Demonstration circuit 1587A is a boost converter optimized for relatively high impedance, very low voltage input power sources. It allows a user to quickly evaluate the LTC3105 boost converter and LDO regulator. Capable of operating with an input voltage as low as 250mV and as high as 5V, the circuit features maximum power point control (MPPC). Jumpers on the circuit board allow the user to select several MPPC voltages, three boost output voltages and three LDO regulator output voltages. Also included are jumpers for shutdown and for selecting an external pull-up voltage for the power good status output. Terminals are provided for input and output connections, power good output and external power good supply input, shutdown input, and provisions for external MPPC resistor and MPPC diode input. This demonstration board is especially designed for low power solar cell applications.

Demonstration circuit 1614 features the LTC4012CUF, a multi-chemistry single battery charger controller with PowerPath™ control. The input supply voltage is 13.5V to 20V and is initially configured for a current limit of 10A. The charger float voltage is programmed by jumpers to support 1- to 4- series cells of both Li-Ion/Polymer and Li-iron phosphate (LiFePO4) at 4.2V/cell and 3.6V/cell, for a total of eight settings. The demo board is initially configured for constant-voltage charging of a 12.6V Li-Ion/ Polymer battery and constant-current charging at 8A, though current derating may be necessary due to certain operating conditions.

Demonstration circuit 1750A is a 42V, 2.5A micropower synchronous step-down regulator with current sense featuring the LT8611. The LT8611 is a compact, high efficiency, high speed synchronous monolithic step-down switching regulator that consumes only 2.5μA of quiescent current when the output is regulated at 3.3V. The demo board has an input voltage range from 3.8V to 42V and provides an output of 3.3V @ 2.5A. The current limit can be moved to the input side for application where input supply current is limited, such as energy harvesting application. ICTRL and IMON on the board set and monitor the regulated current respectively.

The LT3797 is a triple output DC/DC controller designed to drive three strings of LEDs. The fixed frequency, current mode architecture results in stable operation over a wide range of supply and output voltages. The LT3797 includes an integrated DC/DC converter to produce a regulated 7.5V supply for the N-channel MOSFET gate drivers of the three channels. This high efficiency converter enables the part to operate from a wide input voltage range from 2.5V to 40V. The LT3797 is designed so that each converter can use the most suitable configuration to drive its LED load, whether step-up, step-down or a combination. Two key features enable this flexibility: first the LT3797 can sense output current at the high side of the LED string; and second, the voltage feedback pin, FBH, is referred to the ISP current sensing input. The CTRL inputs provide output current analog dimming capability. The LT3798 is a constant-voltage/constant-current isolated flyback controller that combines active power factor correction (PFC) with no opto-coupler required for output voltage feedback into a single-stage converter. A LT3798 based design can achieve a power factor of greater than 0.97 by actively modulating the input current, allowing compliance with most Harmonic Current Emission requirements.The LT3798 is well suited for a wide variety of off-line applications. The input range can be scaled up or down, depending mainly on the choice of external components. Efficiencies higher than 86% can be achieved with output power levels up to 100W.
