The HMC832LP6GE is a 3.3 V, high performance, wide-band, Fractional-N Phase-Locked-Loop (PLL) that features an integrated Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) with a fundamental frequency of 1500 MHz - 3000 MHz, and an integrated VCO Output Divider (divide by 1/2/4/6.../60/62), that enables the HMC832LP6GE to generate continuous frequencies from 25 MHz to 3000 MHz. The integrated Phase Detector (PD) and delta-sigma modulator, capable of operating at up to 100 MHz, permit wider loop-bandwidths and faster frequency tuning, with excellent spectral performance.Industry leading phase noise and spurious performance, across all frequencies, enable the HMC832LP6GE to minimize blocker effects, improve receiver sensitivity and transmitter spectral purity. The AD5232 device provides a nonvolatile, dual-channel, digitally controlled variable resistor (VR) with 256-position resolution. This device performs the same electronic adjustment function as a mechanical potentiometer with enhanced resolution, solid state reliability, and superior low temperature coefficient performance. The versatile programming of the AD5232, performed via a microcontroller, allows multiple modes of operation and adjustment.In the direct program mode, a predetermined setting of the RDAC registers (RDAC1 and RDAC2) can be loaded directly from the microcontroller. Another important mode of operation allows the RDACx register to be refreshed with the setting previously stored in the corresponding EEMEM register (EEMEM1 and EEMEM2). When changes are made to the RDACx register to establish a new wiper position, the value of the setting can be saved into the EEMEMx register by executing an EEMEM save operation. After the settings are saved in the EEMEMx register, these values are automatically transferred to the RDACx register to set the wiper position at system power-on. Such operation is enabled by the internal preset strobe. The preset strobe can also be accessed externally.All internal register contents can be read via the serial data output (SDO). This includes the RDAC1 and RDAC2 registers, the corresponding nonvolatile EEMEM1 and EEMEM2 registers, and the 14 spare USER EEMEM registers that are available for constant storage.The basic mode of adjustment is the increment and decrement command instructions that control the wiper position setting register (RDACx). An internal scratch pad RDACx register can be moved up or down one step of the nominal resistance between Terminal A and Terminal B. This step adjustment linearly changes the wiper to Terminal B resistance (RWB) by one position segment of the device?s end-to-end resistance (RAB). For exponential/ logarithmic changes in wiper setting, a left/right shift command instruction adjusts the levels in ?6 dB steps, which can be useful for audio and light alarm applications.The AD5232 is available in a thin, 16-lead TSSOP package. All parts are guaranteed to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of ?40?C to +85?C. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment functions as mechanical potentiometers, trimmers, and variable resistors.The parts? versatile programmability allows multiple modes of operation, including read/write access in the RDAC and EEMEM registers, increment/decrement of resistance, resistance changes in ?6 dB scales, wiper setting readback, and extra EEMEM for storing user-defined information, such as memory data for other components, look-up table, or system identification information.The AD5253 / AD5254?allow the host I2C controllers to write any of the 64-/256-step wiper settings in the RDAC registers and store them in the EEMEM. Once the settings are stored, they are restored automatically to the RDAC registers at system power-on; the settings can also be restored dynamically.The AD5253 / AD5254?provide additional increment, decrement, +6 dB step change, and ?6 dB step change in synchronous or asynchronous channel update mode. LT3942 Demo Board | 36V, 2A Synchronous Buck-Boost Converter and LED Driver

Demonstration circuit 2404A is a 36V synchronous buckboost LED driver featuring the LT3942. It drives a single string of LEDs up to 14V at 1A when VIN is between 9V and 36V and will run down to 3VIN with reduced ILED. DC2404A runs at 2MHz switching frequency with spread spectrum frequency modulation (SSFM) disabled. When enabled, SSFM spreads the switching frequency of the LT3942 from fSW to fSW + 25% for reduced EMI performance. The LT3942 has an operating input voltage range of 3V to 36V. It has internal, synchronous 40V switches for high efficiency and small size. It has an adjustable switching frequency between 300kHz and 2MHz. The LT3942 can by synchronized to an external source, programmed with SSFM enabled for low EMI, or set to normal operation. The LT3942’s integrated PWMTG high-side PWM MOSFET driver assists with short-circuit protection of the output, as well as PWM dimming of the connected LEDs. The LED string can be PWM dimmed with an external PWM signal or can be dimmed using the internally generated PWM signal. DC2404A has jumpers that can be set to switch between internally and externally generated PWM signals. The external PWM setting defaults to 100% on with no PWM signal applied. The LT3942 can also be analog dimmed by placing a controllable DC voltage on the CTRL pin. When running PWM dimming with SSFM enabled, the SSFM aligns itself with the PWM signal for flicker free operation. This applies to both internal and external PWM dimming. Small ceramic input and output capacitors are used to save space and cost. The board is designed with tiny, high frequency capacitors placed near the PVIN and PVOUT pins for a reduction in radiated EMI. The open LED overvoltage protection uses the IC’s constant voltage regulation loop to regulate the output to approximately 17V peak if the LED string is opened. The output current can be monitored through the ISMON output pin. Undervoltage lockout can be adjusted on DC2404A with a few simple resistor choices. There is a small ferrite bead EMI filter on the input and output of DC2404A. These filters, combined with proper board layout and SSFM, are effective in reducing EMI. Please follow the recommended layout and four-layer PCB thickness of DC2404A for low EMI applications. The LT3942 can operate as a constant current LED driver as well as a constant voltage regulator. Small changes to the circuit allow for constant output voltage regulation. The LT3942 data sheet gives a complete description of the part, operation, and applications information. The data sheet must be read in conjunction with this demo manual for demonstration circuit 2404A. The LT3942EUFD is assembled in a 28-lead plastic QFN (UFD) package with a thermally enhanced exposed ground pad. Proper board layout is essential for maximum thermal performance.
