The ADF4355-2 allows implementation of fractional-N or integer-N phase-locked loop (PLL) frequency synthesizers when used with an external loop filter and an external reference frequency. A series of frequency dividers permits operation from 54 MHz to 4400 MHz. The ADF4355-2 has an integrated VCO with a fundamental output frequency ranging from 3400 MHz to 6800 MHz. In addition, the VCO frequency is connected to divide by 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, or 64 circuits that allow the user to generate RF output frequencies as low as 54 MHz. For applications that require isolation, the RF output stage can be muted. The mute function is both pin and software controllable.Control of all on-chip registers is through a simple 3-wire interface. The ADF4355-2 operates with analog and digital power supplies ranging from 3.15 V to 3.45 V, with charge pump and VCO supplies from 4.75 V to 5.25 V. The AD9515 features a two-output clock distribution IC in a design that emphasizes low jitter and phase noise to maximize data converter performance. Other applications with demanding phase noise and jitter requirements also benefit from this part.There are two independent clock outputs. One output is LVPECL, while the other output can be set to either LVDS or CMOS levels. The LVPECL output operates to 1.6 GHz. The other output operates to 800 MHz in LVDS mode and to 250 MHz in CMOS mode.Each output has a programmable divider that can be set to divide by a selected set of integers ranging from 1 to 32. The phase of one clock output relative to the other clock output can be set by means of a divider phase select function that serves as a coarse timing adjustment.The LVDS/CMOS output features a delay element with three selectable full-scale delay values (1.5 ns, 5 ns, and 10 ns), each with 16 steps of fine adjustment.The AD9515 does not require an external controller for operation or setup. The device is programmed by means of 11 pins (S0 to S10) using 4-level logic. The programming pins are internally biased to ? VS. The VREF pin provides a level of ? VS. The AD9524 provides a low power, multi-output, clock distribution function with low jitter performance, along with an on-chip PLL and VCO. The on-chip VCO tunes from 3.6 GHz to 4.0 GHz.The AD9524 is designed to support the clock requirements for long term evolution (LTE) and multicarrier GSM base station designs. It relies on an external VCXO to provide the reference jitter cleanup to achieve the restrictive low phase noise requirements necessary for acceptable data converter SNR performance.The input receivers, oscillator, and zero delay receiver provide both single-ended and differential operation. When connected to a recovered system reference clock and a VCXO, the device generates six low noise outputs with a range of 1 MHz to 1 GHz, and one dedicated buffered output from the input PLL (PLL1).
