The Renesas RA8D1 MCU group introduces the first 32-bit graphics-enabled microcontrollers (MCUs) based on the Arm Cortex-M85 (CM85) core. Operating at 480 MHz, these MCUs deliver a performance exceeding 3000 CoreMark points and feature advanced graphics capabilities facilitating high-resolution displays and Vision AI applications. Positioned as general-purpose MCU devices, they cater to a wide array of applications across various market segments including Industrial Automation, Home Appliances, Smart Home, Consumer Electronics, Building/Home Automation, and Medical/Healthcare.

Equipped with the high-performance CM85 core, ample memory, and an extensive peripheral set, the RA8D1 MCUs are engineered to meet the demands of diverse graphics and Vision AI applications. Features include a high-resolution TFT-LCD controller with parallel RGB and MIPI-DSI interfaces, a 2D drawing engine, a 16-bit camera interface, and multiple external memory interfaces. These MCUs are available in 176 and 224 pin packages.

Enhanced security features such as advanced cryptographic Security IP, immutable storage, true secure boot, and tamper protection imbue the RA8D1 MCUs with Secure Element-like functionality, ensuring robust security for IoT applications.

Supported by the Flexible Software Package and a comprehensive suite of hardware and software development tools, the RA8D1 MCUs offer extensive support for seamless integration and efficient development.
