he ADR42x are a series of ultraprecision, second generation eXtra implanted junction FET (XFET) voltage references featuring low noise, high accuracy, and excellent long-term stability in SOIC and MSOP footprints.Patented temperature drift curvature correction technique and XFET technology minimize nonlinearity of the voltage change with temperature. The XFET architecture offers superior accuracy and thermal hysteresis to the band gap references. It also operates at lower power and lower supply headroom than the buried Zener references. The superb noise and the stable and accurate characteristics of the ADR42x make them ideal for precision conversion applications such as optical networks and medical equipment. The ADR42x trim terminal can also be used to adjust the out-put voltage over a ±0.5% range without compromising any other performance. The ADR42x series voltage references offer two electrical grades and are specified over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +125°C. Devices have 8-lead SOIC or 30% smaller, 8-lead MSOP packages.APPLICATIONS Precision data acquisition systems High resolution converters Battery-powered instrumentation Portable medical instruments Industrial process control systems Precision instruments Optical network control circuits

AD8138ARMZ-REEL
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8138 is a major advancement over op amps fordifferential signal processing. The AD8138 can be used as asingle-ended-to-differential amplifier or as a differential-to-differentialamplifier. The AD8138 is as easy to use as an opamp and greatly simplifies differential signal amplification anddriving. Manufactured on the proprietary ADI XFCB bipolarprocess, the AD8138 has a −3 dB bandwidth of 320 MHz anddelivers a differential signal with the lowest harmonic distortionavailable in a differential amplifier. The AD8138 has a uniqueinternal feedback feature that provides balanced output gainand phase matching, suppressing even order harmonics. Theinternal feedback circuit also minimizes any gain error thatwould be associated with the mismatches in the external gainsetting resistors. The differential output of the AD8138 helps balance the inputto differential ADCs, maximizing the performance of the ADC. The AD8138 eliminates the need for a transformer with highperformance ADCs, preserving the low frequency and dc information. The common-mode level of the differential output isadjustable by a voltage on the VOCM pin, easily level-shifting theinput signals for driving single-supply ADCs. Fast overloadrecovery preserves sampling accuracy. The AD8138 distortion performance makes it an ideal ADCdriver for communication systems, with distortion performancegood enough to drive state-of-the-art 10-bit to 16-bit convertersat high frequencies. The high bandwidth and IP3 of theAD8138 also make it appropriate for use as a gain block in IFand baseband signal chains. The AD8138 offset and dynamicperformance makes it well suited for a wide variety of signalprocessing and data acquisition applications. The AD8138 is available in both SOIC and MSOP packages foroperation over −40°C to +85°C temperatures. The AD8138-EP supports defense and aerospace applications (AQEC).

AD8220ARMZ-R7
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8220 is the first single-supply, JFET input instrumentation amplifier available in an MSOP package. Designed to meet the needs of high performance, portable instrumentation, the AD8220 has a minimum common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 86 dB at dc and a minimum CMRR of 80 dB at 5 kHz for G = 1. Maximum input bias current is 10 pA and typically remains below 300 pA over the entire industrial temperature range. Despite the JFET inputs, the AD8220 typically has a noise corner of only 10 Hz.With the proliferation of mixed-signal processing, the number of power supplies required in each system has grown. The AD8220 is designed to alleviate this problem. The AD8220 can operate on a ±18 V dual supply, as well as on a single +5 V supply. Its rail-to-rail output stage maximizes dynamic range on the low voltage supplies common in portable applications. Its ability to run on a single 5 V supply eliminates the need to use higher voltage, dual supplies. The AD8220 draws a maximum of 750 μA of quiescent current, making it ideal for battery powered devices.Gain is set from 1 to 1000 with a single resistor. Increasing the gain increases the common-mode rejection. Measurements that need higher CMRR when reading small signals benefit when the AD8220 is set for large gains.A reference pin allows the user to offset the output voltage. This feature is useful when interfacing with analog-to-digital converters. The AD8220 is available in an MSOP that takes roughly half the board area of an SOIC. Performance for the A and B grade is specified over the industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C, and the W grade is specified over the automotive temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.Applications Medical instrumentation Precision data acquisition Transducer interfaces

The AD7685 is a 16-bit, charge redistribution successive approximation, analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that operates from a single power supply, VDD, between 2.3 V to 5.5 V. It contains a low power, high speed, 16-bit sampling ADC with no missing codes, an internal conversion clock, and a versatile serial interface port. The part also contains a low noise, wide bandwidth, short aperture delay, track-and-hold circuit. On the CNV rising edge, it samples an analog input IN+ between 0 V to REF with respect to a ground sense IN−. The reference voltage, REF, is applied externally and can be set up to the supply voltage.Power dissipation scales linearly with throughput. The SPI-compatible serial interface also features the ability, using the SDI input, to daisy chain several ADCs on a single 3-wire bus or provides an optional BUSY indicator. It is compatible with 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3 V, or 5 V logic using the separate supply VIO.The AD7685 is housed in a 10-lead MSOP or a 10-lead QFN (LFCSP) with operation specified from −40°C to +85°C.APPLICATIONS Battery-powered equipment Medical instruments Mobile communications Personal digital assistants (PDAs) Data acquisition Instrumentation Process controls

The AD8278 and AD8279 are general-purpose difference amplifiers intended for precision signal conditioning in power critical applications that require both high performance and low power. The AD8278 and AD8279 provide exceptional common-mode rejection ratio (80 dB) and high bandwidth while amplifying input signals that are well beyond the supply rails. The on-chip resistors are laser trimmed for excellent gain accuracy and high CMRR. They also have extremely low gain drift vs. temperature. The common-mode range of the amplifier extends to almost triple the supply voltage (for G = ½), making the amplifer ideal for single-supply applications that require a high common-mode voltage range. The internal resistors and ESD circuitry at the inputs also provide overvoltage protection to the op amp.The AD8278 and AD8279 can be used as difference amplifiers with G = ½ or G = 2. They can also be connected in a high precision, single-ended configuration for non inverting and inverting gains of −½, −2, +3, +2, +1½, +1, or +½. The AD8278 and AD8279 provide an integrated precision solution that has a smaller size, lower cost, and better performance than a discrete alternative. The AD8278 and AD8279 operate on single supplies (2.0 V to 36 V) or dual supplies (±2 V to ±18 V). The maximum quiescent supply current is 200 μA, which is ideal for battery-operated and portable systems. For unity-gain difference amplifiers with similar performance, refer to the AD8276 and AD8277 data sheets. The AD8278 is available in the space-saving 8-lead MSOP and SOIC packages, and the AD8279 is offered in a 14-lead SOIC package. Both are specified for performance over the industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C and are fully RoHS compliant.ApplicationsVoltage measurement and monitoringCurrent measurement and monitoringInstrumentation amplifier building blockPortable, battery-powered equipmentTest and measurement
