MAX1706EEE+T

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX1705/MAX1706 are high-efficiency, low-noise, step-up DC-DC converters with an auxiliary linear-regulator output. These devices are intended for use in battery-powered wireless applications. They use a synchronous rectifier pulse-width-modulation (PWM) boost topology to generate 2.5V to 5.5V outputs from battery inputs, such as 1 to 3 NiCd/NiMH cells or 1 Li-Ion cell. The MAX1705 has an internal 1A n-channel MOSFET switch. The MAX1706 has a 0.5A switch. Both devices also have a built-in low-dropout linear regulator thatdelivers up to 200mA.With an internal synchronous rectifier, the MAX1705/MAX1706 deliver 5% better efficiency than similar non-synchronous converters. They also feature a pulse-frequency-modulation (PFM) standby mode to improve efficiency at light loads, and a 1µA shutdown mode. An efficiency-enhancing track mode reduces the step-up DC-DC converter output to 300mV above the linear-regulatoroutput.Both devices come in a 16-pin QSOP package, which occupies the same space as an 8-pin SO. Other features include two shutdown-control inputs for push-on/push-off control, and an uncommitted comparator for use as a voltage monitor.ApplicationsDigital Cordless PhonesHandheld Instruments (PDAs, Palmtops)Palmtop ComputersPCS PhonesPersonal CommunicatorsTwo-Way PagingWireless Handsets

Analog Devices Inc.
The LT®1070/LT1071 are monolithic high power switching regulators. They can be operated in all standard switching configurations including buck, boost, flyback, forward, inverting and “Cuk”. A high current, high efficiency switch is included on the die along with all oscillator, control and protection circuitry. Integration of all functions allows the LT1070/LT1071 to be built in a standard 5-pin T0-220 power package. This makes it extremely easy to use and provides “bust proof” operation similar to that obtained with 3-pin linear regulators. The LT1070/LT1071 operate with supply voltages from 3Vto 60V, and draw only 6mA quiescent current. They can deliver load power up to 100W with no external power devices. By utilizing current mode switching techniques, they provide excellent AC and DC load and line regulation. The LT1070/LT1071 have many unique features not found even on the vastly more difficult to use low power control chips presently available. They use adaptive antisat switch drive to allow very wide ranging load currents with no loss in efficiency. An externally activated shutdown mode reduces total supply current to 50µA typical for standby operation. Totally isolated and regulated outputs can be generated by using the optional “flyback regulation mode” built into the LT1070/LT1071, without the need for optocouplers or extra transformer windings.Applications Logic Supply 5V at 10A 5V Logic to ± 15V Op Amp Supply Offline Converter up to 200W Battery Upconverter Power Inverter (+ to -) or (- to +) Fully Floating Multiple Outputs For Lower Current Applications, See the LT1072

LTC1235CN#PBF

Analog Devices Inc.
The LTC1235 provides complete power supply monitoring and battery control functions for microprocessor reset, battery backup, RAM write protection, power failure warning and watchdog timing. The LTC1235 has all the LTC695 features plus conditional battery backup and external reset control. When an out-of-tolerance power supply condition occurs, the reset outputs are forced to active states and the Chip Enable output write-protects external memory. The RESET output is guaranteed to remain logic low with VCC as low as 1V. External reset control is provided by a debounced push-button reset input. The LTC1235 powers the active CMOS RAMs with a charge pumped NMOS power switch to achieve low dropout and low supply current. When primary power is lost, auxiliary power, connected to the battery input pin, provides backup power to the RAMs. The LTC1235 can be programmed by a P signal to either back up the RAMs or not. This extends the battery life in situations where RAM data need not always be saved when power goes down. For an early warning of impending power failure, the LTC1235 provides an internal comparator with a user-defined threshold. An internal watchdog timer is also available, which forces the reset pins to active states when the watchdog input is not toggled prior to the time-out period.Applications Critical µP Power Monitoring Intelligent Instruments Battery-Powered Computers and Controllers Automotive Systems
