ADM13305-33ARZ

Analog Devices Inc.
The ADM13305 is a dual voltage supervisor designed to monitor two supplies and provide a reset signal to DSP and microprocessor-based systems. There are five models available, all of which feature a combination of internally pretrimmed undervoltage threshold options for monitoring 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.3 V, and 5 V supplies. There is also an adjustable input option with an undervoltage threshold voltage of 0.6 V.The ADM13305-18, ADM13305-25, and ADM13305-33 models have two internally fixed thresholds. The ADM13305-4 and ADM13305-5 offer one internally fixed threshold and one externally programmable threshold via a resistor string. See the Ordering Guide for a list of all available options.During power-up, RESETis asserted when the supply voltage exceeds 1.1 V. The device then monitors the SENSEv input pins and holds the RESET output low as long as either of the SENSEv inputs remains below the rising threshold voltage, VIT+.Once the supplies monitored at the SENSEv inputs rise above their associated thresholds, the reset signal remains low for the reset timeout period before deasserting. Subsequently, if a voltage monitored by the SENSEv pins falls below its associated falling threshold, VIT−, RESET the output asserts. The ADM13305 features both an active high RESET and an active low RESET output. As well as providing power-on reset signals, an on-chip watchdog timer can reset the microprocessor if it fails to strobe within the preset timeout period. A reset signal can also be asserted by an external push button through the manual reset input pin.The ADM13305 is available in an 8-lead, narrow body SOIC package. The device operates over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C.APPLICATIONS Supervising DSPs/microcontrollers Industrial and portable equipment Wireless systems Notebook/desktop computers

The LTC2924 is a power supply sequencer designed for use with external N-channel MOSFETs or power supplies with shutdown pins. Four power supplies can be fully sequenced by a single LTC2924 and up to five supplies can be sequenced to a sixth master supply. The LTC2924 requires a minimum of external components, using only two feedback resistors per sequenced power supply and a single resistor to set hysteresis. An internally regulated charge pump provides gate drive voltages for external logic and sub-logic-level MOSFETs. Adding a single capacitor enables an adjustable time delay between power supplies during both Power On and Power Off sequencing. A second capacitor can be added to enable a power good timer for detecting the failure of any power supply to turn on within the selected time. Errors in power supply sequencing and the control input are detected and reported at the FAULT output. The LTC2924 features precision input comparators which can provide 1% accuracy in monitoring power supply voltages.Multiple LTC2924s may be easily cascaded to sequence a virtually unlimited number of power supplies.Applications Sequenced Power Supplies for ASICs with Multiple I/O and Core Voltages Latch-Up Prevention in Systems with Multiple Power Supplies

AD636KHZ

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD636 is a low power monolithic IC that performs true rms-to-dc conversion on low level signals. It offers performance that is comparable or superior to that of hybrid and modular converters costing much more. The AD636 is specified for a signal range of 0 mV to 200 mV rms. Crest factors up to 6 can be accommodated with less than 0.5% additional error, allowing accurate measurement of complex input waveforms. The low power supply current requirement of the AD636, typically 800 μA, is ideal for battery-powered portable instruments. It operates from a wide range of dual and single power supplies, from ±2.5 V to ±16.5 V or from +5 V to +24 V. The input and output terminals are fully protected; the input signal can exceed the power supply with no damage to the device (allowing the presence of input signals in the absence of supply voltage), and the output buffer amplifier is short-circuit protected. The AD636 includes an auxiliary dB output derived from an internal circuit point that represents the logarithm of the rms output. The 0 dB reference level is set by an externally supplied current and can be selected to correspond to any input level from 0 dBm (774.6 mV) to −20 dBm (77.46 mV). Frequency response ranges from 1.2 MHz at 0 dBm to greater than 10 kHz at −50 dBm.The AD636 is easy to use. The device is factory-trimmed at the wafer level for input and output offset, positive and negative waveform symmetry (dc reversal error), and full-scale accuracy at 200 mV rms. Therefore, no external trims are required to achieve full-rated accuracy. The AD636 is available in two accuracy grades. The total error of the J-version is typically less than ±0.5 mV ± 1.0% of reading, while the total error of the AD636K is less than ±0.2 mV to ±0.5% of reading. Both versions are temperature rated for operation between 0°C and 70°C and available in 14-lead SBDIP and 10-lead TO-100 metal can.The AD636 computes the true root-mean-square of a complex ac (or ac plus dc) input signal and gives an equivalent dc output level. The true rms value of a waveform is a more useful quantity than the average rectified value because it is a measure of the power in the signal. The rms value of an ac-coupled signal is also its standard deviation. The 200 mV full-scale range of the AD636 is compatible with many popular display-oriented ADCs. The low power supply current requirement permits use in battery-powered hand-held instruments. An averaging capacitor is the only external component required to perform measurements to the fully specified accuracy is. Its value optimizes the trade-off between low frequency accuracy, ripple, and settling time.An optional on-chip amplifier acts as a buffer for the input or the output signals. Used in the input, it provides accurate performance from standard 10 MΩ input attenuators. As an output buffer, it sources up to 5 mA.

AD637KDZ

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD637 is a complete, high accuracy, rms-to-dc converter that computes the true rms value of any complex waveform. It offers performance that is unprecedented in integrated circuit rms-to-dc converters and comparable to discrete and modular techniques in accuracy, bandwidth, and dynamic range. The AD637 computes the true root mean square, mean square, or absolute value of any complex ac (or ac plus dc) input waveform and gives an equivalent dc output voltage. The true rms value of a waveform is more useful than an average rectified signal because it relates directly to the power of the signal. The rms value of a statistical signal relates to the standard deviation of the signal.Superior crest factor compensation permits measurements of signals with crest factors of up to 10 with less than 1% additional error. The wide bandwidth of the AD637 permits the measurement of signals up to 600 kHz with inputs of 200 mV rms and up to 8 MHz when the input levels are above 1 V rms.Direct dB value of the rms output with a range of 60 dB is available on a separate pin. An externally programmed reference current allows the user to select the 0 dB reference voltage to correspond to any level between 0.1 V and 2.0 V rms.A chip select connection on the AD637 permits the user to decrease the supply current from 2.2 mA to 350 µA during periods when the rms function is not in use. This feature facilitates the addition of precision rms measurement to remote or handheld applications where minimum power consumption is critical. In addition, when the AD637 is powered down, the output goes to a high impedance state. This allows several AD637s to be tied together to form a wideband true rms multiplexer. The input circuitry of the AD637 is protected from overload voltages in excess of the supply levels. The inputs are not damaged by input signals if the supply voltages are lost. The AD637 is laser wafer trimmed to achieve rated performance without external trimming. The only external component required is a capacitor that sets the averaging period. The value of this capacitor also determines low frequency accuracy, ripple level, and settling time. The on-chip buffer amplifier is used either as an input buffer or in an active filter configuration. The filter can be used to reduce the amount of ac ripple, thereby increasing accuracy. The AD637 is available in accuracy Grade J and Grade K for commercial temperature range (0°C to 70°C) applications, accuracy Grade A and Grade B for industrial range (−40°C to +85°C) applications, and accuracy Grade S rated over the −55°C to +125°C temperature range. All versions are available in hermetically sealed, 14-lead SBDIP, 14-lead CERDIP, and 16-lead SOIC_W packages.
