The ADF41020 frequency synthesizer can be used to implement local oscillators as high as 18 GHz in the up conversion and down conversion sections of wireless receivers and transmitters. It consists of a low noise, digital phase frequency detector (PFD), a precision charge pump, a programmable reference divider, and high frequency programmable feedback dividers (A, B, and P). A complete phase-locked loop (PLL) can be implemented if the synthesizer is used with an external loop filter and voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). The synthesizer can be used to drive external microwave VCOs via an active loop filter. Its very high bandwidth means a frequency doubler stage can be eliminated, simplifying system architecture and reducing cost. The ADF41020 is software-compatible with the existing ADF4106/ADF4107/ADF4108 family of devices from Analog Devices, Inc. The AD9837 is a low power, programmable waveform generatorcapable of producing sine, triangular, and square wave outputs.Waveform generation is required in various types of sensing,actuation, and time domain reflectometry (TDR) applications. The outputfrequency and phase are software programmable, allowing easytuning. The frequency registers are 28 bits: with a 16 MHz clock rate, resolution of 0.06 Hz can be achieved; with a 5 MHz clock rate, the AD9837can be tuned to 0.02 Hz resolution.The AD9837 is written to via a 3-wire serial interface. This serialinterface operates at clock rates up to 40 MHz and is compatiblewith DSP and microcontroller standards. The device operateswith a power supply from 2.3 V to 5.5 V.The AD9837 has a power-down (SLEEP) function. Sections of the device that are not being used can be powered down to minimize the current consumption of the part. The AD9531 provides a multioutput clock generator function and three on-chip phase-locked loop (PLL) cores with SPI programmable output frequencies and formats.PLL1 provides two reference inputs and 10 outputs and includes four user selectable loop configurations. The PLL has a fully integrated loop filter requiring only a single external capacitor (or a series RC network). PLL1 provides a wide range of output frequencies up to 400 MHz and is capable of operating with an external voltage controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) and loop filter, instead of the integrated voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and loop filter.PLL2 is an integer-N PLL providing a single reference input and 12 outputs.
