MAX16946GEE/V+
Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX16946/MAX16947 high-voltage, high-side, current-sense LDO/switches feature internal current limiting to prevent system damage due to fault conditions. The MAX16946 provides a fixed regulated 8.5V output voltage or an adjustable 3.3V to 15V output voltage. The MAX16946 can also be configured as a switch, while the MAX16947 is only available as a switch. The input voltage range for both devices extends from 4.5V to 18V (45V tolerant), making the devices ideal for providing phantom power to remote radio-frequency low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) in automotive applications. The devices monitor the load current and provide an analog output voltage proportional to the sensed load current. Accurate internal current limit protects the input supply against both overload and short-circuit conditions. Two open-drain fault indicator outputs indicate to the microprocessor when a short circuit, an open-load condition, or a short-to-battery condition exists. An overtemperature shutdown is also indicated by means of the current-sense amplifier's output voltage. A fault-blanking feature allows the devices to ignore momentary faults such as those caused by the charging of capacitive loads during hot-swapping, preventing false alarms to the system. The devices feature short-to-battery protection to latch off the internal LDO/pass switch during a short-to-battery event. During a thermal overload, the devices reduce power dissipation by going into thermal shutdown. They include an active-low, high-voltage-compatible shutdown input to place them in low-power shutdown mode. The MAX16946 is available in thermally enhanced, 16-pin TQFN-EP and QSOP-EP packages. The MAX16947 is available in a 16-pin QSOP package. Both devices operate over the -40°C to +105°C temperature range.ApplicationsAutomotive Remote Module PowerAutomotive Safety and InfotainmentRemote LNA Phantom Power

DeepCover® embedded security solutions cloak sensitive data under multiple layers of advanced physical security to provide the most secure key storage possible. The DeepCover Secure Authenticator (DS28E35) provides a highly secure solution for a host controller to authenticate peripherals based on the industry standard (FIPS 186) public-key based Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA). The ECDSA engine computes keys and signatures using a pseudorandom curve over a prime field according to the “Standards for Efficient Cryptography (SEC)”. The private and public key can be computed by the device or installed by the user and optionally locked. Separate memory space is set aside to store and lock a public-key certificate as it is needed to verify authenticity. In addition to ECDSA-related memory, the device has 1024 bits of user memory that is organized as four pages of 256 bits. Page protection modes include write protection, read protection, and one-time-programmable (OTP) memory emulation modes. The DS28E35 also features a one-time settable, nonvolatile 17-bit decrement-on-command counter, which can be used to keep track of the lifetime of the object to which the DS28E35 is attached. Each device has its own guaranteed unique 64-bit ROM identification number (ROM ID) that is factory programmed into the chip. This unique ROM ID is used as a fundamental input parameter for cryptographic operations and also serves as an electronic serial number within the application. The DS28E35 communicates over the single-contact 1-Wire® bus at overdrive speed. The communication follows the 1-Wire protocol with the ROM ID acting as node address in the case of a multi-device 1-Wire network.ApplicationsAuthentication of ConsumablesMedical SensorsPeripheral AuthenticationPrinter Cartridge Identification and Authentication

The MAX14808/MAX14809 octal three-level/quad five-level, high-voltage (HV) pulser devices generate high-frequency HV bipolar pulses (up to ±105V) from low-voltage control logic inputs for driving piezoelectric transducers in ultrasound systems. All eight channels have embedded overvoltage-protection diodes and integrated active return-to-zero clamp. Both devices have embedded independent (floating) power supplies (FPS) and level shifters that allow signal transmission without the need for external HV capacitors. The MAX14808 also features eight integrated transmit/receive (T/R) switches. The MAX14809 does not have the T/R switch function. The devices feature two modes of operation: an octal three-level pulser mode (with integrated active return-to-zero clamp) or a quad five-level pulser mode. In octal three-level pulser mode, each channel is controlled by two logic inputs (DINN_/DINP_) and the active return to zero features half the current driving of the pulser 1A (typ). In quad five-level pulser mode, each channel is controlled by three logic inputs and the active return to zero has the same current driving of the pulser 2A (typ). The devices can operate both in clocked and transparent mode. In clocked mode, data inputs can be synchronized with a clean differential or single-ended clock to reduce phase noise associated with FPGA output signals that are detrimental for Doppler analysis. In transparent mode, the synchronization feature is disabled and output reflects the data input after a 18ns delay. Both devices feature adjustable maximum current (0.5A to 2A) to reduce power consumption when full current capability is not required. The devices feature integrated grass-clipping diodes (with low parasitic capacitance) for receive (Rx) and transmit (Tx) isolations. Both devices feature a damping circuit that can be activated as soon as the transmit burst is over. The damping circuit has a typical on-resistance of 500Ω. It fully discharges the pulser's output internal node before the grass-clipping diodes. The devices are available in a 68-pin (10mm x 10mm) TQFN package with an exposed pad and are specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.ApplicationsIndustrial Flaw DetectionPiezoelectric DriversTest EquipmentUltrasound Medical Imaging
