SSM2166SZ-REEL7
Analog Devices Inc.
The SSM2166 integrates a complete and flexible solution for conditioning microphone inputs in computer audio systems. It is also excellent for improving vocal clarity in communications and public address systems. A low noise, voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA) provides a gain that is dynamically adjusted by a control loop to maintain a set compression characteristic. The compression ratio is set by a single resistor and can be varied from 1:1 to over 15:1 relative to a user-defined rotation point; signals above the rotation point are limited to prevent overload and to eliminate popping. In the 1:1 compression setting, the SSM2166 can be programmed with a fixed gain of up to 20 dB; this gain is in addition to the variable gain in other compression settings. The input buffer can also be configured for front-end gains of 0 dB to 20 dB. A downward expander (noise gate) prevents amplification of noise or hum. This results in optimized signal levels prior to digitization, thereby eliminating the need for additional gain or attenuation in the digital domain that could add noise or impair accuracy of speech recognition algorithms. The compression ratio and time constants are set externally. A high degree of flexibility is provided by the VCA gain, rotation point, and noise gate adjustment pins. The SSM2166 is an ideal companion product for audio codecs used in computer systems. The SSM2166 is available in a 14-lead SOIC package and is guaranteed for operation over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C.Applications Microphone preamplifiers/processors Computer sound cards Public address/paging systems Communication headsets Telephone conferencing Guitar sustain effects generators Computerized voice recognition Surveillance systems Karaoke and DJ mixers

TMP01FSZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The TMP01 is a temperature sensor that generates a voltage output proportional to absolute temperature and a control signal from one of two outputs when the device is either above or below a specific temperature range. Both the high/low temperature trip points and hysteresis (overshoot) band are determined by user-selected external resistors. For high volume production, these resistors are available on board. The TMP01 consists of a band gap voltage reference combined with a pair of matched comparators. The reference provides both a constant 2.5 V output and a voltage proportional to absolute temperature (VPTAT) which has a precise temperature coefficient of 5 mV/K and is 1.49 V (nominal) at 25°C. The comparators compare VPTAT with the externally set tempera-ture trip points and generate an open-collector output signal when one of their respective thresholds has been exceeded.Hysteresis is also programmed by the external resistor chain and is determined by the total current drawn out of the 2.5 V reference. This current is mirrored and used to generate a hysteresis offset voltage of the appropriate polarity after a comparator has been tripped. The comparators are connected in parallel, which guarantees that there is no hysteresis overlap and eliminates erratic transitions between adjacent trip zones. The TMP01 utilizes proprietary thin-film resistors in conjunc-tion with production laser trimming to maintain a temperature accuracy of ±1°C (typical) over the rated temperature range, with excellent linearity. The open-collector outputs are capable of sinking 20 mA, enabling the TMP01 to drive control relays directly. Operating from a 5 V supply, quiescent current is only 500 μA (max). The TMP01 is available in 8-pin mini PDIP, SOIC, and TO-99 packages.APPLICATIONSOver/under temperature sensor and alarmBoard-level temperature sensingTemperature controllersElectronic thermostatsThermal protectionHVAC systemsIndustrial process controlRemote sensors

AD202JN
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD202 is a general purpose, two-port, transformer-coupled isolation amplifier that may be used in a broad range of applications where input signals must be measured, processed and/or transmitted without a galvanic connection. This industry standard isolation amplifier offers a complete isolation function, with both signal and power isolation provided for in a single compact plastic SIP or DIP style package. The AD202 is powered directly from a +15 V dc supply. The AD202 provides total galvanic isolation between the input and output stages of the isolation amplifier through the use of internal transformer-coupling. The functionally complete AD202 eliminates the need for an external, user-supplied dc/dc converter. This permits the designer to minimize the necessary circuit overhead and consequently reduce the overall design and component costs. The design of the AD202 emphasizes maximum flexibility and ease of use, including the availability of an uncommitted op amp on the input stage. They feature a bipolar ±5 V output range, an adjustable gain range of from 1 to 100 V/V, ±0.025% max nonlinearity (K grade), 130 dB of CMR.Applications Multichannel Data Acquisition Current Shunt Measurements Motor Controls Process Signal Isolation High Voltage Instrumentation Amplifier

AD5207BRUZ50-RL7
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD5207 provides a dual channel, 256 position, digitally controlled variable resistor (VR) device. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer or variable resistor. Each channel of the AD5207 contains a fixed resistor with a wiper contact that taps the fixed resistor value at a point determined by a digital code loaded into the SPI compatible serial-input register. The resistance between the wiper and either end point of the fixed resistor varies linearly with respect to the digital code transferred into the VR latch. The variable resistor offers a completely programmable value of resistance, between the A terminal and the wiper or the B terminal and the wiper. The fixed A to B terminal resistance of 10K, 50K or 100K ohms has a ±1% channel-to-channel matching tolerance with a nominal temperature coefficient of 500 ppm/°C. A unique switching circuit minimizes the high glitch inherent in traditional switched resistor designs and avoids any make-before-break or break-before-make operation. The AD5207 is available in 1.1 mm thin TSSOP-14 package, which is suitable for PCMCIA applications.APPLICATIONS Mechanical Potentiometer Replacement Stereo Channel Audio Level Control Instrumentation: Gain, Offset Adjustment Programmable Voltage-to-Current Conversion Programmable Filters, Delays, Time Constants Line Impedance Matching Automotive Electronics Adjustment

AD5259BRMZ10
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD5259 provides a compact, nonvolatile LFCSP-10 (3 mm x 3 mm) or MSOP-10 (3 mm x 4.9 mm) packaged solution for 256-position adjustment applications. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as mechanical potentiometers or variable resistors, but with enhanced resolution and solid-state reliability. The terms digital potentiometer, VR (variable resistor), and RDAC are used interchangeably. The wiper settings are controllable through an I2C-compatible digital interface that is also used to read back the wiper register and EEPROM content. Resistor tolerance is also stored within EEPROM, providing an end-to-end tolerance accuracy of 0.1%.A separate VLOGIC pin delivers increased interface flexibility. For users who need multiple parts on one bus, Address Bit AD0 and Address Bit AD1 allow up to four devices on the same busAPPLICATIONS LCD panel VCOM adjustment LCD panel brightness and contrast control Mechanical potentiometer replacement in new designs Programmable power supplies RF amplifier biasing Automotive electronics adjustment Gain control and offset adjustment Fiber to the home systems Electronics level settings
