The LTC1544 is a 4-driver/4-receiver multiprotocol transceiver. The LTC1544 and LTC1543 form the core of a complete software-selectable DTE or DCE interface port that supports the RS232, RS449, EIA530, EIA530-A, V.35, V.36 or X.21 protocols. Cable termination for the LTC1543 may be implemented using the LTC1344A software-selectable cable termination chip or by using existing discrete designs. The LTC1546 includes software-selectable cable termination on-chip. The LTC1544 runs from a 5V supply and the charge pump on the LTC1543 or LTC1546. The LTC1690 is a low power receiver/driver pair that is compatible with the requirements of RS485 and RS422. The receiver offers a fail-safe feature that guarantees a high receiver output state when the inputs are left open, shorted together or terminated with no signal present. No external components are required to ensure the high receiver output state. Separate driver output and receiver input pins allow full duplex operation. Excessive power dissipation caused by bus contention or faults is prevented by a thermal shutdown circuit which forces the driver outputs into a high impedance state. The LTC1690 is fully specified over the commercial and industrial temperature ranges. The LTC1690 is available in 8-Pin SO, MSOP and PDIP packages. The MAX1447/MAX1496/MAX1498 low-power, 3.5- and4.5-digit, analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with integratedlight-emitting diode (LED) drivers operate from asingle 2.7V to 5.25V power supply. They include aninternal reference, a high-accuracy on-chip oscillator,and a multiplexed LED display driver. An internal chargepump generates the negative supply needed to powerthe integrated input buffers for single-supply operation.The ADC is configurable for either a ±2V or ±200mVinput range and it outputs its conversion results to anLED. The MAX1496 is a 3.5-digit (±1999 count) deviceand the MAX1447/MAX1498 are 4.5-digit (±19,999count) devices.The MAX1447/MAX1496/MAX1498 do not require externalprecision integrating capacitors, autozero capacitors,crystal oscillators, charge pumps, or other circuitryrequired with dual-slope ADCs (commonly used inpanel meter circuits).These devices also feature on-chip buffers for the differentialsignal and reference input, allowing directinterface with high-impedance signal sources. In addition,they use continuous internal offset-calibration andoffer >100dB rejection of 50Hz and 60Hz line noise.Other features include data hold and peak detectionand overrange/underrange detection. The MAX3051 interfaces between the CAN protocol controller and the physical wires of the bus lines in a controller area network (CAN). The MAX3051 provides differential transmit capability to the bus and differential receive capability to the CAN controller. The MAX3051 is primarily intended for +3.3V single-supply applications that do not require the stringent fault protection specified by the automotive industry (ISO 11898).The MAX3051 features four different modes of operation: high-speed, slope-control, standby, and shutdown mode. High-speed mode allows data rates up to 1Mbps. The slope-control mode can be used toprogram the slew rate of the transmitter for data rates of up to 500kbps. This reduces the effects of EMI, thus allowing the use of unshielded twisted or parallel cable. In standby mode, the transmitter is shut off and the receiver is pulled high, placing the MAX3051 in low-current mode. In shutdown mode, the transmitter and receiver are switched off.The MAX3051 input common-mode range is from -7V to +12V, exceeding the ISO 11898 specification of -2V to +7V. These features, and the programmable slew-rate limiting, make the part ideal for nonautomotive, harsh environments. The MAX3050 has an AutoShutdown function that puts the device into a 15µA shutdown mode when the bus or CAN controller is inactive for 4ms or longer.
