The ADuM440x are 4-channel digital isolators based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology. Combining high speed CMOS and monolithic air core transformer technology, these isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics that are superior to the alternatives, such as optocoupler devices and other integrated couplers.The ADuM440x isolators provide four independent isolation channels in a variety of channel configurations and data rates (see the Ordering Guide). All models operate with the supply voltage on either side ranging from 3.0 V to 5.5 V, providing compatibility with lower voltage systems as well as enabling a voltage translation functionality across the isolation barrier. The ADuM440x isolators have a patented refresh feature that ensures dc correctness in the absence of input logic transitions and during power-up/power-down conditions.This family of isolators, like many Analog Devices isolators, offers very low power consumption, consuming one-tenth to one-sixth the power of comparable isolators at comparable data rates up to 10 Mbps. All models of the ADuM440x provide low pulse width distortion (<2 ns for C grade). In addition, every model has an input glitch filter to protect against extraneous noise disturbances.The ADuM440x contain circuit and layout enhancements to help achieve system-level IEC 61000-4-x compliance (ESD/burst/surge). The precise capability in these tests for the ADuM440x are strongly determined by the design and layout of the user’s board or module. Combining high speed, complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) and monolithic air core transformer technologies, these isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics superior to the alternatives, such as optocoupler devices. As shown in Figure 3 in the data sheet, in standard operating mode, when ENx = 0 (internal refresh enabled), the current per channel is less than 10 μA. When ENx = 1 (internal refresh disabled), the current per channel drops to less than 1 μA.The ADuM1440/ADuM1441/ADuM1442/ADuM1445/ADuM1446/ADuM1447 family of quad 2.5 kV digital isolation devices are packaged in a small 16-lead QSOP and 20-lead SSOP, freeing almost 70% of board space compared to isolators packages in wide body SOIC packages.The devices withstand high isolation voltages and meet regulatory requirements, such as UL and CSA standards. In addition to the space savings, the ADuM1440/ADuM1441/ADuM1442/ADuM1445/ADuM1446/ADuM1447 operate with supplies as low as 2.25 V.Despite the low power consumption, all models of the ADuM1440/ADuM1441/ADuM1442/ADuM1445/ADuM1446/ADuM1447 provide low, pulse width distortion at <8 ns. The LTC4310 provides bidirectional I2C communications between two I2C buses whose grounds are isolated from one another. Each LTC4310 encodes I2C bus logic states into signals that are transmitted across an isolation barrier to another LTC4310. The receiving LTC4310 decodes the transmission and drives its l2C bus to the appropriate logic state. The isolation barrier can be bridged by an inexpensive Ethernet, or other transformer, to achieve communications across voltage differences reaching thousands of volts, or it can be bridged by capacitors for lower voltage isolation. The LTC4310-1 is intended for use in 100kHz I2C systems. The LTC4310-2 is intended for 400kHz I2C systems.Rise time accelerators provide strong pull-up currents on SCL and SDA rising edges to meet rise time specifications for heavily loaded systems. Data and clock Hot Swap™ circuitry prevent data corruption when a card is inserted into or removed from a live bus. When a bus is stuck low for 37ms, the LTC4310 turns off its pull-down devices and generates up to sixteen clocks and a STOP bit in an attempt to free the bus. The ADD5205 is a white LED driver for backlight applications based on high efficiency, current mode, step-up converter technology. It is designed with a 0.3 Ω internal switch and 1 MHz fixed operating frequency. The ADD5205 contains four regulated constant current sources for uniform brightness intensity. Each current source is capable of driving up to 25 mA.The ADD5205 has four parallel strings of multiple series connected LEDs with ±2% current matching. The device provides adjustable current sources that drive up to 25 mA using an external resistor. The LED current can be controlled by a PWM signal input on the PWM pin. An internal circuit translates the PWM signal to an analog signal with an external capacitor and linearly controls the LED current.The ADD5205 has multiple safety protection features to prevent any damage during fault conditions. If one or more LEDs are open, the device disables the faulty current regulator automatically. The internal soft start prevents inrush current during startup.
