MAX4507EAP+

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX4506/MAX4507 multiple, two-terminal signal-line protectors are pin-compatible with the industry-standard MAX366/MAX367. These new circuit protectors feature fault-protected inputs and rail-to-rail signal handling capability. The input pins are protected from overvoltage faults up to ±36V with power on or ±40V with power off. During a fault condition, the input terminal becomes an open circuit and only nanoamperes of leakage current flow from the source; but the switch output (OUT_) furnishes typically 19mA from the appropriate polarity supply to the load. This ensures unambiguous rail-to-rail outputs when a fault begins and ends. The MAX4506 contains three independent protectors while the MAX4507 contains eight independent protectors. They can protect both unipolar and bipolar analog signals using either unipolar (+9V to +36V) or bipolar (±8V to ±18V) power supplies. These devices have no logic control inputs; the protectors are designed to be always-on when the supplies are on. On-resistance is 100Ω max and matched within 7Ω , and on-leakage is less than 0.5nA at TA = +25°C. The MAX4506 is available in 8-pin SO/DIP packages. The MAX4507 is available in 20-pin SSOP and 18-pin SO/DIP packages.ApplicationsAutomated Test Equipment (ATE)Data Acquisition SystemsHot-Insertion Boards/SystemsProcess Control SystemsRedundant/Backup SystemsSensitive Instruments

MAX126CCAX+D

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX125/MAX126 are high-speed, multichannel,14-bit data-acquisition systems (DAS) with simultaneoustrack/holds (T/Hs). These devices contain a 14-bit, 3µs,successive-approximation analog-to-digital converter(ADC), a +2.5V reference, a buffered reference input, and a bank of four simultaneous-sampling T/H amplifiersthat preserve the relative phase information of thesampled inputs. The MAX125/MAX126 have two multiplexedinputs for each T/H, allowing a total of eightinputs. In addition, the converter is overvoltage tolerantto ±17V; a fault condition on any channel will not harmthe IC. Available input ranges are ±5V (MAX125) and±2.5V (MAX126).An on-board sequencer converts one to four channelsper active-low CONVST pulse. In the default mode, one T/H output(CH1A) is converted. An interrupt signal (active-low INT) is providedafter the last conversion is complete. Convert two, three, or four channels by reprogramming theMAX125/MAX126 through the bidirectional parallelinterface. Once programmed, the MAX125/MAX126continue to convert the specified number of channelsper active-low CONVST pulse until they are reprogrammed. The channels are converted sequentially, beginning withCH1. The INT signal always follows the end of the lastconversion in a conversion sequence. The ADC convertseach assigned channel in 3µs and stores theresult in an internal 14x4 RAM. Upon completion of theconversions, data can be accessed by applying successivepulses to the active-low RD pin. Four successive readsaccess four data words sequentially. The parallel interface's data-access and bus-releasetiming specifications are compatible with most populardigital signal processors and 16-bit/32-bit microprocessors,so the MAX125/MAX126 conversion results can beaccessed without resorting to wait states.ApplicationsDigital Signal Processing (DSP)Multiphase Motor ControlPower-Factor MonitoringPower-Grid SynchronizationVibration and Waveform Analysis

MAX1602EEE+

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX1602 DC power-switching IC contains a network of low-resistance MOSFET switches that deliver selectable VCC and VPP voltages to a single CardBus or PC Card host socket. Key features include low-resistance switches, small packaging, soft-switching action, and compliance with PCMCIA specifications for 3V/5V switching. 3.3V-only power switching for fast, 32-bit CardBus applications is supported in two ways: low-resistance 3.3V switches allow high 3.3V load currents (up to 1A); and completely independent internal charge pumps let the 3.3V switch operate normally, even if the +5V and +12V supplies are disconnected or turned off to conserve power. The internal charge pumps are regulating types that draw reduced input current when the VCC switches are static. Power consumption is automatically reduced to 11µA max when the outputs are high-Z or GND.Other key features include guaranteed specifications for output current limit level, and guaranteed specifications for output rise/fall times (in compliance with PCMCIA specifications). Reliability is enhanced by thermal-overload protection, accurate current limiting, an overcurrent-fault flag output, and undervoltage lock-outs. The CMOS/TTL-logic interface is flexible, and can tolerate logic input levels in excess of the positive supply rail. The MAX1602 fits a complete CardBus/PCMCIA switch into a space-saving, 16-pin QSOP package.ApplicationsData LoggingDocking StationsHandy TerminalsPCMCIA Read/Write Drives

MAX4987AEETA+T

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX4987AE are overvoltage protection devices with built-in ESD protection for USB data lines. These devices feature a low 100mΩ (typ) RON internal nFET switch and protect low-voltage systems against voltage faults up to +28V. When the input voltage exceeds the overvoltage threshold or decreases below the under-voltage threshold, the internal nFET switch is turned off to prevent damage to the protected components. All switches feature a minimum 1.5A current-limit protection. During a short-circuit occurrence, the switch operates in an autoretry mode where the internal nFET switch is turned on to check if the fault has been removed. The autoretry interval is 30ms, and if the fault is removed, the nFET switch remains on.The MAX4987AE feature low-capacitance (3pF) ESD protection for USB data lines that allow transmission of high-speed USB 2.0 signals. The overvoltage threshold (OVLO) is preset to 6.15V. The undervoltage thresholds (UVLO) are preset to 2.55V (MAX4987AE). When the input voltage drops below the undervoltage (UVLO) threshold, the devices enter a low-current standby mode. All devices are offered in a small 2mm x 3mm, 8-pin TDFN package and operate over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.ApplicationsCell PhonesMedia Players
