The MAX14842 translates digital signals between two domains that have different ground references of up to 72V. The device features six communication channels, two bidirectional and four unidirectional. Two of the four unidirectional channels go in each direction. The device is powered by two supply voltages that independently define the logic levels of each ground domain.The MAX14842 supports guaranteed data rates up to 30Mbps on the four unidirectional channels and up to 2Mbps on the two bidirectional channels. The bidirectional channels have open-drain outputs, making them suitable for I²C signals. I²C clock stretching and hot swapping is supported on the bidirectional channels.Undervoltage lockout ensures that the output pins have a defined behavior during power-up, power-down, and during supply transients. For proper operation, ensure that 0V ≤ (VGNDB - VGNDA) ≤ 72V. The MAX16126/MAX16127 load-dump/reverse-voltage protection circuits protect power supplies from damaging input voltage conditions, including overvoltage, reverse-voltage, and high-voltage transient pulses. Using a built-in charge pump, the devices control two external back-to-back n-channel MOSFETs that turn off and isolate downstream power supplies during damaging input conditions, such as an automotive load-dump pulse or a reverse-battery condition. Operation is guaranteed down to 3V to ensure proper operation during automotive cold-crank conditions. These devices feature a flag output (active-low FLAG) that asserts during fault conditions.For reverse-voltage protection, external back-to-back MOSFETs outperform the traditional reverse-battery diode, minimizing the voltage drop and power dissipation during normal operation.The MAX16126/MAX16127 use external resistors to adjust the overvoltage and undervoltage comparator thresholds for maximum flexibility.The MAX16127 provides limiter-mode fault management for overvoltage and thermal shutdown conditions; whereas the MAX16126 provides switch-mode fault management for overvoltage and thermal shutdown conditions. In the limiter mode, the output voltage is limited and active-low FLAG is asserted low during a fault. In the switch mode, the external MOSFETs are switched off and active-low FLAG is asserted low after a fault. The switch mode is available in four options: latch mode, 1 autoretry mode, 3 autoretry mode, and always autoretry mode.The MAX16126/MAX16127 are available in 12-pin TQFN packages. The MAX6495–MAX6499 is a family of small, low-current, overvoltage-protection circuits for high-voltage transient systems such as those found in automotive and industrial applications. These devices monitor the input voltage and control an external nMOSFET switch to isolate the load at the output during an input overvoltage condition. The MAX6495–MAX6499 operateover a wide supply voltage range from +5.5V to +72V.The gate of the nMOSFET is driven high while the monitored input is below the user-adjustable overvoltage threshold. An integrated charge-pump circuit provides a 10V gate-to-source voltage to fully enhance the nMOSFET. When the input voltage exceeds the user-adjusted overvoltage threshold, the gate of the MOSFET is quickly pulled low, disconnecting the load from the input. In some applications, disconnecting the output from the load is not desirable. In these cases, the protection circuit can be configured to act as a voltage limiter where the GATE output sawtooths to limit the voltage to the load (MAX6495/MAX6496/MAX6499).The MAX6496 supports lower input voltages and reduces power loss by replacing the external reverse battery diode with an external series pMOSFET. The MAX6496 generates the proper bias voltage to ensure that the pMOSFET is on during normal operations. The gate-to-source voltage is clamped during load-dump conditions, and the p-channel MOSFET is off during reverse-battery conditions.The MAX6497/MAX6498 feature an open-drain, undedicated comparator that notifies the system if the output falls below the programmed threshold. The MAX6497keeps the MOSFET switch latched off until either the input power or the active-low SHDN pin is cycled. The high operating frequency also allows for small-size external components.The low-resistance on-chip nMOS switches ensure high efficiency at heavy loads while minimizing critical inductances, making the layout a much simpler task with respect to discrete solutions. Following a simple layout and footprint ensures first-pass success in new designs.The MAX8643 comes with a high-bandwidth (> 14MHz) voltage-error amplifier. The voltage-mode control architecture and the voltage-error amplifier permit a type III compensation scheme to be utilized to achieve maximum loop bandwidth, up to 20% of the switching frequency. High loop bandwidth provides fast transientresponse, resulting in less required output capacitance and allowing for all-ceramic capacitor designs.The MAX8643 provides two tri-state logic inputs to select one of nine preset output voltages. The preset output voltages allow customers to achieve ±1% output-voltage accuracy without using expensive 0.1% resistors. In addition, the output voltage can be set to any customer value by either using two external resistors at the feedback with 0.6V internal reference orapplying an external reference voltage to the REFIN input. The MAX2066 high-linearity digital variable-gain amplifier (VGA) is a monolithic SiGe BiCMOS attenuator and amplifier designed to interface with 50Ω systems operating in the 50MHz to 1000MHz frequency range (See the Typical Application Circuit in the full data sheet). The digital attenuator is controlled as a slave peripheral using either the SPI™-compatible interface or a parallel bus with 31dB total adjustment range in 1dB steps. An added feature allows 'rapid-fire' gain selection between each of four steps, preprogrammed by the user through the SPI-compatible interface. The 2-pin control allows the user to quickly access any one of four customized attenuation states without reprogramming the SPI bus.Because each stage has its own RF input and RF output, this component can be configured to either optimize NF (amplifier configured first), or OIP3 (amplifier last). The device's performance features include 22dB amplifier gain (amplifier only), 5.2dB NF at maximum gain (includes attenuator insertion loss), and a high OIP3 level of +42.4dBm.
