The LTM4677 is a dual 18A or single 36A step-down ?Module? (power module) DC/DC regulator with 40ms turn0on time. It features remote configurability and telemetry-monitoring of power management parameters over PMBus?an open standard I2C-based digital interface protocol. The LTM4677 is comprised of fast analog control loops, precision mixedsignal circuitry, EEPROM, power MOSFETs, inductors and supporting components.The LTM4677?s 2-wire serial interface allows outputs to be margined, tuned and ramped up and down at programmable slew rates with sequencing delay times. Input and output currents and voltages, output power, temperatures, uptime and peak values are readable. Custom configuration of the EEPROM contents is not required. At start-up, output voltages, switching frequency, and channel phase angle assignments can be set by pin-strapping resistors. The LTpowerPlay? Demonstration circuit 2081A-B features the LTM4630EY-1, the high efficiency, high density, dual 18A, switch mode step-down μModule® regulator with ±0.8% total DC output accuracy. The input voltage is from 4.5V to 15V. The output voltage is programmable from 0.6V to 1.8V. DC2081A-B is configured as dual-phase, single-output, which can deliver up to 36A maximum. With the help of external compensation, ±3% transient accuracy can be achieved with 25% load step. The board designs with minimum components to demonstrate this high efficiency, high density μModule.

The LTC3880/LTC3880-1 are dual, PolyPhase DC/DC synchronous step-down switching regulator controllers with an I2C-based PMBus compliant serial interface. The controllers use a constant frequency, current mode architecture that is supported by LTpowerPlay? software development tool with graphical user interface (GUI).Switching frequency, output voltage, and device address can be programmed using external configuration resistors. Parameters can be set via the digital interface or stored in EEPROM. Voltage, current, internal/external temperature and fault status can be read back through the bus interface. The LTC3880 incorporates a 5V linear regulator while the LTC3880-1 uses an external 5V supply for minimum power loss. See comparison to LTC3887 below. The LTC3300-1 is a fault-protected controller IC for transformer-based bidirectional active balancing of multicell battery stacks. All associated gate drive circuitry, precision current sensing, fault detection circuitry and a robust serial interface with built-in watchdog timer are integrated.Each LTC3300-1 can balance up to 6 series-connected battery cells with an input common mode voltage up to 36V. Charge from any selected cell can be transferred at high efficiency to or from 12 or more adjacent cells. A unique level-shifting SPI-compatible serial interface enables multiple LTC3300-1 devices to be connected in series, without opto-couplers or isolators, allowing for balancing of every cell in a long string of series-connected batteries.When multiple LTC3300-1 devices are connected in series they can operate simultaneously, permitting all cells in the stack to be balanced concurrently and independently. Fault protection features include readback capability, cyclic redundancy check (CRC) error detection, maximum on-time volt-second clamps, and overvoltage shutoffs. Features LTC3300-1 SPI-compatible serial interface in which each chip in the stack communicates bidirectionally to the chips of the same type above and below it via currents. There is no limit to the stack height. Large common mode voltage differences are handled by each LTC3300-1. The microprocessor in the BMS system communicates ONLY with the bottom chip in the stack and subsequently all of the chips use the same fixed internal address. LTC3300-2 SPI-compatible serial interface in which each chip has a unique 5-bit pin-strapped address. The microprocessor in the BMS system communicates directly with every chip in the stack with common mode voltage differences handled by digital isolators or opto-couplers. Because of the 5-bit address, the stack height is limited to 32 LTC3300-2 ICs or 192 cells (~800V). There are 5 pins which have a different assignment, all of them serial interface related. The ADM1073 is a full-feature, negative voltage, hot swap controller that allows boards to be safely inserted and removed from a live ?48 V backplane. The part provides precise and robust current limiting, and protection against both transient and nontransient short circuits in overvoltage and undervoltage conditions. The ADM1073 can operate from a negative voltage of ?18 V to ?80 V and can tolerate transient voltages of up to ?200 V.Inrush current is limited to a programmable value by control-ling the gate drive of an external N-channel FET. The maximum current limit is set by the choice of the sense resistor, RSENSE.A built-in soft start function allows control of the inrush current profile by an external capacitor on the soft start (SS) pin.An external capacitor on the TIMER pin determines the time for which the FET gate is controlled to be high when maximum inrush current flows. The ADM1260 Super Sequencer? is a configurable supervisory/sequencing device that offers a single-chip solution for supply monitoring and sequencing in multiple supply systems.A high speed interchip bus (ICB) allows multiple devices to be easily linked together. It is possible to create a system capable of sequencing up to 40 supplies and monitoring up to 37 supplies. Using the ADI Power Studio? software, the operation of the ICB is transparent to the user, making multiple devices appear to operate as a single virtual sequencer.In addition to these functions, the ADM1260 integrates a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and six 8-bit voltage output digital-to-analog converters (DACs). Use the ADC and the DACs to implement a closed-loop margining system that enables supply adjustment by altering either the feedback node or the reference of a dc-to-dc converter using the DAC outputs.Supply margining can be performed with a minimum of external components. The margining loop can be used for in-circuit testing of a board during production (for example, to verify board functionality at ?5% of nominal supplies), or it can be used dynamically to accurately control the output voltage of a dc-to-dc converter.The device also provides up to 10 programmable inputs for monitoring undervoltage faults, overvoltage faults, or out of window faults on up to 10 supplies. In addition, 10 programmable outputs can be used as logic enables. Six of these programmable outputs can also provide an output of up to 12 V for driving the gate of an N-FET that can be placed in the path of a supply.The logical core of the device is a sequencing engine (SE). This state machine-based construction provides up to 61 different states. This design enables very flexible sequencing of the outputs, based on the condition of the inputs.A block of nonvolatile EEPROM is available that can be used to store user defined information and can also be used to hold a number of fault records that are written by the sequencing engine, as defined by the user when a particular fault or sequence occurs.The device is controlled via configuration data that can be programmed into an EEPROM.
