Demonstration circuit 1055 is a 250mA Universal Nine Channel Multimode (1x, 1.5x, 2x) Charge Pump LED Driver with two RGB displays and three white LEDs featuring the LTC3219. The LTC3219 is a low noise charge pump designed to drive nine universal LED current sources. The input voltage range is 2.9V to 5.5V. Each channel provides 28mA of LED current. The LTC3219 requires only five small ceramic capacitors to form a complete LED power supply and current controller. The maximum display currents are set with an internal precision current reference. On/Off blinking, gradation, and intensity are achieved via an I2C serial interface. There are 64 dimming states available for the universal LEDs. The DC590 controller board is required for proper operation.

Demo circuit DC1274A features the LTM8040 36V, 1A step-down constant current μModule® LED driver. The demonstration circuit is designed to drive a single LED or string of LEDs at up to 1A from a wide input voltage range of 4V to 36V. The maximum LED string voltage is 13V and the minimum voltage varies depending upon the BIAS pin supply arrangement.

Demonstration Circuit 1279 is a full-featured, multitopology LED driver with 1.5A switch current featuring the LT3518. The board is optimized to drive a 330mA LED string with a total LED voltage between the input voltage and 40V in a boost topology. The input voltage range (VIN) is 3V to 30V, and the supply pin that powers the switcher (PVIN) has an input voltage range of 3V to 40V.

The LT3797 is a triple output DC/DC controller designed to drive three strings of LEDs. The fixed frequency, current mode architecture results in stable operation over a wide range of supply and output voltages. The LT3797 includes an integrated DC/DC converter to produce a regulated 7.5V supply for the N-channel MOSFET gate drivers of the three channels. This high efficiency converter enables the part to operate from a wide input voltage range from 2.5V to 40V. The LT3797 is designed so that each converter can use the most suitable configuration to drive its LED load, whether step-up, step-down or a combination. Two key features enable this flexibility: first the LT3797 can sense output current at the high side of the LED string; and second, the voltage feedback pin, FBH, is referred to the ISP current sensing input. The CTRL inputs provide output current analog dimming capability. The ADP8140 provides high current control of up to four LED drivers. Each driver can sink up to 500 mA. The sink current is programmed for all four drivers with one external resistor.The device features a feedback output that controls an external power supply for optimal efficiency. The ADP8140 also protects the LEDs, power supply, and itself against thermal events, short circuits, overvoltages, and LED open circuits. Multiple ADP8140 ICs are easily connected in parallel to drive additional LED strings or higher current LEDs. Demonstration circuit 1137 is a 20mA Six White LED Driver and OLED driver with Integrated Schottky featuring the LT3498. The LT3498 is a dual output boost converter featuring a 2.3MHz PWM LED driver and a PFM (Pulse Frequency Modulation) OLED driver. The demo board is designed to operate from 3V to 5V, ideal for Li Ion battery powered dual display applications, such as main and sub-displays for cell phones. The demo board offers flexible LED dimming methods. Users can use DC dimming, filtered PWM dimming or direct PWM dimming. The parts functions as a “one-wire” current source from the LED string point of view. The circuit protection clamps LED driver output to 27V (typ) if an open circuit condition occurs. When CTRL2 is higher than 1.5V, the demo board OLED supply output voltage is 16V. It can deliver up to 24mA from a 3V source.

Demonstration circuit 1288 is a Triple Boost or Buck-Boost LED Driver featuring the LT3496EUFD (for evaluating an LT3496 buck mode LED driver, use the demonstration circuit 986). The LT3496 is a triple output DC/DC converter designed to operate as current sources for driving high current LEDs. The board can be configured as either a buck-boost (default) or boost solution. The current for each output is set at 200mA in either mode. The three LEDs are included in the demo board assembly. The operating power input voltage (PVIN) range is 8V to 16V. The buck-boost circuit can tolerate an input voltage up to 40V when the LED string is on the high side. The part shuts down when the overvoltage threshold is reached. For a typical application with 5 LEDs totaling 16V of LED voltage, the circuit will operate until PVIN reaches 22V if the overvoltage protection is set to 38V.

Demonstration circuit 2020A is a 60VIN, 80VOUT LED driver. It generates its own PWMOUT waveform from its internal PWM generator for accurate PWM dimming with up to 33:1 brightness ratio. It accepts an input voltage from 5V to 60V and drives up to 67V of LEDs at 300mA (when PVIN is less than VLED). DC2020A features both PWM and analog dimming of the LED string. It has an OPENLED flag that indicates when the LED string has been removed. DC2020A features high efficiency at 350kHz switching frequency. At high LED string voltages up to 67V and 300mA of LED current, the single switch controller has 92% efficiency. The LT3955 has an internal 80V, 3.5A switch that simplifies the schematic and layout.
