The LTC2950 is a micropower, wide input voltage range, pushbutton ON/OFF controller. The part contains a pushbutton input with independently programmable ON and OFF debounce times that control the toggling of an open drain enable output. The part also contains a simple microprocessor interface to allow for proper system housekeeping prior to power down. Under system fault conditions, an internal KILL timer ensures proper power down.The LTC2950 operates over a wide 2.7V to 26.4V input voltage range to accommodate a wide variety of input power supplies. Very low quiescent current (6?A typical) makes the LTC2950 ideally suited for battery powered applications. Two versions of the part are available to accommodate either positive or negative enable polarities. Demonstration circuit 932A is an adjustable 1A linear regulator featuring LT3022. The LT3022 is a very low dropout voltage (VLDO™) linear regulator that operates from input supplies down to 0.9V. The device supplies 1A of output current with 145mV typical dropout voltage. The LT3022 is ideal for low input voltage to low output voltage applications, providing comparable electrical efficiency to a switching regulator. The demo board has an input voltage range from 1V to 10V and provides a jumper-selectable output voltage of 0.9V, 1V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V or a user-defined value down to 200mV. The regulator optimizes stability and transient response with low ESR ceramic output capacitors as small as 10µF. Other LT3022 features include 0.05% typical line regulation and 0.05% typical load regulation. In shutdown, the quiescent current typically drops to 7.5µA. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse-battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting with hysteresis and reverse-current protection.

Demonstration circuit DC937A is a complete power controller for a USB powered device. It is based on the LTC4085 and provides a constant-current, constant-voltage linear battery charger, a USB power manager with PowerPath management for the battery. The 700mA CC/CV timer terminated, temperature qualified, linear charger targets Li-Ion batteries, and the USB power manager insures compliance with the USB power specification and PowerPath management for the battery. The demo board's input voltage range is 4.5V to 5.5V.

Demonstration circuit SCP-ADP7182-EVALZ is a –28V, –200mA Low Dropout (LDO) regulator designed to allow low noise operation in noise sensitive circuits. It is easily configured for a wide output range and can provide extremely quiet operation with its high PSRR. Like all boards in the Signal Chain Power series, this board is designed to be easily plugged into other SCP boards to form a complete signal chain power system, enabling fast evaluation of low power signal chains. Demonstration circuit 2910A is low VIN, high efficiency, and dual 2A output µModule DC/DC converter. The board operates by default at a fixed 2MHz and can be synchronized from 1MHz to 3MHz via the MODE/SYNC pin. With its high switching frequency and current mode architecture, a fast transient response to line and load changes is possible without sacrificing stability. The DC2910A can be used in forced continuous mode or pulse skip mode for low noise, or in burst mode operation for high efficiency at light loads. The demo board features the LTM4691, which is available in a low profile 3mm x 4mm x 1.2mm LGA package. Please see the LTM4691 datasheet for more detailed information. It is recommended to read the data sheet for the LTM4691 prior to making any changes to the DC2910A.
