MAX4987AEETA+T
Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX4987AE are overvoltage protection devices with built-in ESD protection for USB data lines. These devices feature a low 100mΩ (typ) RON internal nFET switch and protect low-voltage systems against voltage faults up to +28V. When the input voltage exceeds the overvoltage threshold or decreases below the under-voltage threshold, the internal nFET switch is turned off to prevent damage to the protected components. All switches feature a minimum 1.5A current-limit protection. During a short-circuit occurrence, the switch operates in an autoretry mode where the internal nFET switch is turned on to check if the fault has been removed. The autoretry interval is 30ms, and if the fault is removed, the nFET switch remains on.The MAX4987AE feature low-capacitance (3pF) ESD protection for USB data lines that allow transmission of high-speed USB 2.0 signals. The overvoltage threshold (OVLO) is preset to 6.15V. The undervoltage thresholds (UVLO) are preset to 2.55V (MAX4987AE). When the input voltage drops below the undervoltage (UVLO) threshold, the devices enter a low-current standby mode. All devices are offered in a small 2mm x 3mm, 8-pin TDFN package and operate over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.ApplicationsCell PhonesMedia Players

MAX8688ALETG+
Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX8688 fully integrated digital power-supply controller and monitor IC works with any existing POL (point-of-load) power supply to provide complete digital programmability. By interfacing to the reference input, feedback node, and output enable, the MAX8688 takes control of the POL to provide functions such as perfect tracking, sequencing, margining, and dynamic adjustment of the output voltage. The MAX8688 offers an accurate 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) accompanied with two differential amplifiers for accurately monitoring both voltage and current. An integrated 12-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) is also available to margin power supplies as well as dynamically adjust the output voltage with 0.2% accuracy over temperature using this closed-loop system. An internal temperature sensor provides an additional level of system monitoring. The user-programmable registers provide flexible and accurate control of time events such as a delay time and transition period, monitoring for overvoltage and undervoltage, overcurrent, reverse-current, overtemperature fault and warning handling. The closed-loop operation is also programmable to make sure the MAX8688 works with any existing POL to provide superior regulation accuracy and accurate margining. The MAX8688 operates using a PMBus™-compliant communication protocol. The device is programmed using this protocol or simply with the use of a free graphic-user interface (GUI) available from the Maxim website that significantly reduces development time. Once the configuration is complete, the results can be saved into an EEPROM or loaded onto the part through the PMBus at power-up. This allows remote configuration of any POL using the MAX8688, replacing expensive recalls or field service. Module current sharing is also supported, since accurate current measurement and fine resolution voltage control are available. The MAX8688 can be programmed with up to 127 distinct addresses to support large systems. The MAX8688 is offered in a space-saving, 24-pin, lead-free 4mm x 4mm TQFN package.ApplicationsDC-DC Modules and POLsHigh-Reliability Infrastructure EquipmentServersTelecom Networking

DS1302ZN+
Analog Devices Inc.
The DS1302 trickle-charge timekeeping chip contains a real-time clock/calendar and 31 bytes of static RAM. It communicates with a microprocessor via a simple serial interface. The real-time clock/calendar provides seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information. The end of the month date is automatically adjusted for months with fewer than 31 days, including corrections for leap year. The clock operates in either the 24-hour or 12-hour format with an AM/PM indicator.Interfacing the DS1302 with a microprocessor is simplified by using synchronous serial communication. Only three wires are required to communicate with the clock/RAM: CE, I/O (data line), and SCLK (serial clock). Data can betransferred to and from the clock/RAM 1 byte at a time or in a burst of up to 31 bytes. The DS1302 is designed to operate on very low power and retain data and clock information on less than 1µW.The DS1302 is the successor to the DS1202. In addition to the basic timekeeping functions of the DS1202, the DS1302 has the additional features of dual power pins for primary and backup power supplies, programmable trickle charger for VCC1, and seven additional bytes of scratchpad memory.

MAX126CCAX+D
Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX125/MAX126 are high-speed, multichannel,14-bit data-acquisition systems (DAS) with simultaneoustrack/holds (T/Hs). These devices contain a 14-bit, 3µs,successive-approximation analog-to-digital converter(ADC), a +2.5V reference, a buffered reference input, and a bank of four simultaneous-sampling T/H amplifiersthat preserve the relative phase information of thesampled inputs. The MAX125/MAX126 have two multiplexedinputs for each T/H, allowing a total of eightinputs. In addition, the converter is overvoltage tolerantto ±17V; a fault condition on any channel will not harmthe IC. Available input ranges are ±5V (MAX125) and±2.5V (MAX126).An on-board sequencer converts one to four channelsper active-low CONVST pulse. In the default mode, one T/H output(CH1A) is converted. An interrupt signal (active-low INT) is providedafter the last conversion is complete. Convert two, three, or four channels by reprogramming theMAX125/MAX126 through the bidirectional parallelinterface. Once programmed, the MAX125/MAX126continue to convert the specified number of channelsper active-low CONVST pulse until they are reprogrammed. The channels are converted sequentially, beginning withCH1. The INT signal always follows the end of the lastconversion in a conversion sequence. The ADC convertseach assigned channel in 3µs and stores theresult in an internal 14x4 RAM. Upon completion of theconversions, data can be accessed by applying successivepulses to the active-low RD pin. Four successive readsaccess four data words sequentially. The parallel interface's data-access and bus-releasetiming specifications are compatible with most populardigital signal processors and 16-bit/32-bit microprocessors,so the MAX125/MAX126 conversion results can beaccessed without resorting to wait states.ApplicationsDigital Signal Processing (DSP)Multiphase Motor ControlPower-Factor MonitoringPower-Grid SynchronizationVibration and Waveform Analysis

MAX1602EEE+
Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX1602 DC power-switching IC contains a network of low-resistance MOSFET switches that deliver selectable VCC and VPP voltages to a single CardBus or PC Card host socket. Key features include low-resistance switches, small packaging, soft-switching action, and compliance with PCMCIA specifications for 3V/5V switching. 3.3V-only power switching for fast, 32-bit CardBus applications is supported in two ways: low-resistance 3.3V switches allow high 3.3V load currents (up to 1A); and completely independent internal charge pumps let the 3.3V switch operate normally, even if the +5V and +12V supplies are disconnected or turned off to conserve power. The internal charge pumps are regulating types that draw reduced input current when the VCC switches are static. Power consumption is automatically reduced to 11µA max when the outputs are high-Z or GND.Other key features include guaranteed specifications for output current limit level, and guaranteed specifications for output rise/fall times (in compliance with PCMCIA specifications). Reliability is enhanced by thermal-overload protection, accurate current limiting, an overcurrent-fault flag output, and undervoltage lock-outs. The CMOS/TTL-logic interface is flexible, and can tolerate logic input levels in excess of the positive supply rail. The MAX1602 fits a complete CardBus/PCMCIA switch into a space-saving, 16-pin QSOP package.ApplicationsData LoggingDocking StationsHandy TerminalsPCMCIA Read/Write Drives
