Demonstration circuit 1286A is DC/DC boost converter featuring the LTC3862EGN/-1 constant frequency current mode boost controllers. The DC1286A-A (LTC3862) operates over 5V to 36V input and provides 2A-5A of output current at 48V output. The DC1286A-B (LTC3862-1, higher VIN min and higher gate drive) operates over 8V to 36V input and provides 3A-5A of output current at 48V output. The 200kHz constant frequency operation results in small and efficient circuit. The converter provides high output voltage accuracy (typically ±3%) over wide load range with no minimum load requirement. The demonstration circuit can be easily modified to generate different output voltages.

Demonstration circuit 1289 is a no RSENSE synchronous step-down DC/DC converter featuring the LTC3879EUD. Its output supplies 1.2V @ 15A and its input voltage range is from 4.5V to 14V. The LTC3879 allows operation from 4V to 38V at the input and has an output voltage range of 0.6V to 0.9VIN.

The LT1939 is a current mode PWM step-down DC/DC converter with an internal 2.3A switch. The wide input range of 3V to 25V makes the LT1939 suitable for regulating power from a wide variety of sources, including automotive batteries, industrial supplies and unregulated wall adapters.Resistor-programmable 250kHz to 2.2MHz frequency range and synchronization capability enable optimization between efficiency and external component size. Cycle-by-cycle current limit, frequency foldback and thermal shutdown provide protection against a shorted output. Demonstration circuit DC2448A-C features a PolyPhase® design using the LTM4636EY, a 40A high efficiency, switch mode step-down power µModule® regulator. The input voltage range is from 4.7V to 15V. When VIN < 5.5V, short PVCC to VIN with R1 = 0Ω, and set R3 = 0Ω and remove R2. The output voltage range is 0.6V to 3.3V. The DC2448A-C can deliver a nominal 160A output current. As explained in the data sheet, output current derating is necessary for certain VIN, VOUT and thermal conditions. The board operates in continuous conduction mode in heavy load conditions. For high efficiency at low load currents, the MODE_PLLIN jumper selects pulse-skipping mode for noise sensitive applications or Burst Mode® operation in less noise sensitive applications. The MODE_PLLIN pin also allows the LTM4636 to synchronize to an external clock signal. The phases of the four LTM4636s are 0 degree, 90 degree, 180 degree and 270 degree. DC2448A-C has the option of choosing both internal and external compensation circuit for LTM4636. The LTM4636 datasheet must be read in conjunction with this demo manual prior to working on or modifying demo circuit DC2448A-C.

Demonstration circuit SCP-ADP7142-EVALZ is a 40V, 200mA low dropout (LDO) regulator designed to allow low noise operation in noise sensitive circuits. It is easily con-figured for a wide output range and can provide extremely quiet operation with its high PSRR. Like all boards in the Signal Chain Power series, this board is designed to be easily plugged into other SCP boards to form a complete signal chain power system, enabling fast evaluation of low power signal chains.
