The LTC5589 is a direct conversion I/Q modulator designed for low power wireless applications that enables direct modulation of differential baseband I and Q signals on an RF carrier. Single side-band modulation or side-band suppressed upconversion can be achieved by applying 90? phase-shifted signals to the I and Q inputs. The I/Q baseband input ports can be either AC or DC coupled to a source with a common mode voltage level of about 1.4V. The SPI interface controls the supply current, modulator gain, and allows adjustments of I and Q gain and phase imbalance to optimize the LO carrier feedthrough and side-band suppression. The LO port can be driven with sine wave or square wave LO drive. A fixed LC network on the LO and RF ports covers 700MHz to 6GHz operating range. An on-chip thermometer can be activated to compensate for gain-temperature variations. More accurate temperature measurements can be made using an on-chip diode. In addition, a continuous analog gain control (VCTRL) pin can be used for fast power control.Applications Wireless Microphones Battery Powered Radios Vector Modulator 2.45GHz and 5.8GHz Transmitters Software Defined Radios (SDR) Military Radios

The LTC7860 high efficiency surge stopper protects loads from high voltage transients. High efficiency permits higher currents and smaller solution sizes. During an input overvoltage event, such as a load dump in vehicles, the LTC7860 controls the gate of an external MOSFET to act as a switching DC/DC regulator (PROTECTIVE PWM mode). This operation regulates the output voltage to a safe level, allowing the loads to operate through the input over-voltage event. During normal operation (SWITCH-ON mode), the LTC7860 turns on the external MOSFET continuously, passing the input voltage through to the output. An internal comparator limits the voltage across the current sense resistor and regulates the maximum output current to protect against overcurrent faults. An adjustable timer limits the time that the LTC7860 can spend in overvoltage or overcurrent regulation. When the timer expires, the external MOSFET is turned off until the LTC7860 restarts after a cool down period. By strictly limiting the time in PROTECTIVE PWM Mode when the power loss is high, the components and thermal design can be optimized for normal operation and safely operate through high voltage input surges and/or overcurrent faults. An additional PMOS can be added for reverse battery protection.Applications Industrial and Automotive Power Telecom Power Vehicle Power Including ISO7637 Military Power Including MIL1275

The LTC4368 protects applications from power supply voltages that may be too high, too low, or even negative and from overcurrent faults in both forward and reverse directions. The LTC4368 controls the gate voltage of a pair of external N-channel MOSFETs to ensure that the load is connected to the input supply only when there are no voltage or current faults. Two comparator inputs allow configuration of the overvoltage (OV) and undervoltage (UV) set points using an external resistive divider. A current sense resistor sets the forward and reverse circuit breaker current thresholds. After a forward current fault, the LTC4368 will either latchoff power, or retry after a user adjustable delay. After a reverse current fault, the LTC4368 waits for the output to fall 100mV below the input to reconnect power to the load. The LTC4368 has a 32ms turn-on delay that debounces live supply input connections and blocks 50Hz and 60Hz AC power. UV/OV faults also trigger the 32ms recovery delay before the external MOSFETs are turned back on.APPLICATIONS Reverse Battery Protection Portable Instrumentation Automotive and Industrial Surge Protection Energy Storage Systems

The LTC7813 is a high performance synchronous Boost+Buck DC/DC switching regulator controller that drives all N-channel power MOSFET stages. It contains independent step-up (boost) and step-down (buck) controllers that can regulate two separate outputs or be cascaded to regulate an output voltage from an input voltage that can be above, below, or equal to the output voltage. The LTC7813 operates from a wide 4.5V to 60V input supply range. When biased from the output of the boost regulator, the LTC7813 can operate from an input supply as low as 2.2V after start-up. The 34?A no-load quiescent current (both channels on) extends operating runtime in battery-powered systems.Unlike conventional buck-boost regulators, the LTC7813?s cascaded Boost+Buck solution has continuous, nonpulsating, input and output currents, substantially reducing voltage ripple and EMI. The LTC7813 has independent feedback and compensation points for the boost and buck regulation loops, enabling a fast output transient response that can be externally optimized.Applications Automotive and Industrial Power Systems High Power Battery Operated Systems
