The MAX148/MAX149 10-bit data-acquisition systems combine an 8-channel multiplexer, high-bandwidthtrack/hold, and serial interface with high conversion speed and low power consumption. They operate from a single +2.7V to +5.25V supply, and sample to 133ksps. Both devices’ analog inputs are software configurable for unipolar/bipolar and single-ended/differential operation.The 4-wire serial interface connects directly to SPI/QSPI™ and MICROWIRE™ devices without external logic. A serial-strobe output allows direct connection to TMS320-family digital signal processors. The MAX148/MAX149 use either the internal clock or an external serial-interface clock to perform successive-approximation analog-to-digital conversions.The MAX149 has an internal 2.5V reference, while the MAX148 requires an external reference. Both parts have a reference-buffer amplifier with a ±1.5% voltage-adjustment range.These devices provide a hard-wired active-low SHDN pin and a software-selectable power-down, and can be programmed to automatically shut down at the end of a conversion. Accessing the serial interface automatically powers up the MAX148/MAX149, and the quick turn-on time allows them to be shut down between all conversions. The ADP121 is a quiescent current, low dropout, linear regulator that operates from 2.3 V to 5.5 V and provides up to 150 mA of output current. The low 135 mV dropout voltage at 150 mA load improves efficiency and allows operation over a wide input voltage range. The low 30 μA of quiescent current at full load makes the ADP121 ideal for battery-operated portable equipment.The ADP121 is available in output voltages ranging from 1.2 V to 3.3 V. The parts are optimized for stable operation with small 1 μF ceramic output capacitors. The ADP121 delivers good transient performance with minimal board area.Short-circuit protection and thermal overload protection circuits prevent damage in adverse conditions. The ADP121 is available in a tiny 5-lead TSOT and 4-ball 0.4 mm pitch WLCSP pack-ages and utilizes the smallest footprint solution to meet a variety of portable applications.

The MAX8586 single current-limited switch controls up to 1.2A to power USB applications and has multiple protection features including thermal shutdown, internal current limiting, and reverse current protection. The thermal shutdown limits junction temperature during a prolonged short or overload condition. The internal current-limiting circuitry protects the input supply against overload and is programmable using an external resistor. The MAX8586 meets all IEC specifications for USB ports.The IC latches off when the output experiences a short circuit for more than 20ms, saving system power. Auto-restart tests the shorted output with a 25mA current to determine if the short still exists. Once the short is removed, the MAX8586 automatically restarts the output. An open-drain fault signal notifies the system that the internal current limit has been reached. A 20ms fault-blanking feature allows the circuit to ignore momentary faults such as those caused when hot-swapping into a capacitive load. An ENRESET input is available to disable the auto-restart function.The MAX8586 features a SEL input that programs ON to be either active high or active low.
