The DC2531 is the starter kit for demonstrating the performance and ease of use of the LTC2986, which is a complete temperature measurement system on a chip. This kit includes the DC2508 (main demo circuit containing the LTC2986) and the DC2210 (a simple experiment circuit allowing bread boarding). In addition to the starter demonstration kit, sensor specific demonstration boards highlighting the performance of RTDs, thermistors, or thermocouples are also available.

Demonstration circuit 2560A is a 18V, 10A synchronous step-down Silent Switcher®2 with spread spectrum frequency modulation featuring the LT8642S. The demo board is designed for 1.2V output from a 2.8V to 18V input. The LT8642S is a compact, ultralow emission, high efficiency, and high speed synchronous monolithic step-down switching regulator. The integrated bypass capacitors optimize all the fast current loops and make it easier to minimize EMI/EMC emissions by reducing layout sensitivity. Selectable spread spectrum mode can further improve EMI/EMC performance. Fast minimum on-time of 20ns enables high VIN to low VOUT conversion at high frequency. The LT8642S switching frequency can be programmed either via a resistor or external clock over a 200kHz to 3MHz range. The default frequency of demo circuit 2560A is 2MHz. The SYNC pin on the demo board is grounded (JP1 at BURST position) by default for low ripple Burst Mode® operation. To synchronize to an external clock, move JP1 to SYNC and apply the external clock to the SYNC terminal. Spread spectrum mode and forced continuous mode can be selected respectively by moving JP1 shunt. The demo board has an EMI filter installed. This EMI filter can be included by applying the input voltage at the VIN_ EMI terminal. The LT8642S data sheet gives a complete description of the part, operation and application information. The data sheet must be read in conjunction with this demo manual for demo circuit 2560A. The LT8643S is assembled in a 4mm × 4mm LQFN package with exposed pads for low thermal resistance. The DC2574A-KIT is a standalone power/energy monitor that allows users to evaluate the LTC2947 power/energy monitor without a PC. This document describes how to quickly set up and operate the DC2574A-KIT; users should also refer to the DC2334 demo manual and LTC2947 data sheet for more details. The DC2574A-KIT includes all components required for stand-alone operation except for a power supply and load. The DC2574A-KIT operates with any USB compatible power supply and any load compatible with the LTC2947.

The LTC1955 provides all necessary supervisory and power control functions for two smart cards, two S.A.M. cards or a combination of S.A.M. and smart cards. It provides a charge pump for battery-powered applications as well as all necessary level shifting circuitry.The card voltages can be independently set to 1.8V, 3V or 5V. Both card interfaces include a card detection channel with automatic debounce circuitry. To reduce wiring costs, the LTC1955 interfaces to a microcontroller via a simple 4-wire serial interface. Multiple devices may be connected in daisychain fashion so that the number of wires to the card socket board is independent of the number of sockets. Demonstration circuit 524 is a positive input to negative output converter featuring the LTC3704 switching controller. The DC524 converts a 5V to 15V input to a –5.2V output and provides up to 2.5A of output current from 5V input. The converter operates at 300kHz with a high efficiency of 89%. The DC524 is set to operate in No RSENSE™ mode with input voltages up to 15V. However, DC524 can be modified for higher input voltages with an optional current sense resistor. The circuit features optional soft-start circuitry that can be enabled or disabled with a single jumper. Also, DC524 has a jumper to program either continuous or Burst Mode™ operation. The DC524 can be synchronized to an external clock of up to 400kHz.

Demonstration circuit 561 is a high current stepdown PolyPhaseTM converter featuring the LTC3731 three-phase synchronous buck controller. The input voltage is from 10V to 14V and output is 1.5V. DC561A-A can provide up to 180A output current with a 12-phase buck circuit, while DC561A-B is a 6-phase buck converter with up to 90A output current. An optional VID controller circuit is available on both DC561A-A and DC561A-B demo circuits for output voltage programming.

A high efficiency 3A, 0.1? switch is included on the die along with all the necessary oscillator, control and logic circuitry.
