The MAX5082/MAX5083 are 250kHz PWM step-downDC-DC converters with an on-chip, 0.3Ω high-sideswitch. The input voltage range is 4.5V to 40V for theMAX5082 and 7.5V to 40V for the MAX5083. The outputis adjustable from 1.23V to 32V and can deliver up to1.5A of load current.Both devices utilize a voltage-mode control scheme forgood noise immunity in the high-voltage switching environmentand offer external compensation allowing formaximum flexibility with a wide selection of inductor valuesand capacitor types. The switching frequency isinternally fixed at 250kHz and can be synchronized toan external clock signal through the SYNC input. Lightload efficiency is improved by automatically switchingto a pulse-skip mode.All devices include programmable undervoltage lockoutand soft-start. Protection features include cycle-by-cyclecurrent limit, hiccup-mode output short-circuitprotection, and thermal shutdown.
