The ADM3483E / ADM3486E / ADM3488E / ADM3490E / ADM3491E are 3.3 V low power data transceivers with ±15 kV ESD protection suitable for full andhalf-duplex communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. They are designed for balanced data transmission and comply with TIA/EIA standards RS-485 and RS-422. The ADM3483E / ADM3486E is a half-duplex transceiver that shares differential lines and has separate enable inputs for the driver and receiver. The full-duplex ADM3488E / ADM3490E / ADM3491E transceivers have dedicated differential line driver outputs and receiver inputs. The ADM3491E also features enable inputs for the driver and receiver.The devices have a 12 kΩ receiver input impedance which allows up to 32 transceivers on a bus. Since only one driver should be enabled at any time, the output of a disabled or powered down driver is three-stated to avoid overloading the bus. The driver outputs of the ADM3483E / ADM3486E / ADM3488E are slew rate limited in order to reduce EMI and data errors caused by reflections from improperly terminated buses. The receiver has a failsafe feature which ensures a logic high output when the inputs are floating. Excessive power dissipation caused by bus contention or by output shorting is prevented with a thermal shutdown circuit. The parts are fully specified over the industrialtemperature ranges and are available in narrow 8-lead and 14-lead (ADM3491E) SOIC packages.

The ADM560 / ADM561 are four driver/five receiver interface devices designed to meet the EIA-232 standard while operating with a single +3.3 V power supply. The devices feature an on-board dc-to-dc converter, eliminating the need for dual ±5 V power supplies. This dc-dc converter contains a voltage doubler and voltage inverter which internally generates ±6.6 V from the input +3.3 V power supply.The ADM560 and ADM561 consume only 5 mW making them ideally suited for battery and other power-sensitive applications. A shutdown facility is also provided which reduces the power to 0.66 µW.The ADM560 contains active low shutdown and active high receiver enable signals. In shutdown mode, two receivers remain active thereby allowing monitoring of peripheral devices. This feature allows the device to be shut down until a peripheral device begins communication. The active receivers can alert the processor which can then take the ADM560 out of the shutdown mode.The ADM561 features active high shutdown and an active low receiver enable. In this device all receivers are disabled in shutdown.The ADM560 / ADM561 is fabricated using CMOS technology for minimal power consumption. It features a high level of over-voltage protection and latch-up immunity. The receiver inputs can withstand up to ±25 V levels. The transmitter inputs can be driven from either 3V or 5V logic levels. The ADM709 contains a power supply monitor which generates a system reset during power-up, power-down and brownout conditions. When VCC falls below the reset threshold, RESET goes low and holds the µP in reset. On power-up the RESET output is held low for 140 ms after VCC rises above the threshold. The RESET output remains operational with VCC as low as 1 V.Three supply-voltage threshold levels are available suitable for +5 V, +3.3 V and for +3 V supply monitoring. The ADM803 supervisory circuit monitors the power supply voltage in microprocessor systems. It provides a reset output during power-up, power-down and brownout conditions. On power-up, an internal timer holds reset asserted for 240ms. This holds the microprocessor in a reset state until conditions have stabilized. The reset output remains operational with VCC as low as 1V. The ADM803 provides an active-low reset signal RESET, and has an open-drain output stage which requires an external pull-up resistor.Seven reset threshold options are available.
