The HMC416LP4(E) is a GaAs InGaP Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) MMIC VCO with integrated resonator, negative resistance device, varactor diode, and buffer amplifier. Covering 2.75 to 3.0 GHz, the VCO’s phase noise performance is excellent over temperature, shock, vibration and process due to the oscillator’s monolithic structure. Power output is 4.5 dBm typical from a single supply of 3V @ 37 mA. The VCO's phase noise performance is excellent over temperature, shock, and process due to the oscillator's monolithic structure. Power output is +9 dBm typical from a +4.2V supply voltage. The HMC881LP5E is a MMIC low pass filter which features a user selectable cutoff frequency. The cutoff frequency can be varied from 2.2 to 4.0 GHz by applying a single analog tuning voltage between 0 and 14V. This low pass filter provides a low 3.8 dB insertion loss, 10 dB return loss and 1.25 x ƒcutoff stopband attenuation of >20 dB. This tunable filter can be used as a much smaller alternative to physically large switched filter banks and cavity tuned filters. The HMC881LP5E has excellent microphonics due to the monolithic design, and provides a dynamically adjustable solution in advanced communications applications.
