The LTC4009 is a constant-current/constant-voltage battery charger controller. It uses a synchronous quasiconstant frequency PWM control architecture that will not generate audible noise with ceramic bulk capacitors. Charge current is set by the combination of external sense, input and programming resistors. With no built-in termination, the LTC4009 family charges a wide range of batteries under external control. The LTC4009 features a fully adjustable output voltage, while the LTC4009-1 and LTC4009-2 can be pin-programmed for lithium-ion/polymer battery packs of 1-, 2-, 3- or 4-series cells. The LTC4009-1 provides output voltage of 4.1V/cell, and the LTC4009-2 is a 4.2V/cell version. The device includes AC adapter input current limiting which maximizes the charge rate for a fixed input power level. An external sense resistor programs the input current limit, and the ICL status pin indicates when the battery charge current is being reduced as a result of AC adapter current limiting. The LT3954 is a DC/DC converter designed to operate as a constant-current source and constant-voltage regulator. It features an internal low side N-channel MOSFET rated for 40V/5A. The LT3954 is ideally suited for driving high current LEDs, but also has features to make it suitable for charging batteries and supercapacitors. The fixed frequency, current mode architecture results in stable operation over a wide range of supply and output voltages. A voltage feedback pin serves as the input for several LED protection features, and also makes it possible for the converter to operate as a constant-voltage source. A frequency adjust pin allows the user to program the frequency from 100kHz to 1MHz to optimize efficiency, performance or external component size.The LT3954 senses output current at the high side or at the low side of the load. The internal PWM generator can be configured to self-oscillate at fixed frequency with duty ratio programmable from 4% to 96%. When driven by an external signal, the PWM input provides LED dimming ratios of up to 3000:1. Demonstration circuit 2081A-B features the LTM4630EY-1, the high efficiency, high density, dual 18A, switch mode step-down μModule® regulator with ±0.8% total DC output accuracy. The input voltage is from 4.5V to 15V. The output voltage is programmable from 0.6V to 1.8V. DC2081A-B is configured as dual-phase, single-output, which can deliver up to 36A maximum. With the help of external compensation, ±3% transient accuracy can be achieved with 25% load step. The board designs with minimum components to demonstrate this high efficiency, high density μModule.

The LTC3880/LTC3880-1 are dual, PolyPhase DC/DC synchronous step-down switching regulator controllers with an I2C-based PMBus compliant serial interface. The controllers use a constant frequency, current mode architecture that is supported by LTpowerPlay? software development tool with graphical user interface (GUI).Switching frequency, output voltage, and device address can be programmed using external configuration resistors. Parameters can be set via the digital interface or stored in EEPROM. Voltage, current, internal/external temperature and fault status can be read back through the bus interface. The LTC3880 incorporates a 5V linear regulator while the LTC3880-1 uses an external 5V supply for minimum power loss. See comparison to LTC3887 below. The LTC1404 is a complete 600ksps, 12-bit A/D converter which draws only 75mW from a 5V or ?5V supplies. This easy-to-use device comes complete with a 160ns sample-and-hold and a precision reference. Unipolar and bipolar conversion modes add to the flexibility of the ADC. The LTC1404 has two power saving modes: Nap and Sleep. In Nap mode, it consumes only 7.5mW of power and can wake up and convert immediately. In the Sleep mode, it consumes 60?W of power typically. Upon power-up from Sleep mode, a reference ready (REFRDY) signal is available in the serial data word to indicate that the reference has settled and the chip is ready to convert.The LTC1404 converts 0V to 4.096V unipolar inputs from a single 5V supply and ?2.048V bipolar inputs from ?5V supplies. Maximum DC specs include ?1LSB INL, ?1LSB DNL and 45ppm/?C full-scale drift over temperature. The LTC3300-1 is a fault-protected controller IC for transformer-based bidirectional active balancing of multicell battery stacks. All associated gate drive circuitry, precision current sensing, fault detection circuitry and a robust serial interface with built-in watchdog timer are integrated.Each LTC3300-1 can balance up to 6 series-connected battery cells with an input common mode voltage up to 36V. Charge from any selected cell can be transferred at high efficiency to or from 12 or more adjacent cells. A unique level-shifting SPI-compatible serial interface enables multiple LTC3300-1 devices to be connected in series, without opto-couplers or isolators, allowing for balancing of every cell in a long string of series-connected batteries.When multiple LTC3300-1 devices are connected in series they can operate simultaneously, permitting all cells in the stack to be balanced concurrently and independently. Fault protection features include readback capability, cyclic redundancy check (CRC) error detection, maximum on-time volt-second clamps, and overvoltage shutoffs. Features LTC3300-1 SPI-compatible serial interface in which each chip in the stack communicates bidirectionally to the chips of the same type above and below it via currents. There is no limit to the stack height. Large common mode voltage differences are handled by each LTC3300-1. The microprocessor in the BMS system communicates ONLY with the bottom chip in the stack and subsequently all of the chips use the same fixed internal address. LTC3300-2 SPI-compatible serial interface in which each chip has a unique 5-bit pin-strapped address. The microprocessor in the BMS system communicates directly with every chip in the stack with common mode voltage differences handled by digital isolators or opto-couplers. Because of the 5-bit address, the stack height is limited to 32 LTC3300-2 ICs or 192 cells (~800V). There are 5 pins which have a different assignment, all of them serial interface related.
