Demonstration circuit DC330 comprises two low noise micropower voltage regulators using the LT1761 in the 5-lead SOT-23 package. These circuits are primarily used in cellular phones, voltage controlled oscillators, RF power supplies and as local regulators in larger systems. Their ability to tolerate a wide variety of output capacitors makes them ideal in space- and cost-sensitive systems.

The LTC1563-2/LTC1563-3 are a family of extremely easy-to-use, active RC lowpass filters with rail-to-rail inputs and outputs and low DC offset suitable for systems with a resolution of up to 16 bits. The LTC1563-2, with a single resistor value, gives a unity-gain Butterworth response. The LTC1563-3, with a single resistor value, gives a unity-gain Bessel response. The proprietary architecture of these parts allows for a simple resistor calculation:R = 10k (256kHz/fC); fC = Cutoff Frequencywhere fC is the desired cutoff frequency. For many applications,this formula is all that is needed to design a filter.By simply utilizing different valued resistors, gain andother responses are achieved.The LTC1563-X features a low power mode, for the lowerfrequency applications, where the supply current is reducedby an order of magnitude and a near zero powershutdown mode.The LTC1563-Xs are available in the narrow SSOP-16package (Same footprint as an SO-8 package).Applications Discrete RC Active Filters and Modules Antialiasing Filters Smoothing or Reconstruction Filters Linear Phase Filtering for Data Communication Phase Locked Loops

Demonstration circuit 486B is a dual Smart Battery PowerPath and charger controller featuring the LTC1760. The input voltage is 12 to 20V. The charger output voltage is programmed SMBus serial interface. The maximum charge current is 4A. The demo board has been optimized to work with 2, 3 and 4- Cell Li-ion battery packs. A jumper is provided to select trip for low battery voltage (LOBAT), VLIMIT (VLIM), and ILIMIT (ILIM). The LTC1760 follows the Smart Battery Standards for the Smart Battery System Manager (SBSM) specification.

Demonstration circuit 501 is high power, high voltage, and high efficiency DC/DC buck converter featuring the LTC3703. This is a general-purpose high voltage DC to DC with an input voltage range of 20V to 72V. The board is optimized for positive 48V input operation with high voltage surges up to 72VDC allowed. The limiting factor is the LTC3703 GN16 package that will not meet UL/CSA/IEC60950 clearance and creepage distance requirements above the SELV 60VDC maximum due to pin spacing. If the user wishes to support higher continuous input voltages or compliance to 60950, the LTC3703 is offered in a G-28 pin package. See Data Sheet. However, for the purposes of evaluation, the board will work reliably up to 72V. The maximum continuous current in free air is 4A. 6A is permissible with some forced air cooling. The output voltage is programmed with a voltage divider and configured for 12V.

Demonstration circuit DC512B is a single battery switching step-down charge controller featuring the LTC4100. The recommended input power is 15 to 20V at 3.5A. A two-position jumper allows choice of protected output voltage range suitable for 3- and 4-Cell Li-ion batteries. Removal of the jumper allows full output voltage range. The maximum charge current is 4A. The demo board is initially configured for 12.6V at 3A for popular 3-cell Li-ion battery packs. LTC4100 will automatically charge a Smart Battery to termination as soon as input power is applied with a battery connected prior to power up. A VOUT pin automatically provides power to the system load from the wall adapter or battery. Status LEDs are provided for CHG, ACP, SMBALERT and SMBus activity.

The LT5517 is a 40MHz to 900MHz quadrature demodulator optimized for high linearity receiver applications where high dynamic range is important. It is suitable for communications receivers where an RF or IF signal is directly converted into I and Q baseband signals with a bandwidth up to 130MHz. The LT5517 incorporates balanced I and Q mixers, LO buffer amplifiers and a precision, broadband quadrature generator derived from an on-chip divide-by-two circuit.The superior linearity and low noise performance of the LT5517 is achieved across its full frequency range. A well-balanced divide-by-two circuit generates precision quadrature LO carriers to drive the I mixer and the Q mixer. Consequently, the outputs of the I-channel and the Q-channel are well matched in amplitude, and their phases are 90? apart. Demonstration circuit 862 is a micropower regulated charge pump DC/DC converter featuring the 60mA output LTC3221 in a 2mm × 2mm DFN package. It comes in three assembly versions, DC862A-A, DC862A-B and DC862A-C, featuring the LTC3221EDC-3.3 (fixed 3.3V output), the LTC3221EDC-5 (fixed 5V output) , and LTC3221EDC (adjustable output set to 3V), respectively. The demo board input voltage range depends on the IC used; for the adjustable output DC862A-C, the input voltage range is 1.8V to 3.8V. The LTC3221's low 8µA no-load quiescent current is even lower than the self-discharging current of many batteries. By employing a constant current to charge the output, the output ripple is low even at high input and light load, and is fairly constant over the full input voltage range.
