The LTM8064 is a 58VIN, 6A, constant-voltage, constantcurrent (CVCC), step-down ?Module? (power module) regulator. Included in the package are the switching controller, power switches, inductor and support components. Operating over an input voltage range of 6V to 58V, the LTM8064 supports an output voltage range of 1.2V to 36V. CVCC operation allows the LTM8064 to accurately regulate its output current up to 7A when sourcing and 9.1A when sinking over the entire output range. The output current can be set by a control voltage, a single resistor or a thermistor. To set the switching frequency, simply place a resistor from the RT pin to ground. A resistor from FB to ground will set the output voltage. Only the bulk input and output filter capacitors are needed to finish the design.The LTM8064 is packaged in a thermally enhanced, compact (16mm ? 11.9mm ? 4.92mm) over-molded ball grid array (BGA) package suitable for automated assembly by standard surface mount equipment. The LT3686 is a current mode PWM step-down DC/DC converter with an internal 1.2A power switch, packaged in 10-lead 3mm ? 3mm DFN. The wide input range of 3.6V to 37V makes the LT3686 suitable for regulating power from a wide variety of sources, including 24V industrial supplies and automotive batteries. Its high maximum frequency allows the use of tiny inductors and capacitors, resulting in a very small solution. Operating frequency above the AM band avoids interfering with radio reception, making the LT3686 particularly suitable for automotive applications.Cycle-by-cycle current limit and DA current sense provide protection against fault conditions. Soft-start and frequency foldback eliminate input current surge during start-up. An optional internal regulated active load at the output via the BD pin keeps the LT3686 at full switching frequency at light loads, resulting in low, predictable output ripple above the audio and AM bands. Internal compensation and an internal boost diode reduce external component count. LTM4655 Low EMI Dual 13V to 28VIN, +12V/4AOUT and –12V/2.2AOUT Negative μModule Regulator

Demonstration circuit 2594A is a step-down DC/DC converter and an inverting DC/DC converter with a 13V to 28V input voltage range, +12V at 4A, and –12V at up to 2.5A outputs featuring the LTM4655. The LTM4655 is a EN55022B compliant 40V, dual 4A or single 8A step-down or 50W inverting DC/DC μModule® Regulator.
The switching frequencies of both channels are set at 1.2MHz on DC2594A. If the output voltage collapses sufficiently due to an overload or short-circuit condition, the internal oscillator will fold-back to one-fifth of the LTM4655’s programmed switching frequency, protecting the power switch from damage.
The two channels can be paralleled for higher output current. See the data sheet for more information on setting up the board for paralleling the two outputs.
The LTM4655 data sheet gives a complete description of the device, its operation and application information. The data sheet must be read in conjunction with the demo manual prior to working on or modifying DC2594A.
