The DS3906 is intended for low resistance, small step-size applications. It contains three nonvolatile (NV), low-temperature coefficient, variable digital resistors that are capable of ohm and subohm increments when used in parallel with a fixed external resistor. All three of the DS3906's resistors have 64 positions (plus a high-Z state) with a pseudo-log response cleverly chosen to have a linear equivalent resistance when paired with an external resistor (see graphs below). The DS3906 also contains 16 bytes of user EEPROM that, in addition to the resistors, are controlled through an I²C-compatible serial interface. Three address pins allow up to eight DS3906s to be placed on the same I²C bus.The DS3906 can also be factory cutomized to provide a variety of transfer functions depending on user requirements. The MAX3311/MAX3313 are low-power, +5V EIA/TIA-232-compatible transceivers. Both devices have one transmitter and one receiver. The transceivers have a proprietary low-dropout transmitter output stage enabling RS-232-compatible operation from a +5V supply with a single inverting charge pump. These devices require only three 0.1µF capacitors and will run at data rates up to 460kbps while maintaining RS-232-compatible output levels.The MAX3311 features a 1µA shutdown mode. In shutdown the device turns off the charge pump, pulls V- to ground, and the transmitter output is disabled. The AD5204/AD5206 provide 4-/6-channel, 256-position digitally controlled variable resistor (VR) devices. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer or variable resistor. Each channel of the AD5204/AD5206 contains a fixed resistor with a wiper contact that taps the fixed resistor value at a point determined by a digital code loaded into the SPI-compatible serial-input register. The resistance between the wiper and either endpoint of the fixed resistor varies linearly with respect to the digital code transferred into the VR latch. The variable resistor offers a completely programmable value of resistance between the A terminal and the wiper or the B terminal and the wiper. The fixed A-to-B terminal resistance of 10 kΩ, 50 kΩ, or 100 kΩ has a nominal temperature coefficient of 700 ppm/°C.Each VR has its own VR latch that holds its programmed resistance value. These VR latches are updated from an internal serial-to-parallel shift register that is loaded from a standard 3-wire serial-input digital interface. Eleven data bits make up the data-word clocked into the serial input register. The first three bits are decoded to determine which VR latch is loaded with the last eight bits of the data-word when the CS strobe is returned to logic high. A serial data output pin at the opposite end of the serial register (AD5204 only) allows simple daisy chaining in multiple VR applications without requiring additional external decoding logic.An optional reset (PR) pin forces all the AD5204 wipers to the midscale position by loading 0x80 into the VR latch.The AD5204/AD5206 are available in the 24-lead surface-mount SOIC and TSSOP packages. The AD5204 is also available in a 32-lead, 5 mm × 5 mm LFCSP package. All parts are guaranteed to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. The MAX3171/MAX3173 are three-driver/three-receiver multiprotocol transceivers that operate from a single +3.3V supply. The MAX3171/MAX3173, along with the MAX3170 and MAX3172/MAX3174, form a complete software-selectable data terminal equipment (DTE) or data communications equipment (DCE) interface port that supports V.28 (RS-232) and V.10/V.11 (RS-449, V.36, EIA-530, EIA-530-A, X.21, RS-423) protocols. The MAX3171/MAX3173 transceivers carry the serial interface control signaling; the MAX3170 transceivers carry the clock and data signals. The MAX3172/MAX3174 have an extra transceiver for applications requiring four transceivers for control signaling.An internal charge pump and proprietary low-dropout transmitter output stage allow V.28, V.11, and V.10 compliant operation from a single +3.3V supply. A no-cable mode is entered when all mode pins (M0, M1, and M2) are pulled high or left unconnected. In no-cable mode, supply current decreases to 2mA and all transmitter and receiver outputs are disabled (high impedance). Short-circuit limiting and thermal-shutdown circuits protect the drivers against excessive power dissipation.The MAX3171 features 10µs deglitching on the V.10/V.11/V.28 receiver inputs. The MAX4548/MAX4549 serial-interface, programmable, triple 3x2 audio/video crosspoint switches are ideal for multimedia applications. The devices include three crosspoint switch matrices, each containing three inputs and two outputs. To improve off-isolation, each switch matrix has a shunt input and each output is selectively programmable for clickless or regular-mode operation. A selectable set of internal resistive voltage dividers supplies DC bias for each output when using AC-coupled inputs. To improve crosstalk, the voltage dividers include four externally accessible bypass points.The MAX4548/MAX4549 feature 35Ω max on-resistance, 7Ω on-resistance matching between channels, 5Ω on-resistance flatness, and 0.07% total harmonic distortion (THD). Additionally, they feature off-isolation of -85dB at 20kHz and -72dB at 10MHz, with crosstalk of -85dB at 20kHz and -55dB at 10MHz. The MAX4548 uses a 2-wire I²-compatible serial interface, while the MAX4549 uses a 3-wire SPI™/QSPI™/MICROWIRE™-compatible serial interface.
