The ADuM640x devices are quad-channel digital isolators with isoPower®, an integrated, isolated DC/DC converter. Based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology, the DC/DC converter provides up to 500 mW of regulated, isolated power at either 5.0 V or 3.3 V from a 5.0 V input supply, or 3.3 V from a 3.3 V supply at the power levels shown in Table 1. This eliminates the need for a separate, isolated DC/DC converter in low power, isolated designs. The iCoupler chip scale transformer technology is used to isolate the logic signals and for the magnetic components of the DC/DC converter. The result is a small form factor, total isolation solution.The ADuM640x isolators provide four independent isolation channels in a variety of channel configurations and data rates (see the Ordering Guide for more information).isoPower uses high frequency switching elements to transfer power through its transformer. The MAX1447/MAX1496/MAX1498 low-power, 3.5- and4.5-digit, analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with integratedlight-emitting diode (LED) drivers operate from asingle 2.7V to 5.25V power supply. They include aninternal reference, a high-accuracy on-chip oscillator,and a multiplexed LED display driver. An internal chargepump generates the negative supply needed to powerthe integrated input buffers for single-supply operation.The ADC is configurable for either a ±2V or ±200mVinput range and it outputs its conversion results to anLED. The MAX1496 is a 3.5-digit (±1999 count) deviceand the MAX1447/MAX1498 are 4.5-digit (±19,999count) devices.The MAX1447/MAX1496/MAX1498 do not require externalprecision integrating capacitors, autozero capacitors,crystal oscillators, charge pumps, or other circuitryrequired with dual-slope ADCs (commonly used inpanel meter circuits).These devices also feature on-chip buffers for the differentialsignal and reference input, allowing directinterface with high-impedance signal sources. In addition,they use continuous internal offset-calibration andoffer >100dB rejection of 50Hz and 60Hz line noise.Other features include data hold and peak detectionand overrange/underrange detection. The MAX1447features on-demand enhanced offset calibration forimproved offset performance.The MAX1447/MAX1498 are available in a 32-pin, 7mmx 7mm TQFP package and the MAX1496 is available in28-pin SSOP and 28-pin PDIP packages. The MAX9176/MAX9177 are 670MHz, low-jitter, low-skew, 2:1 multiplexers ideal for protection switching, loopback, and clock distribution. The devices feature ultra-low 68ps peak-to-peak deterministic jitter that ensures reliable operation in high-speed links that are highly sensitive to timing errors.The MAX9176 has fail-safe LVDS inputs and an LVDS output. The MAX9177 has 'anything' differential inputs (CML/LVDS/LVPECL) and an LVDS output. The output can be put into high impedance using the power-down input. The MAX9176 features fail-safe circuits that drive the output high when a selected input is open, undriven and shorted, or undriven and terminated. The MAX9177 has bias circuits that force the output high when a selected input is open. The mux select and power-down inputs are compatible with standard LVTTL/LVCMOS logic.The select and power-down inputs tolerate -1V undershoot and VCC + 1V overshoot. The MAX3535E/MXL1535E isolated RS-485/RS-422 full-duplex transceivers provide 2500VRMS of galvanic isolation between the RS-485/RS-422 side and the processor or control logic side. These devices allow fast, 1000kbps communication across an isolation barrier when the common-mode voltages (i.e., the ground potentials) on either side of the barrier are subject to large differences. Isolation is achieved through integrated high-voltage capacitors. The MAX3535E/MXL1535E also feature a 420kHz transformer driver that allows power transfer to the RS-485 side using an external transformer.The MAX3535E/MXL1535E include one differential driver, one receiver, and internal circuitry to send the RS-485 signals and control signals across the isolation barrier (including the isolation capacitors). The MAX3535E/MXL1535E RS-485 receivers are 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 devices on the same bus.The MAX3535E/MXL1535E feature true fail-safe circuitry. The driver outputs and the receiver inputs are protected from ±15kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) on the interface side, as specified in the Human Body Model (HBM).The MAX3535E/MXL1535E feature driver slew-rate select that minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMI) and reduces reflections. The driver outputs are short-circuit and overvoltage protected. Other features are hot-swap capability and isolation-barrier fault detection.The MAX3535E operates with a single +3V to +5.5V power supply. The improved secondary supply range of the MAX3535E allows the use of step-down transformers for +5V operation, resulting in considerable power savings. The MXL1535E operates with a single +4.5V to +5.5V power supply. The MXL1535E is a function-/pin-compatible improvement of the LTC1535. The Maxim ICL7129A/MAX7129 is a high precision monolithic 4-1/2 digit A/D converter that directly drives a multiplexed liquid crystal display. Using a novel 'successive integration' technique, the ICL7129A/MAX7129 has a ±20,000 count resolution on both 2.00000V and 200.00mV ranges. It features high impedance differential inputs, excellent differential linearity, true ratiometric operation and auto polarity. The only external active component required to make precision DVM/DPMs is a reference. The overrange and underrange outputs and the 10:1 range changing input facilitate the design of autoranging systems. The ICL7129A/MAX7129 detects and flags a LOW BATTERY condition and also checks for continuity, giving a visual indication and a logic level output which can be used to generate an audible signal.The MAX7129 has a fullscale accuracy of 0.0005%, resolution of 10µV, zero reading drift of 0.5µV/°C, an input bias of 10pA max, and a rollover error of less than 1 count. Maxim has reduced the noise of the ICL7129A to 3µV—significantly lower than the MAX7129.

The MAX3465-MAX3469 are high-speed differential bus transceivers for RS-485 and RS-422 communications. They are designed to meet TIA/EIA-422-B, TIA/EIA-485-A, V.11, and X.27 standards. The transceiver complies with the PROFIBUS specification providing +2.1V minimum output level with a 54Ω load, 40Mbps data rate, and output skew less than 2ns. Each part contains one three-state differential line driver and one differential input line receiver. The devices operate from a +5V supply and feature true fail-safe circuitry, which guarantees a logic-high receiver output when the receiver inputs are open or shorted. This enables all receiver outputs on a terminated bus to output logic highs when all transmitters are disabled.All devices feature a 1/4-standard-unit load receiver input impedance that allows 128 transceivers on the bus. Driver and receiver propagation delays are guaranteed under 20ns for multidrop, clock distribution applications. Drivers are short-circuit current limited and are protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal-shutdown circuitry.
