Demonstration Circuit 2048A is a nanopower buckboost DC/DC with energy harvesting battery life extender featuring the LTC3330. The LTC3330 integrates a high voltage energy harvesting power supply plus a DC/DC converter powered by a primary cell battery to create a single output supply for alternative energy applications. The energy harvesting power supply, consisting of an integrated low-loss full-wave bridge with a high voltage buck converter, harvests energy from piezoelectric, solar or magnetic sources. The primary cell input powers a buck-boost converter capable of operating down to 1.8V at its input. Either DC/DC converter can deliver energy to a single output.

The LT8710 is ideal for many types of power supply topologies and can be easily configured for boost, SEPIC, inverting, or flyback configurations.The LT8710?s rail-to-rail output current monitor and control allows the part to be configured in current limited applications such as battery charging. The FLAG pin can be used as a power good indication or C/10 indication allowing for accurate bulk and float battery voltages.The LT8710?s switching frequency range can be set between 100kHz and 750kHz using an external resistor or synchronized to an external clock.The LT8710 also features innovative EN/FBIN pin circuitry that allows for slowly varying input signals and an adjustable undervoltage lockout function. The pin is also used for input voltage regulation to avoid collapsing a high impedance input supply. Additional features such as frequency foldback and soft-start are integrated. The LTC6900 is a precision, low power oscillator that is easy to use and occupies very little PC board space. The oscillator frequency is programmed by a single external resistor (RSET). The LTC6900 has been designed for high accuracy operation (?1.5% frequency error) without the need for external trim components. The LTC6900 operates with a single 2.7V to 5.5V power supply and provides a rail-to-rail, 50% duty cycle square wave output. The CMOS output driver ensures fast rise/fall times and rail-to-rail switching. The frequency-setting resistor can vary from 10k? to 2M? to select a master oscillator frequency between 100kHz and 20MHz (5V supply). The three-state DIV input determines whether the master clock is divided by 1, 10 or 100 before driving the output, providing three frequency ranges spanning 1kHz to 20MHz (5V supply). The LTC6900 features a proprietary feedback loop that linearizes the relationship between RSET and frequency, eliminating the need for tables to calculate frequency. The LTC3722-1/LTC3722-2 phase-shift PWM controllers provide all of the control and protection functions necessary to implement a high efficiency, zero voltage switched (ZVS), full bridge power converter. Adaptive ZVS circuitry delays the turn-on signals for each MOSFET independent of internal and external component tolerances. Manual delay set mode enables secondary side control operation or direct control of switch turn-on delays. The LTC3722-1/LTC3722-2 feature adjustable synchronous rectifier timing for optimal efficiency. A UVLO program input provides accurate system turn-on and turn-off voltages. The LTC3722-1 features peak current mode control with programmable slope compensation and leading edge blanking, while the LTC3722-2 employs voltage mode control. The LTC3722-1/LTC3722-2 feature extremely low operating and start-up currents.
