DS1631Z+

Analog Devices Inc.
The DS1631, DS1631A, and DS1731 digital thermometers provide 9, 10, 11, or 12-bit temperature readings over a -55°C to +125°C range. The DS1631 and DS1631A thermometer accuracy is ±0.5°C from 0°C to +70°C with 3.0V ≤ VDD ≤ 5.5V, and the DS1731 accuracy is ±1°C from -10°C to +85°C with 3.0V ≤ VDD ≤ 5.5V. The thermostat on all three devices provides custom hysteresis with user-defined trip points (TH and TL). The TH and TL registers and thermometer configuration settings are stored in NV EEPROM so they can be programmed prior to installation. In addition, the DS1631A automatically begins taking temperature measurements at power-up, which allows it to function as a stand-alone thermostat.ApplicationsMedicalNetworkingPersonal ComputingRouters/SwitchesTest Measurement SystemsWireless Base Stations

DS1720S+

Analog Devices Inc.
The DS1720 Digital Thermometer and Thermostat provides 9-bit temperature readings which indicate the temperature of the device. With three thermal alarm outputs, the DS1720 can also act as a thermostat. THIGH is driven high if the DS1720's temperature is greater than or equal to a user-defined temperature TH. TLOW is driven high if the DS1720's temperature is less than or equal to a user-defined temperature TL. TCOM is driven high when the temperature exceeds TH and stays high until the temperature falls below that of TL.User-defined temperature settings are stored in non-volatile memory, so parts can be programmed prior to insertion in a system, as well as used in stand-alone applications without a CPU. Temperature settings and temperature readings are all communicated to/from the DS1720 over a simple 3-wire interface.ApplicationsConsumer ProductsIndustrial SystemsThermally Sensitive SystemsThermometersThermostatic Controls

DS1722S+T&R

Analog Devices Inc.
The DS1722 Digital Thermometer and Thermostat with SPI/3-Wire Interface provides temperature readings which indicate the temperature of the device. No additional components are required; the device is truly a temperature-to-digital converter. Temperature readings are communicated from the DS1722 over a Motorola SPI interface or a standard 3-wire serial interface. The choice of interface standard is selectable by the user. For applications that require greater temperature resolution, the user can adjust the readout resolution from 8 to 12 bits. This is particularly useful in applications where thermal runaway conditions must be detected quickly. For application flexibility, the DS1722 features a wide analog supply rail of 2.65V - 5.5V. A separate digital supply allows a range of 1.8V to 5.5V.The DS1722 is available in an 8-pin SO (150mil) and 8-pin µMAX package.Applications for the DS1722 include personal computers/servers/workstations, cellular telephones, office equipment, or any thermally-sensitive system.ApplicationsCell Phone Base Stations Computer PeripheralsNetworkingTelecommunicationsTest Systems

DS18B20+PAR

Analog Devices Inc.
The DS18B20 digital thermometer provides 9-bit to 12-bit Celsius temperature measurements and has an alarm function with nonvolatile user-programmable upper and lower trigger points. The DS18B20 communicates over a 1-Wire bus that by definition requires only one data line (and ground) for communication with a central microprocessor. In addition, the DS18B20 can derive power directly from the data line ('parasite power'), eliminating the need for an external power supply. Each DS18B20 has a unique 64-bit serial code, which allows multiple DS18B20s to function on the same 1-Wire bus. Thus, it is simple to use one microprocessor to control many DS18B20s distributed over a large area. Applications that can benefit from this feature include HVAC environmental controls, temperature monitoring systems inside buildings, equipment, or machinery, and process monitoring and control systems. How to Spatially Index 1-Wire® Sensors Using the MAXREFDES131 and DS18B20 FAQs: DS18B20ApplicationsConsumer ProductsIndustrial SystemsThermally Sensitive SystemsThermometersThermostatic Controls

MAX6664AEE+

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX6653/MAX6663/MAX6664 are ACPI-compliant local and remote-junction temperature sensors and fan controllers. These devices measure their own die temperature, as well as the temperature of a remote-PN junction and control the speed of a DC cooling fan based on the measured temperature. Remote temperature measurement accuracy is ±1°C from +60°C to +100°C. Temperature measurement resolution is 0.125°C for both local and remote temperatures.Internal watchdog set points are provided for both local and remote temperatures. There are two comparison set points for local temperatures and two for remote temperatures. When a set point is crossed, the MAX6653/MAX6663/MAX6664 assert either the active-low INT or active-low THERM outputs. These outputs can be used as interrupts, clock throttle signals, or overtemperature shutdown signals. Two pins on the MAX6653 control the power-up values of the comparison set points, providing fail-safe protection even when the system is unable to program the trip temperatures. The MAX6653 has two additional shutdown outputs, active-low SDR and active-low SDL, that are triggered when the remote or local temperatures exceed the programmed shutdown set points. The active-low INT output for the MAX6653/MAX6663 and active-low THERM outputs for the MAX6653/MAX6663/MAX6664 can also function as inputs if either is pulled low to force the fan to full speed, unless this function is masked by the user. The MAX6653/MAX6663/MAX6664 are available in 16-pin QSOP packages and operate over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range.ApplicationsIndustrial ControlsNetworking EquipmentPersonal ComputingServersTelecom EquipmentTest EquipmentWorkstations

MAX6695AUB+T

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX6695/MAX6696 are precise, dual-remote, and local digital temperature sensors. They accurately measure the temperature of their own die and two remote diode-connected transistors, and report the temperature in digital form on a 2-wire serial interface. The remote diode is typically the emitter-base junction of a common-collector PNP on a CPU, FPGA, GPU, or ASIC.The 2-wire serial interface accepts standard system management bus (SMBus) commands such as Write Byte, Read Byte, Send Byte, and Receive Byte to read the temperature data and program the alarm thresholds and conversion rate. The MAX6695/MAX6696 can function autonomously with a programmable conversion rate, which allows control of supply current and temperature update rate to match system needs. For conversion rates of 2Hz or less, the temperature is represented as 10 bits + sign with a resolution of +0.125°C. When the conversion rate is 4Hz, output data is 7 bits + sign with a resolution of +1°C. The MAX6695/MAX6696 also include an SMBus timeout feature to enhance system reliability.Remote temperature sensing accuracy is ±1.5°C between +60°C and +100°C with no calibration needed. The MAX6695/MAX6696 measure temperatures from -40°C to +125°C. In addition to the SMBus active-low ALERT output, the MAX6695/MAX6696 feature two overtemperature limit indicators (active-low OT1 and active-low OT2), which are active only while the temperature is above the corresponding programmable temperature limits. The active-low OT1 and active-low OT2 outputs are typically used for fan control, clock throttling, or system shutdown. The MAX6695 has a fixed SMBus address. The MAX6696 has nine different pin-selectable SMBus addresses. The MAX6695 is available in a 10-pin µMAX® and the MAX6696 is available in a 16-pin QSOP package. Both operate throughout the -40°C to +125°C temperature range.ApplicationsDesktop ComputersNotebook ComputersServersTest and Measurement EquipmentWorkstations
