Analog Devices Inc.
The ADF7020 is a low power, low-IF transceiver designed for operation in the license-free ISM bands at 433MHz, 868MHz and 915MHz. It is suitable for circuit applications that meet either the European ETSI EN-300-220 or the North American FCC, Part 15.247 and 15.249 regulatory standards. It operates from a 2.3 V to 3.6V power supply with programmable output power from -16 to +13dBm in 0.3dBm steps. Its receiver sensitivity is -117.5dBm at 1kbits/s in FSK mode or -110.5dBm at 9.6kbits/s. Power consumption is 20mA in receive mode and 30mA in transmit mode (+10dBm output).Other features include on-chip VCO (voltage controlled oscillator), Fractional-N PLL, on-chip 7-bit ADC (analog-to-digital converter), digital received signal strength indication (RSSI), temperature sensor and a patent pending fully automatic AFC loop. This allows the ADF7020 to be used with lower tolerance crystals. Its leakage current is < 1uA in power down mode. This device is suitable for circuit applications that meet the European ETSI-300-220, the North American FCC (Part 15), or the Chinese Short Range Device regulatory standards. A complete transceiver can be built using a small number of external discrete components, making the ADF7020 very suitable for price-sensitive and area-sensitive applications. The transmitter block on the ADF7020 contains a VCO and low noise fractional-N PLL with an output resolution of <1 ppm. This frequency agile PLL allows the ADF7020 to be used in frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) systems. The VCO operates at twice the fundamental frequency to reduce spurious emissions and frequency-pulling problems. The transmitter output power is programmable in 0.3 dB steps from −16 dBm to +13 dBm. The transceiver RF frequency and modulation are programmable using a simple 3-wire interface. The device operates with a power supply range of 2.3 V to 3.6 V and can be powered down when not in use.A low IF architecture is used in the receiver (200 kHz), minimizing power consumption and the external component count and avoiding interference problems at low frequencies. The ADF7020 supports a wide variety of programmable features, including Rx linearity, sensitivity, and IF bandwidth, allowing the user to trade off receiver sensitivity and selectivity against current consumption, depending on the application. The receiver also features a patent-pending automatic frequency control (AFC) loop, allowing the PLL to track out the frequency error in the incoming signal. An on-chip ADC provides readback of an integrated temperature sensor, an external analog input, the battery voltage, or the RSSI signal, which provides savings on an ADC in some applications. The temperature sensor is accurate to ±10°C over the full operating temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. This accuracy can be improved by doing a 1-point calibration at room temperature and storing the result in memory.APPLICATIONS Low cost wireless data transfer Remote control/security systems Wireless metering Keyless entry Home automation Process and building control Wireless voice

The OP467 is a quad, high speed, precision operational amplifier. It offers the performance of a high speed op amp combined with the advantages of a precision op amp in a single package. The OP467 is an ideal choice for applications where, traditionally, more than one op amp was used to achieve this level of speed and precision. The internal compensation of the OP467 ensures stable unity-gain operation, and it can drive large capacitive loads without oscillation. With a gain bandwidth product of 28 MHz typ driving a 30 pF load, output slew rate is 170 V/μs, and settling time to 0.01% in less than 200 ns, the OP467 provides excellent dynamic accuracy in high speed data acquisition systems. The channel-to-channel separation is typically 60 dB at 10 MHz. The low offset and drift plus high speed and low noise make the OP467 usable in applications such as high speed detectors and instrumentation.

The OP27 precision operational amplifier combines the low offset and drift of the OP07 with both high speed and low noise. Offsets down to 25µV and drift of 0.6µV/°C maximum make the OP27 ideal for precision instrumentation applications. Exceptionally low noise, a low 1/f noise corner frequency, and high gain (1.8 million), allow accurate high-gain amplification of low-level signals. A gain-bandwidth product of 8MHz and a 2.8V/µsec slew rate provides excellent dynamic accuracy in high-speed data-acquisition systems. A low input bias current of ±10nA typical is achieved by use of a bias-current-cancellation circuit. The output stage has good load driving capability. A guaranteed swing of ±10V into 600 Ohms and low output distortion make the OP27 an excellent choice for audio applications. PSRR and CMRR exceed 120dB. These characteristics, coupled with long-term drift of 0.2µV/month, allow the circuit designer to achieve performance levels previously attained only by discrete designs.

