DC1205A: Demo Board for LT3592 500mA Wide Input Voltage Range Step-Down LED Driver with 10:1 Dimming.

Demonstration circuit 1247A features the LT3582 an I2C Programmable Boost and Single Inductor Inverting DC/DC Converters with OTP. It converts a 2.7V-5.5V source to two outputs, a positive and a negative. The positive output can be programmed from 3.2V to 12.775V at 25mV intervals and the negative from -1.2V to -13.95V at 50mV intervals, all via the QuickEval™ System. A DC590B is needed for evaluation of this demo board. Table 1 below shows the maximum expected load currents for some output/input combinations. Check Maximum Load Current section on datasheet for other combinations. The LT3582 features all integrated switches and feedback resistors, a low noise control scheme, positive output disconnect function, low quiescent current, built in softstart.

Demonstration circuit 2453A features the LTM4643 μModule® regulator, a high performance high efficiency 4 output step-down regulator. The LTM4643EV has an operating input voltage range of 4V to 14V and is able to provide up to 3A out output current from each of its phases. Each output’s voltage is programmable from 0.6V to 5.5V but the demo board is configured to provide outputs of 3.3V, 2.5V, 1.5V and 1.2V. The LTM4643EV is a complete DC/DC point of load regulator in a thermally enhanced 15mm × 9mm × 5.01mm BGA package requiring only a few input and output capacitors.

Demonstration circuit 2552A is a dual-output, high efficiency, high density, µModule regulator with 4.5V to 16V input range. Each output can supply 25A maximum load current. The demo board has a LTM4678 µModule regulator, which is a dual 25A or single 50A step-down regulator with digital power system management. Please see LTM4678 data sheet for more detailed information. DC2552A powers up to default settings and produce power based on configuration resistors without the need for any serial bus communication. This allows easy evaluation of the DC/DC converter. Demonstration circuit 2584A is an IEEE 802.3bt (Draft 2.1) compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE) Powered Device (PD). It features the LT4295 PD interface and switching regulator controller and the LT4321 PoE ideal diode bridge controller.

Each output can supply 5A maximum load current. The demo board has a LTC7880 controller, which is a 60V dual output step-up controller with digital power system management. DC2728A powers up to default settings and produces power based on configuration resistors or its nonvolatile memory (NVM) without the need for any serial bus communication. This allows easy evaluation of the DC/DC converter. This allows easy evaluation of the DC/DC converter. Demonstration circuit 3082A-A features the LTM4681: the wide input and output voltage range, high efficiency and power density, high current PolyPhase® single output DC/DC step-down μModule® regulator with digital power system management. DC3082A-A is configured as 8-phase single output using 2 × LTM4681. The factory default input voltage is 12V typical, output voltage is 1V at 240A typical or 250A peak with recommended 400LFM forced airflow. The demo board output voltages can be adjusted from 0.6V to 1V. Programming the output voltages to any value that is greater than 1V, requires derating output current based on thermal derating curves provided in the data sheet of the LTM4681. Heat sink or other appropriate electronic cooling systems can also be used in conjunction with forced airflow to further optimize the output power when the output is on and loaded with maximum output current. The factory default switching frequency is preset at 350kHz typical. DC3082A-A comes with PMBus interface and digital power system management functions. An onboard 12-pin connector is available for users to connect the dongle DC1613A to the demo board, provides an easy way to communicate and program the part using LTpowerPlay® software development tool. LTpowerPlay software and I2C/PMBus/SMBus dongle DC1613A allows users to monitor real time telemetry of input and output voltages, input and output current, switching frequency, internal IC die temperatures, power stage component temperatures and fault logs. Programmable parameters include device address, output voltages, control loop compensation, switching frequency, phase interleaving, DCM or CCM Mode of operation, digital soft-start, sequencing, and time based shutdown, fault responses to input and output overvoltage, output overcurrent, IC die and power component overtemperatures. The LTM4681 is available in a thermally enhanced, low profile 330-Lead (15mm × 22mm × 8.17mm) BGA package. It is recommended to read the data sheet and demo manual of LTM4681 prior to using or making any hardware changes to DC3082A-A. LTpowerPlay software can be downloaded here.
