The ADM6315 is a reliable voltage monitoring device that is suitable for use in most voltage monitoring applications.The ADM6315 is designed to monitor as little as a 1.8% degradation of a power supply voltage. The ADM6315 can monitor all voltages (at 100 mV increments) from 2.5 V to 5 V.Included in this circuit is a debounced manual reset input. RESET can be activated using an ordinary switch (pulling MR low), a low input from another digital device, or a degradation of the supply voltage.The manual reset function is very useful, especially if the circuit in which the ADM6315 is operating enters into a state that can be detected only by the user. They provide a reset signal on power-up, power-down, and whenever the supply voltage falls below a preset threshold. In addition, both parts have a debounced manual reset input so that a reset signal can also be initiated with an external switch or logic signal.With six different reset threshold options available ranging from 2.32 V to 4.63 V, the ADM6711 / ADM6713 are suitable for monitoring 2.5 V, 3 V, 3.3 V, and 5 V supplies. A reset timeout of at least 140 ms occurs when VCC rises above the threshold. This gives the supply voltage time to stabilize before the microprocessor starts up.The ADM6711 has a push-pull output, so no additional external components are needed. The ADM6713 open-drain output requires an external pull-up resistor that can be connected to a voltage higher than VCC, if desired.The parts are highly reliable with accurate voltage references and immunity to fast, negative-going transients on VCC. The ADP1710/ADP1711 are optimized for stable operation with small 1 μF ceramic output capacitors, allowing for good transient performance while occupying minimal board space. An enable pin controls the output voltage on both devices. There is also an under-voltage lockout circuit on both devices, which disables the regulator if IN drops below a minimum threshold. An internal soft start gives a typical start-up time of 80 μs. Short-circuit protection and thermal overload protection circuits prevent damage to the devices in adverse conditions.