The AD600/AD602 dual channel, low noise, variable gain amplifiers are optimized for use in ultrasound imaging systems, but are applicable to any application requiring precise gain, low noise and distortion, and wide bandwidth. Each independent channel provides a gain of 0 dB to +40 dB in the AD600 and -10 dB to +30 dB in the AD602. The lower gain of the AD602 results in an improved signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the output. However, both products have the same 1.4 nV/√Hz input noise spectral density. The decibel gain is directly proportional to the control voltage, accurately calibrated, and supply and temperature-stable.To achieve the difficult performance objectives, a proprietary circuit form, the X-AMP®, was developed. Each channel of the X-AMP comprises a variable attenuator of 0 dB to -42.14 dB followed by a high speed fixed gain amplifier. In this way, the amplifier never has to cope with large inputs, and can benefit from the use of negative feedback to precisely define the gain and dynamics. The attenuator is realized as a 7-stage R-2R ladder network having an input resistance of 100 W, laser trimmed to ±2%. The attenuation between tap points is 6.02 dB; the gain-control circuit provides continuous interpolation between these taps. The resulting control function is linear in dB.The gain-control interfaces are fully differential, providing an input resistance of ~15 M W and a scale factor of 32 dB/V (that is, 31.25 mV/dB) defined by an internal voltage reference. The response time of this interface is less than 1 µs. Each channel also has an independent gating facility that optionally blocks signal transmission and sets the dc output level to within a few millivolts of the output ground. The gating control input is TTL- and CMOS-compatible.The maximum gain of the AD600 is 41.07 dB, and the maximum gain of the AD602 is 31.07 dB; the -3 dB bandwidth of both models is nominally 35 MHz, essentially independent of the gain. The SNR for a 1 V rms output and a 1 MHz noise bandwidth is typically 76 dB for the AD600 and 86 dB for the AD602. The amplitude response is flat within ±0.5 dB from 100 kHz to 10 MHz; over this frequency range, the group delay varies by less than ±2 ns at all gain settings. Each amplifier channel can drive 100 W load impedances with low distortion. For example, the peak specified output is ±2.5 V minimum into a 500 W load, or ±1 V into a 100 W load. For a 200 W load in shunt with 5 pF, the total harmonic distortion for a ±1 V sinusoidal output at 10 MHz is typically -60 dBc.The AD600J/AD602J are specified for operation from 0°C to 70°C and are available in 16-lead PDIP (N) and 16-lead SOIC packages. The AD600A/AD602A are specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C and are available in 16-lead CERDIP (Q) and 16-lead SOIC packages. The AD600S/AD602S are specified for operation from -55°C to +125°C, are available in a 16-lead CERDIP (Q) package, and are MIL-STD-883 compliant. AD606JRZ-REEL7
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD606 is a complete, monolithic logarithmic amplifier using a 9-stage 'successive-detection' technique. It provides both logarithmic and limited outputs. The logarithmic output is from a three-pole post-demodulation low-pass filter and provides a loadable output voltage of +0.1 V dc to +4 V dc. The logarithmic scaling is such that the output is +0.5 V for a sinusoidal input of -75 dBm and +3.5 V at an input of +5 dBm; over this range the logarithmic linearity is typically within ±0.4 dB. All scaling parameters are proportional to the supply voltage. The AD606 can operate above and below these limits, with reduced linearity, to provide as much as 90 dB of conversion range. A second low-pass filter automatically nulls the input offset of the first stage down to the submicrovolt level. Adding external capacitors to both filters allows operation at input frequencies as low as a few hertz. The AD606's limiter output provides a hard-limited signal output as a differential current of ±1.2 mA from open-collector outputs. In a typical application, both of these outputs are loaded by 200 Ω resistors to provide a voltage gain of more than 90 dB from the input. Transition times are 1.5 ns, and the phase is stable to within ±3° at 10.7 MHz for signals from -75 dBm to +5 dBm.The logarithmic amplifier operates from a single +5 V supply and typically consumes 65 mW. It is enabled by a CMOS logic level voltage input, with a response time of <5 µs. When disabled, the standby power is reduced to <1 mW within 5 µs.The AD606J is specified for the commercial temperaturerange of 0°C to +70°C and is available in 16-pin plastic DIPs or SOICs. Consult the factory for other packages and temperature ranges. An evaluation board is available for this product and may be ordered using the following product number: AD606-EB.APPLICATIONS Ultrasound and Sonar Processing Phase-Stable Limiting Amplifier to 100 MHz Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) Wide Range Signal and Power Measurement

AD627ARZ-RL
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD627 is an integrated, micropower instrumentation amplifier that delivers rail-to-rail output swing on single and dual (+2.2 V to ±18 V) supplies. The AD627 provides excellent ac and dc specifications while operating at only 85 μA maximum. The AD627 offers superior flexibility by allowing the user to set the gain of the device with a single external resistor while con-forming to the 8-lead industry-standard pinout configuration. With no external resistor, the AD627 is configured for a gain of 5. With an external resistor, it can be set to a gain of up to 1000.A wide supply voltage range (+2.2 V to ±18 V) and micropower current consumption make the AD627 a perfect fit for a wide range of applications. Single-supply operation, low power consumption, and rail-to-rail output swing make the AD627 ideal for battery-powered applications. Its rail-to-rail output stage maximizes dynamic range when operating from low supply voltages. Dual-supply operation (±15 V) and low power consumption make the AD627 ideal for industrial applications, including 4 to 20 mA loop-powered systems. The AD627 does not compromise performance, unlike other micropower instrumentation amplifiers. Low voltage offset, offset drift, gain error, and gain drift minimize errors in the system. The AD627 also minimizes errors over frequency by providing excellent CMRR over frequency. Because the CMRR remains high up to 200 Hz, line noise and line harmonics are rejected. The AD627 provides superior performance, uses less circuit board area, and costs less than micropower discrete designs.Applications4 mA to 20 mA loop-powered applicationsLow power medical instrumentation—ECG, EEGTransducer interfacingThermocouple amplifiersIndustrial process controlsLow power data acquisitionPortable battery-powered instruments
