The ADCsinclude on-chip digital filtering and programmable output datarates that are intended for measuring wide dynamic range andlow frequency signals, such as those in weigh scale, strain gage,pressure transducer, or temperature measurement applications.The devices operate from a 32 kHz crystal with an on-chip PLLgenerating a high frequency clock of 12.58 MHz. This clock isrouted through a programmable clock divider from which theMCU core clock operating frequency is generated. The microcontrollercore is an optimized single-cycle 8052 offering up to12.58 MIPs performance while maintaining 8051 instruction setcompatibility.The available nonvolatile Flash/EE program memory optionsare 62 kbytes, 32 kbytes, and 8 kbytes. 4 kbytes of nonvolatileFlash/EE data memory and 2304 bytes of data RAM are alsoprovided on-chip. The program memory can be configured asdata memory to give up to 60 kbytes of NV data memory indata logging applications.On-chip factory firmware supports in-circuit serial downloadand debug modes (via UART), as well as single-pin emulationmode via the EA pin. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer or variable resistor. The AD8400 contains a single variable resistor in the compact SO-8 package. The AD8402 contains two independent variable resistors in saving SO-14 surface mount package. The AD8403 contains four independent variable resistors in 24-lead PDIP, SOIC and TSSOP packages. Each part contains a fixed resistor with a wiper contact that taps the fixed resistor value at a point determined by a digital code loaded into the controlling serial input register. The resistance between the wiper and either endpoint of the fixed resistor varies linearly with respect to the digital code transferred into the VR latch. Each variable resistor offers a completely programmable value of resistance, between the A terminal and the wiper or the B terminal and the wiper. The fixed A to B terminal resistance of 1 kOhm, 10 kOhm, 50 kOhm or 100 kOhm has a ±1% channel-to-channel matching tolerance with a nominal temperature coefficient of 500 ppm/°C. A unique switching circuit minimizes the high glitch inherent in traditional switched resistor designs avoiding any make-before-break or break-before-make operation.Each VR has its own VR latch that holds its programmed resistance value. The AD9833 is a low power, programmable waveform generator capable of producing sine, triangular, and square wave outputs. Waveform generation is required in various types of sensing, actuation, and time domain reflectometry (TDR) applications. The output frequency and phase are software programmable, allowing easy tuning. No external components are needed. The frequency registers are 28 bits wide: with a 25 MHz clock rate, resolution of 0.1 Hz can be achieved; with a 1 MHz clock rate, the AD9833 can be tuned to 0.004 Hz resolution.The AD9833 is written to via a 3-wire serial interface. This serial interface operates at clock rates up to 40 MHz and is compatible with DSP and microcontroller standards. The device operates with a power supply from 2.3 V to 5.5 V.The AD9833 has a power-down function (SLEEP). This function allows sections of the device that are not being used to be powered down, thus minimizing the current consumption of the part. With 1 dB frequency flatness out to 38 MHz, and 44 dB of rejection at 75 MHz, the ADA4417-3 can handle the most demanding HD video applications.The ADA4417-3 operates on a single 3.3 V to 5 V supply. It is well-suited for applications where power consumption is critical. A disable feature allows for further power conservation by reducing the supply current to 10 μA (typical) when the device is not in use. With rail-to-rail output, it can be efficiently used on a 3.3 V supply, while providing the user with a 2 V p-p output. The buffers can drive two 75 Ω terminated loads, either dc- or ac-coupled.The ADA4417-3 also has an output dc offset function that can operate in two states. When the DCO pin is tied to VCC, the video signal at the output is offset by 200 mV. It is capable of delivering 3 W of continuous output powerwith 100 dB.Spread-spectrum pulse density modulation (PDM) is used toprovide lower EMI-radiated emissions compared with otherClass-D architectures. The inherent randomized nature ofspread-spectrum PDM eliminates the clock intermodulation(beating effect) of several amplifiers in close proximity.The SSM2375 includes an optional modulation select pin(ultralow EMI emissions mode) that significantly reduces theradiated emissions at the Class-D outputs, particularly above100 MHz. In ultralow EMI emissions mode, the SSM2375can pass FCC Class B radiated emission testing with 50 cm,unshielded speaker cable without any external filtering.The device also includes a highly flexible gain select pin thatallows the user to select a gain of 0 dB, 3 dB, 6 dB, 9 dB, or12 dB. The gain selection feature improves gain matchingbetween multiple SSM2375 devices within a single applicationas compared to using external resistors to set the gain.The SSM2375 has a micropower shutdown mode with a typicalshutdown current of 20 nA. The application circuit requires a minimum of external components and operates from a single 2.5 V to 5.5 V supply. It is capable of delivering 2 W of continuous output power with 100 dB.Spread-spectrum pulse density modulation is used to provide lower EMI-radiated emissions compared with other Class-D architectures. An added benefit of spread-spectrum Σ-Δ modu-lation is that no synchronization (SYNC) is needed when using multiple Class-D amplifiers. Shutdown is enabled by applying alogic low to the SD pin or through an optional independent channel soft shutdown via I2C.The device also includes pop-and-click suppression circuitry. Thissuppression circuitry minimizes voltage glitches at the outputduring turn-on and turn-off, reducing audible noise on activationand deactivation.The fully differential inputs of the SSM2380 provides excellentrejection of common-mode noise on the input. Input couplingcapacitors can be omitted if the dc input common-mode voltage isapproximately VDD/2.The SSM2380 is specified over the commercial temperature range(−40°C to +85°C). It has built-in thermal shutdown and outputshort-circuit protection.
