EVAL-AD8452-4SDZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8452 combines a precision analog front-end controller and switch mode power supply (SMPS), pulse-width modulator (PWM) driver into a single silicon platform for high volume battery testing and formation manufacturing. A precision instrumentation amplifier (in-amp) measures the battery charge/discharge current, while an equally accurate difference amplifier measures the battery voltage. Internal laser trimmed resistor networks establish the in-amp and difference amplifier gains (66 V/V and 0.4 V/V, respectively), and stabilize the AD8452 performance across the rated operating temperature range.Desired battery cycling current and voltage levels are established by applying precise control voltages to the ISET and VSET inputs. Actual charge and discharge current levels are sensed (usually by a high power, highly accurate shunt resistor) whose value is carefully selected according to system parameters. Switching between constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) loop integration is instantaneous, automatic, and completely transparent to the observer. A logic high at the MODE input selects the charge or discharge mode (high for charge, low for discharge). The AD8452 simplifies designs by providing excellent performance, functionality, and overall reliability in a space saving 48-lead, 7 mm ? 7 mm ? 1.4 mm LQFP package rated for operation at temperatures from ?40?C to +85?C.Applications Battery formation and testing High efficiency battery test systems with recycle capability Battery conditioning (charging and discharging) systems

EVAL-ADE9153BEVKZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADE9153B1 is a highly accurate, single-phase, energy metering IC with sensor monitoring and self-calibration. Sensor monitoring with mSure? technology allows meter health monitoring and advanced tamper detection. The monitoring feature allows the user to check the overall accuracy of the sensor and signal path to identify accuracy drifts that occur over time on the current and voltage channels, independently. Similarly, mSure offers advanced tamper detection with the ability to detect unusual changes on the sensors. mSure runs in parallel to the metering measurements, allowing uninterrupted and unaffected metrology in the ADE9153B. Self-calibration with mSure enables a meter to automatically calibrate the current and voltage channels without accurate reference meters or accurate sources when a shunt resistor is used as the current sensor. The self-calibration feature supports Class 1 and Class 2 meters. The ADE9153B includes three high performance analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), providing an 88 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The ADE9153B offers accurate measurement of line voltage and current, and calculates active, fundamental reactive, and apparent energy, as well as rms. A wide range of power quality information is included, such as dip and swell detection. Current Channel A is ideal for shunts and has a flexible gain stage providing full-scale input ranges from 62.5 mV peak down to 26.04 mV peak. Current Channel B has gain stages of 1?, 2?, and 4? for use with current transformers (CTs). A high speed, 10 MHz, serial peripheral interface (SPI) port allows access to the ADE9153B registers.1 Protected by U.S. Patents 8,350,558; 8,010,304; WO2013038176 A3; 0113507 A1; 0253102 A1; 0354266 A1; and 0154029 A1.

The ADPD4100/ADPD4101 operate as a complete multimodal sensor front end, stimulating up to eight light emitting diodes (LEDs) and measuring the return signal on up to eight separate current inputs. Twelve time slots are available, enabling 12 separate measurements per sampling period. The data output and functional configuration utilize an I2C interface on the ADPD4101 or a serial port interface (SPI) on the ADPD4100. The control circuitry includes flexible LED signaling and synchronous detection. The devices use a 1.8 V analog core and 1.8 V/3.3 V compatible digital input/output (I/O). The analog front end (AFE) rejects signal offsets and corruption from asynchronous modulated interference, typically from ambient light, eliminating the need for optical filters or externally controlled dc cancellation circuitry. Multiple operating modes are provided, enabling the ADPD4100/ADPD4101 to be a sensor hub for synchronous measurements of photodiodes, biopotential electrodes, resistance, capacitance, and temperature sensors. The multiple operation modes accommodate various sensor measurements, including, but not limited to, photoplethysmography (PPG), electrocardiography (ECG), electrodermal activity (EDA), impedance, capacitance, temperature, gas detection, smoke detection, and aerosol detection for various healthcare, industrial, and consumer applications.
