Demonstration circuit SCP-LT3471-EVALZ is a dual output converter featuring the LT3471EDD in boost and inverter configurations. Both converters are powered from the same 4.5V to 10V input source. The Boost converter puts out 12V at 300mA and the Inverter –12V at 200mA. Like all boards in the Signal Chain Power series, this board is designed to be easily plugged into other SCP boards to form a complete signal chain power system, enabling fast evaluation of low power signal chains. The ADM1073 is a full-feature, negative voltage, hot swap controller that allows boards to be safely inserted and removed from a live ?48 V backplane. The part provides precise and robust current limiting, and protection against both transient and nontransient short circuits in overvoltage and undervoltage conditions. The ADM1073 can operate from a negative voltage of ?18 V to ?80 V and can tolerate transient voltages of up to ?200 V.Inrush current is limited to a programmable value by control-ling the gate drive of an external N-channel FET. The maximum current limit is set by the choice of the sense resistor, RSENSE.A built-in soft start function allows control of the inrush current profile by an external capacitor on the soft start (SS) pin.An external capacitor on the TIMER pin determines the time for which the FET gate is controlled to be high when maximum inrush current flows. Demonstration circuit 950A-A is an isolated, 30W multi-output, synchronous flyback converter in 1/8 brick format featuring the LT3825. Output voltage sensing is implemented without the use of opto-coupler, by sensing the voltage across a primary side auxiliary winding. A load compensation circuit is used to compensate for voltage drops caused by load currents. DC950A-A has input voltage range 36V-72V and features the LT3825. Demonstration circuit 950A uses a transformer design with tapped secondary winding, to achieve higher efficiency and better cross regulation than is possible with a transformer that uses a separate winding for each output.

Demonstration circuit 957 is a wide input range, 3.3V / 3.0A output synchronous buck-boost controller featuring the LTC3785. This circuit was designed to demonstrate the high levels of performance, efficiency, and small solution size attainable using this part in a buck-boost power supply. It operates at 500kHz and produces a regulated 3.3V, 3.0A output from an input voltage range of 2.7 to 10V. It is suitable for portable applications, and has a footprint area that is 0.36 square inches. Synchronous rectification helps to attain efficiency up to 96%, depending on line and load. The LTC3785 provides current limit and shutdown disconnect. It offers Burst Mode® operation for high efficiency at light loads.

Demonstration circuit 992 is a Step-Down Converter, using the LTC3549 monolithic synchronous buck regulator. The DC992A has an input voltage range of 1.6V to 5.5V, and is  capable of delivering up to 250 mA of output current at a minimum input voltage of 1.8V. The output voltage of the DC992A can be set as low as 0.611V, the reference voltage of the LTC3549. At low load currents, the DC992A can operate in either noise sensitive applications, due to the capability of the LTC3549 to operate in pulse-skipping mode, or in high  efficiency applications, because the LTC3549 can also operate in Burst-Mode.

The ADP2300?/ ADP2301 are compact, constant-frequency, current-mode, step-down dc-to-dc regulators with integrated power MOSFET. The ADP2300/ADP2301 devices run from any input voltage from 3.0 V up to 20 V, making them suitable for a wide range of applications. A precise, low voltage internal reference makes these devices ideal for generating a regulated output voltage as low as 0.8 V, with ?2% accuracy, for up to 1.2 A load current.There are two frequency options: the ADP2300 runs at 700 kHz and the ADP2301 runs at 1.4 MHz. These options allow users to make decisions based on the trade-off between efficiency and the size of the total solution.
