The MAX14653/MAX14654/MAX14655/MAX14717 overvoltage protection devices feature a low 38mΩ (typ) RON internal FET and protect low-voltage systems against voltage faults up to +28VDC. An internal clamp also protects the devices from surges up to +80V. When the input voltage exceeds the overvoltage threshold, the internal FET is turned off to prevent damage to the protected downstream components. The overvoltage protection threshold can be adjusted with optional external resistors to any voltage between 4V and 20V. With the OVLO input set below the external OVLO select voltage, the MAX14653/MAX14654/MAX14655/MAX14717 automatically choose the accurate internal trip thresholds. The internal overvoltage thresholds (OVLO) are preset to 15.5V typical (MAX14653), 6.8V typical (MAX14654/MAX14717), or 5.825V typical (MAX14655). The devices feature an open-drain active-low ACOK output indicating a stable supply between minimum supply voltage and VOVLO. The MAX14653/MAX14654/MAX14655/MAX14717 are also protected against overcurrent events by an internal thermal shutdown. The MAX14653/MAX14654/MAX14655/MAX14717 are offered in a small 12-bump WLP package and operate over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.ApplicationsMobile Internet DevicesSmart PhonesTablet PCs

The MAX14808/MAX14809 octal three-level/quad five-level, high-voltage (HV) pulser devices generate high-frequency HV bipolar pulses (up to ±105V) from low-voltage control logic inputs for driving piezoelectric transducers in ultrasound systems. All eight channels have embedded overvoltage-protection diodes and integrated active return-to-zero clamp. Both devices have embedded independent (floating) power supplies (FPS) and level shifters that allow signal transmission without the need for external HV capacitors. The MAX14808 also features eight integrated transmit/receive (T/R) switches. The MAX14809 does not have the T/R switch function. The devices feature two modes of operation: an octal three-level pulser mode (with integrated active return-to-zero clamp) or a quad five-level pulser mode. In octal three-level pulser mode, each channel is controlled by two logic inputs (DINN_/DINP_) and the active return to zero features half the current driving of the pulser 1A (typ). In quad five-level pulser mode, each channel is controlled by three logic inputs and the active return to zero has the same current driving of the pulser 2A (typ). The devices can operate both in clocked and transparent mode. In clocked mode, data inputs can be synchronized with a clean differential or single-ended clock to reduce phase noise associated with FPGA output signals that are detrimental for Doppler analysis. In transparent mode, the synchronization feature is disabled and output reflects the data input after a 18ns delay. Both devices feature adjustable maximum current (0.5A to 2A) to reduce power consumption when full current capability is not required. The devices feature integrated grass-clipping diodes (with low parasitic capacitance) for receive (Rx) and transmit (Tx) isolations. Both devices feature a damping circuit that can be activated as soon as the transmit burst is over. The damping circuit has a typical on-resistance of 500Ω. It fully discharges the pulser's output internal node before the grass-clipping diodes. The devices are available in a 68-pin (10mm x 10mm) TQFN package with an exposed pad and are specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.ApplicationsIndustrial Flaw DetectionPiezoelectric DriversTest EquipmentUltrasound Medical Imaging

DS28C39Q+U
Analog Devices Inc.
The DS28C39 is an ECDSA public-key-based bidirectional secure authenticator that incorporates Maxim’s patented ChipDNA™ feature, a physically unclonable function (PUF) to provide a cost-effective solution with the ultimate protection against security attacks. Using the random variation of semiconductor device characteristics that naturally occur during wafer fabrication, the ChipDNA circuit generates a unique output value that is repeatable over time, temperature, and operating voltage. Attempts to probe or observe ChipDNA operation modifies the underlying circuit characteristics, preventing discovery of the unique value used by the chip cryptographic functions. The DS28C39 utilizes the ChipDNA output as key content to cryptographically secure all device stored data and as the private key for the ECDSA signing operation. With ChipDNA capability, the device provides a core set of cryptographic tools derived from integrated blocks including an asymmetric (ECC-P256) hardware engine, a FIPS/NIST-compliant true random number generator (TRNG), 2Kb of secured EEPROM, a decrement-only counter and a unique 64-bit ROM identification number (ROM ID). The ECC public/ private key capabilities operate from the NIST-defined P-256 curve to provide a FIPS 186-compliant ECDSA signature generation function. The unique ROM ID is used as a fundamental input parameter for cryptographic operations and serves as an electronic serial number within the application. Lastly, the DS28C39 supports I2C communication at the 100kHz standard mode.ApplicationsAuthentication of Medical Sensors and ToolsSecure Management of Limited Use ConsumablesIoT Node AuthenticationPeripheral AuthenticationReference Design License ManagementPrinter Cartridge Identification and Authentication
