AD8232-EVALZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8232 is an integrated signal conditioning block for ECG and other biopotential measurement applications. It is designed to extract, amplify, and filter small biopotential signals in the presence of noisy conditions, such as those created by motion or remote electrode placement. This design allows for an ultralow power analog-to-digital converter (ADC) or an embedded microcontroller to acquire the output signal easily. The AD8232 can implement a two-pole high-pass filter for eliminating motion artifacts and the electrode half-cell potential. This filter is tightly coupled with the instrumentation architec-ture of the amplifier to allow both large gain and high-pass filtering in a single stage, thereby saving space and cost.An uncommitted operational amplifier enables the AD8232 to create a three-pole low-pass filter to remove additional noise. The user can select the frequency cutoff of all filters to suit different types of applications. To improve common-mode rejection of the line frequencies in the system and other undesired interferences, the AD8232 includes an amplifier for driven lead applications, such as right leg drive (RLD).The AD8232 includes a fast restore function that reduces the duration of otherwise long settling tails of the high-pass filters. After an abrupt signal change that rails the amplifier (such as a leads off condition), the AD8232 automatically adjusts to a higher filter cutoff. This feature allows the AD8232 to recover quickly, and therefore, to take valid measurements soon after connecting the electrodes to the subject. The AD8232 is available in a 4 mm ? 4 mm, 20-lead LFCSP and a LFCSP_SS package. Performance for the A grade models is specified from 0?C to 70?C and the models are operational from ?40?C to +85?C. Performance for the W grade models is specified over the automotive temperature range of ?40?C to +105?C.Applications Fitness and activity heart rate monitors Portable ECG Remote health monitors Gaming peripherals Biopotential signal acquisition

AD8362-EVALZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8362 is a true rms-responding power detector that has a 65 dB measurement range. It is intended for use in a variety of high frequency communication systems and in instrumentation requiring an accurate response to signal power. It is easy to use, requiring only a single supply of 5 V and a few capacitors. It operates from arbitrarily low frequencies to over 3.8 GHz and accepts inputs from ?52 dBm to +8 dBm with crest factors that are typical of quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation schemes. The input signal is applied to a resistive ladder attenuator that comprises the input stage of a variable gain amplifier (VGA). The 12 tap points are smoothly interpolated using a proprietary technique to provide a continuously variable attenuator, which is controlled by a voltage applied to the VSET pin. The resulting signal is applied to a high performance broadband amplifier. Its output is measured by an accurate square-law detector cell. The fluctuating output is then filtered and compared with the output of an identical squarer, whose input is a fixed dc voltage applied to the VTGT pin, usually the accurate reference of 1.25 V pro-vided at the VREF pin.The difference in the outputs of these squaring cells is integrated in a high gain error amplifier, generating a voltage at the VOUT pin with rail-to-rail capabilities. In a controller mode, this low noise output can be used to vary the gain of a host system?s RF amplifier, thus balancing the setpoint against the input power. Optionally, the voltage at VSET can be a replica of the RF signal?s amplitude modulation, in which case the overall effect is to remove the modulation component prior to detection and low-pass filtering. The corner frequency of the averaging filter can be lowered without limit by adding an external capacitor at the CLPF pin. The AD8362 can be used to determine the true power of a high frequency signal having a complex low frequency modulation envelope, or simply as a low frequency rms volt-meter. The high-pass corner generated by its offset-nulling loop can be lowered by a capacitor added on the CHPF pin.Used as a power measurement device, VOUT is strapped to VSET. The output is then proportional to the logarithm of the rms value of the input. In other words, the reading is presented directly in decibels and is conveniently scaled 1 V per decade, or 50 mV/dB; other slopes are easily arranged. In controller modes, the voltage applied to VSET determines the power level required at the input to null the deviation from the setpoint. The output buffer can provide high load currents. The AD8362 has 1.3 mW power consumption when powered down by a logic high applied to the PWDN pin. It powers up within about 20 ?s to its nominal operating current of 20 mA at 25?C. The AD8362 is supplied in a 16-lead TSSOP for operation over the temperature range of ?40?C to +85?C.ApplicationsPower amplifier linearization/control loops Transmitter power controls Transmitter signal strength indication (TSSI) RF instrumentation

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD91641 is a high performance, 16-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and direct digital synthesizer (DDS) that supports update rates to 6 GSPS. The DAC core is based on a quad-switch architecture coupled with a 2? interpolator filter that enables an effective DAC update rate of up to 12 GSPS in some modes. The high dynamic range and bandwidth makes these DACs ideally suited for the most demanding high speed radio frequency (RF) DAC applications. The DDS consists of a bank of 32, 32-bit numerically controlled oscillators (NCOs), each with its own phase accumulator. When combined with a 100 MHz serial peripheral interface (SPI) and fast hop modes, phase coherent fast frequency hopping (FFH) is enabled, with several modes to support multiple applications. In baseband mode, wide analog bandwidth capability combines with high dynamic range to support DOCSIS 3.1 cable infrastructure compliance from the minimum of one carrier up to the full maximum spectrum of 1.791 GHz of signal bandwidth. A 2? interpolator filter (FIR85) enables the AD9164 to be configured for lower data rates and converter clocking to reduce the overall system power and ease the filtering requirements. In Mix-Mode? operation, the AD9164 can reconstruct RF carriers in the second and third Nyquist zones up to 7.5 GHz while still maintaining exceptional dynamic range. The output current can be programmed from 8 mA to 38.76 mA. The AD9164 data interface consists of up to eight JESD204B serializer/deserializer (SERDES) lanes that are programmable in terms of lane speed and number of lanes to enable application flexibility. An SPI interface configures the AD9164 and monitors the status of all registers. The AD9164 is offered in a 165-ball, 8 mm ? 8 mm, 0.5 mm pitch CSP_BGA package, and a 169-ball, 11 mm ? 11 mm, 0.8 mm pitch, CSP_BGA package, including a leaded ball option.Product Highlights High dynamic range and signal reconstruction bandwidth supports RF signal synthesis of up to 7.5 GHz. Up to eight lanes JESD204B SERDES interface flexible in terms of number of lanes and lane speed.
