz, while an optional input or output current feedback loop provides support for applications such as battery charging. With a wide input range, wide output range, and seamless transfers between operation modes, the LT8210 is ideal for industrial, automotive, medical, military, and avionics applications.  The converter has four modes of operation: burst, pulse skip, forced continuous mode, or pass-thru. Pass-thru is a feature that passes the input directly to the output when the input voltage is within a user programmable window. Switching losses drop to zero and efficiency is maximized. For input voltage above or below the pass-thru window, the buck or boost regulation loops maintain the output at the set maximum or minimum values, respectively. LTM4680EY | Dual 30A or Single 60A μModule Regulator with Digital Power System Management

Demonstration circuit 2845A features the LTM4680, which is a dual 30A or single 60A μModule® regulator with 4.5V to 16V input range. The two channels of the LTM4680 are paralleled on this board, so it can deliver 60A maximum load current. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.5V to 3.3V. Please see LTM4680 data sheet for more detailed information. DC2845A powers up to default settings and produces power based on configuration resistors without the need for any serial bus communication. This allows easy evaluation of the DC/DC converter. To fully explore the extensive power system management features of the part, download the GUI software LTpowerPlay® onto your PC and use ADI I2C/SMBus/PMBus dongle DC1613A to connect to the board. LTpowerPlay allows the user to reconfigure the part on-the-fly and store the configuration in EEPROM, view telemetry of voltage, current, temperature and fault status. LTC7818 Demo Board | Triple Output Synchronous Step-Up/Dual Step-Down Supply

Demonstration circuit DC2855A is a triple output synchronous step-up/dual step-down supply featuring the LTC 7818. The demonstration circuit is designed for two buck outputs 5V/10A, 3.3V/10A supplied by a boosted 10V output. Benefiting from this feature, the buck outputs are able to maintain regulation over a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 36V which is suitable for automotive or other battery fed applications. Also, the demonstration circuit uses a drop-in layout whereas the main buck circuit components fit in an area of ¾” by 1½”, while the main boost circuit area is ¾” by 1¾”. The package style for the LTC7818 is a 40-pin exposed pad QFN. The main features of the board include rail tracking (Buck channels only), an internal 5V linear regulator for bias, separated RUN pins for each output, a PGOOD signal (CH1 only), an overvoltage indicator for CH3 and a Mode selector that allow the converter to run in CCM, Pulseskipping or Burst Mode operation. Spread Spectrum Mode is availiable for EMI improvement. Synchronization to an external clock is also possible. LTM4670 | Low VIN, Quad μModule Regulator with Configurable 10A Output Array Step-Down Regulator

Demonstration circuit 2891A features the LTM4670EY, a high efficiency, quad 10A step-down power μModule® regulator. The input voltage range is from 2.25V to 5.5V. The output voltage range is 0.5V to VIN. Derating is necessary for certain VIN, VOUT, frequency and thermal conditions. The DC2891A offers the SSTT pin allowing the user to program output tracking, soft-start period and die temperature monitoring. The MODE/SYNC pin either synchronizes the switching frequency to an external clock, is a clock output, or sets the PWM mode. The PWM modes of operation are forced continues mode for low noise or pulse-skipping mode for high efficiency at light load. The LTM4670 defaults to forced continues mode in regulation and during synchronization. The LTM4670 operates in pulse-skipping mode when both the FREQ and MODE/SYNC pins are connected to VIN. DC2891A has optional jumper resistors to parallel multiple LTM4670 channels. For paralleled channels, one channel can be set as master, and the rest can be set as slaves. The phase shift of a slave channel relative to the master channel can be programmed with a resistor divider on the FREQ pin. For DC2891A, four channels of LTM4670 are working separately and all set as master. A multiphase oscillator LTC6902 is used to set 90-degree phase shift between adjacent phases and reduce the amount of ripple current in both the input and output capacitors. The LTM4670 data sheet must be read in conjunction with the demo manual prior to working on or modifying demo circuit DC2891A.

LT4293, LT4321 IEEE 802.3bt and LTPoE++ Interoperable Powered Device

Demonstration circuit 2911A is an IEEE 802.3bt compliant and LTPoE++ interoperable Power over Ethernet (PoE) Powered Device (PD). It features the LT4293 PD interface controller and the LT4321 PoE ideal diode bridge controller. The LT4293 provides LTPoE++, IEEE 802.3af (PoE, Type 1), IEEE 802.3at (PoE+, Type 2), and IEEE 802.3bt (PoE++, Type 3 and 4) compliant interfacing. It utilizes an external, low RDS(ON) (30mΩ typical) N-channel MOSFET for the Hot Swap function to improve efficiency. Power good (PWRGD) output indicates the PD controller is ready to provide power to the downstream load. This signal can be used to enable an isolated power supply. The T2P output indicates the available power from the Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE). This signal communicates allocated power from either LTPoE++ or IEEE 802.3bt-compliant PSEs to the downstream PD circuitry. The LT4321 controls eight low RDS(ON) (57mΩ typical) N-channel MOSFETs to further improve end-to-end power delivery efficiency and ease thermal design. This solution replaces the eight diodes typically found in a passive PoE rectifier bridge. The DC2911A accepts up to 90W of delivered power from a PSE via the RJ45 connector (J1) or a local 48V DC power supply using the auxiliary supply input. When both supplies are connected, the auxiliary supply input has priority over the PoE input.

LT8357 Demo Board | Low IQ High Power Boost Converter

Demonstration circuit 2937A features the LT8357 as a 360kHz low IQ, high power boost converter with a 48V output from 10V to 40V input. This demonstration circuit features spread spectrum frequency modulation (SSFM) and split gate driver pins for the high power, high voltage switch. The converter can output 2A and higher (see Figure 3 in the demo manual). When placed in shutdown, the converter has very low quiescent current, ideal in automotive and other battery-powered applications. Low quiescent current can be achieved with both pulse-skipping and Burst Mode® operation as jumper selections on this demonstration circuit. The LT8357 boost controller IC operates over an input range of 3V to 60V, suitable for automotive, telecom and industrial applications. It also exhibits a low quiescent current of 8μA, making it ideal for battery-operated systems. It drives a low side N-channel power MOSFET with a 5V split gate drive. The controller provides adjustable and synchronizable operation from 100kHz to 2MHz. At light load, either pulse-skipping or low-ripple Burst Mode operation can be selected to improve the efficiency. It also packs many popular features such as soft-start, input undervoltage lockout, adjustable frequency and clock synchronization. PGOOD indicates when the output voltage is in regulation. The LT8357 comes in a thermally enhanced 12-lead plastic MSE package. The LT8357 data sheet gives a complete description of the part, pins, features, operation and application information. The LTC4246 contains eight switches, each with an independent circuit breaker function. It is particularly well suited for extremely space constrained designs. Each switch can operate completely autonomously or be arbitrarily grouped with other switches that will respond together to the fault of any single device within its group. Optionally, channel grouping may be extended to multiple LTC4246 devices by selecting the FIN# (fault input) pin as part of a channel group. A required bias supply between 2.5V to 5V allows the switches to independently operate from 13.2V down to 0V.
